Bug quantity is a constant. They fix one bug and create another one. Be strong, guys.

If anybody knows of a way to get a refund from Steam for this games, I’m all ears....

In short, the game is still totally unplayable as it hard crashes the PC (from 1min to 20mins). Basically the monitor goes black and sounds skips and I have to hard reset. (I can play other games like Battlefield 3 on max settings and I’ve not had one crash)

I've been waiting patiently thinking this patch will resolve this issue as there are many people suffering from the same issue which is evident on the forums.

So what do I do now? wait for an indefinite period of time in the hope they bring a patch out to fix this? The product is faulty and I want my money back!

This is the issue on youtube:

STILL has not fixed issues with dragon souls not being absorbed.

This is great. Had no particular issues pre-patch, except that my attack speed was ridiculously slow. It seems to have been improved with the mouse sensitivity. However, that and the souls were my ONLY complaints.

I suppose I'll just never learn any of my shouts, because I never have random dragon attacks, and I can't travel to old lairs to get new souls.

ALSO. I seem to have lost my 50% fire resistance that I'm supposed to have as a Dark Elf. And my 20% frost resistance from my boots. This was not an issue before.

Please, stop making my whole screen flames when I get set on fire. How am I supposed to see?

Good job, Bethesda. This is the Windows Vista of games.

Played like 10mins of the new patch (Version 1.2.12.0) not sure if that's what everyone else is running but mine seems stable enough. Nothing out of the ordinary, feels exactly the same as before. Apart from now the mouse movement is better. *Shrug*

Odd bug for me, when I go to poison a weapon in the items menu, I can not click out of it. It literally sits there and I can not click on "yes" to confirm the poison or get out of the menu...rather game breaking for me -.-

Important notes in the OP ...

Can you expand that to include previous ini tweaks as potentially suspect game breakers too. If users delete Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini before their next game start post patch, new ini's will be generated and possibly solve some problems.

10 minutes isn't really enough time to adequately test the game, Darling. I find the magic/Armor resistance bug to be game breaking enough. Playing on Master difficulty with no resistances is extremely.. unwise =P.

Reinstalled the game. Says its 1.2.12.0. Confirmed that Elemental Resist bug is there. Summoned a Flame Atronach and killed it with fire. Was not there pre-patch.

ok, I was having the load screen freeze issue (dragon and smoke), but like others, deleting Val's Crafting mod fixed that problem.

However, like others, I have no y-axis control of my mouse during gameplay...I DO have full mouse control in all menus and during dialogues.

Also, my fps has improved slightly with this patch.

Any suggestions for the mouse? I have tried acceleration on/off, neither work.

cheers!

Okay, after 6 or 7 tries launching the game, the menu finally appears, I fast travel to one of the dragon word walls (shear-something?) and after the loading screen instant CTD.

And the menu is gone again :cryvaultboy:

I've got a question, I noticed in the list of fixes it says something about the remapping of buttons and controls.

Does this include Xbox 360 controller controls? Cause being a left handed gamer I'd love to switch the sticks on the controller so I can move with the right stick and look with the left.

it seems like the x and Y axis on the right stick if yoru using a 360 controller has been shmmurfed out as well.

it usualyl controls the camera, but its unresponsive.

SO just for you keeping tabs:

360 controller on PC:

does not work in chatboxes,
does not work in loot drop downs
does not work in mercantile drop downs
right stick has lost functionality.

Two issues at my end

(1) Main Menu does not have any options in it after loading.

(2) Thankfully experience had me back up the old .exe, which solved the main menu problem. However once in game, the keyboard does not respond to any keys when in-menu (i.e press "tab" during a conversation does not exit the conversation).

Some users have already noted that the menu disappearing was due to a mod and once all mods were removed the menu worked as before. It's not Bethesda's responsibility to make their updates compatible with mods - you'll have to check for updates to the mod in question if that indeed turns out to be the problem. I'm not using any mods and I'm not seeing this issue.

It's entirely possible that the 1.2 update included more than just an .exe update. Since there were interface changes, it may have changed files in the Interface directory or somewhere else in the \data tree. If that is the case then simply restoring your old .exe won't be sufficient and will likely cause additional problems.

If you find your post missing from this thread, it's more than likely deleted as off topic. We will delete rants with no bug report/issues reported as off topic in hopes to now keep this thread clean for devs to review.
Derp. Okay, the patch fixed nothing and broke more [censored] than was already broken. How's that? Anybody who got wind of it didn't download it or reverted. Now maybe they'll start working on the issues that are keeping the game unplayable for most PC users rather than, "Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away."

Game didn't launch when I downloaded 1.2. Gave a black screen which had to be alt-tabbed out of and closed via task manager. So I used Windows' previous versions of the file folder to restore and verified game cache through Steam. Game runs poorly, as before, but at least it runs.

Didn't work for me.
And it won't, at least not with your current save, the changes to ini effect the save file, changing the ini back to default makes it incompatible with the save, especially if you had uGrids higher than 5.

Oddly, I am playing off of a week-old save (not counting today I haven't played since November 23, so no 1.2 patch), and I was able to win a fight I couldn't win a week ago with 1.2 installed (Erandur and myself vs. 3 snowy sabre tooth cats; I didn't attempt it too much as I had to go last week, but I did try a few times). Full Exquisite Dwarven Armor, Exquisite Dwarven Shield, and Exquisite Skyforge Steel Sword, so armor DR had to make a difference.

I got owned a week ago, and I was able to win my first try this time. Maybe my armor DR isn't broken.

What's a better way to test it?

RUS Steam version, 1.2 update. This patch (steam auto-updated the game 20 mins ago) broke my game. Completely.
Am I the only one who bought RU version of this Bugger-Fall-2 on Steam here? Well the game itself is generally amazing (putting away silly implemented main storyline) and all the :minor: bugs with quests - to the hell with that - can be fixed with console, but the bug I encountered now is just, just... gaaaah.
The TAB key isn't working anymore. I can't close any book if I read it from outside of backpack, only take it with me ("E" key). AND after the book is in backpack, opening it leads to inability to close it by any means - i've remapped tab key to backspace, tried every other button on keyboard - to no avail. Even hitting ESC and trying to get to the main menu screen throws me back to the damn book screen!

HOW in the nine hells THIS can bypass an attention of all those people who were testing the patch?.. I doubt that any testing was done, at all...

And they've "fixed" lockpicking in a way that it's virtually impossible to level it up anymore, just brilliant!

@thenanny

backup, then delete your skyrim.ini. fixed the mouse issue for me.

However, if you made any changes to ugridsto load, make sure to put that back in.

Currently dealing with fast travel and other bugs, but i'm assuming they are mostly due to mods I have installed.

Shame about the resistance issues though...that's a game breaker.

OK, all i would like to know is the following:

1) Are the devs aware of the Damage/Magic Resitance bug?
2) Are they going to fix this asap with a minor update?
3) Can we not wait weeks for this as it pretty much kills the game?
4) How did this get through testing?

Have you tried just using the in game settings for the mouse ?. Works a treat here after regenerating the ini's.

Vertical mouse sensitivity has been destroyed. Horizontal is fine, but vertical mouse movement moves sluggishly.

I'll try changing Vsync to "use application settings" in the CCC and see if that works, but this shouldn't even be a problem. I can't really report any more problems since the game is unplayable.

On the bright side, the game seems to run a lot smoother than it did pre-patch. I don't get any lag that I've been able to notice, but I did just install the FXAA injector.

Edit: I see it's a common problem, I'll try regenerating the .INIs. Both Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini in the My Games folder?

From the quick test I have done looks like the NUMPAD still does not bind.

Oh well be back to AutoHotKey.

What do Bethesda have against lefthanded people, I am just interested.
