Ponyshock Infinite

Edit: I just realised I said the same exact thing you did, just more verbose.
No worries, a little support never hurts.

Anyyyywhoo, back to Bioshock. I haven't heard much about the game for awhile, last I heard it was something about space/time rifts and some Big Daddy-like eagle. So, this whole Columbia floating city thing, is this all in the same world as Rapture? I'm also kind of disappointed that we have left Rapture, the story just feels... unfinished, but maybe we'll go back in a later game, perhaps to the time before the downfall of the city.

Anyone else think that Elizabeth is one of the Little Sisters that Delta saved? (assuming that ending is canon and this is the same universe. Nevermind, the first 2 were set in the 60's, this one is in 1912.

Ehhh, it's why I never liked Infinite using the Bioshock name. It's a story that has a sequel it never needed. Bioshock was set in the 60s, 1962 if I recall properly, and 2 takes place 15 years later. But Infinite feels like a steam punk Bioshock. It has 'not' Big Daddies, and 'not' Plasmids, and 'not' hostile altered citizens. Ultimately it's Bioshock in ever sense of gameplay except the setting.

I did read an interesting conspiracy theory that someone made that Ryan saw Columbia at the Worlds Fair and it inspired him to build Rapture. Whether it's true lore wise or not, it would make sense.

It isn't. I recall one of the devs saying that this is an alternate universe from the Rapture Bioshock universe. Put on the plus side, one of the rifts into other dimensions allows you to go to Rapture

Wait, where did you hear this? Because if it's true, that's awesome.

No. One. Cares.

BioShock is one of, if not the greatest FPS game of all time.

System Shock 2 is a better game than Bioshock. Note that Bioshock is a very good game, just that SS2 was a better game. It's really too bad that you can't play SS2 on newer OS's

Wait what? 0.0

Anyway, I really hope it comes with the original game in Australia. I don't really want to buy the first one. I'm broke enough as it is. But I will if I have to. I enjoyed the demo.

I say meh to all of it I say! All of it! From system shock, to bioshock, and all the insertwordhereshock's and beyond! It will only ever get a resounding "meh" of indifference from me.

Edit
BEHOLD! As I leave this thread! With nothing of value to add to it other than my own neutral opinion!

I went and looked at the trailers for this game again, I remember seeing it was on a floating and think "No way thats [censored]" but all this talk about it and thinking about how good Bioshock 1&2 were has really got me looking foward to this game. Just think Bioshock was the main reason for me buying the 360 in the first place

Bioshock Infinite will be out 16 October, 2012 in the US, and 19 October 2012 everywhere else!

( Damn those oceans! If only there were a way to release the game at the same time all over the world. :(

 )

While you're waiting, you should get the first Bioshock. It's good. Also keep an eye on http://www.gamesas.com/forum/163-general-discussion/.

Not to derail the thread but, both Bioshock 1 & 2 are on sale for $10 a piece. I see both games are listed as RPG/ACTION games. Does that mean there are friendly NPCs or is everyone you meet hostile?

I'm most likely buying both this weekend.

You can't really go up and talk to an npc in the first one IIRC. They sort of pop up in the story as you go if you get what I mean. I never finished the second so I can't really comment on it.

they are sort of rpg'ish in the way you can get upgrades and stuff. the game is linear and you cant interact with npc's as in trading or dialogue options like in elder scrolls games. you do get "helpers" but i cant go into much detail about that without spoiling it for you

So I watched the 15 minute demo, and though thought the blimp blowing up part was very scripted. Was it?

And is it open world? I know Bioshock had levels but Colombia seems very open and just "go where you want"

So... apparently we are killing robot George Washingtons in this game. Sounds legit.
