Ponyshock Infinite

So... apparently we are killing robot George Washingtons in this game. Sounds legit.

Well now it's officially going to be the best game ever, Georgie is all you need to make a great game ;)

Only if all of the presidents until that point appear in the game. I don't know why, but I think that a Theodore Roosevelt holding a chaingun would be hilarious.

So I watched the 15 minute demo, and though thought the blimp blowing up part was very scripted. Was it?

And is it open world? I know Bioshock had levels but Colombia seems very open and just "go where you want"

It's not "go where you want". You're siphoned through particular areas at particular times. I.e. it's like its predecessors.

I wonder how much of an eerie atmosphere Infinite can create since it doesn't have the same dark ruined dystopia that Rapture had

This game had better be amazingly good and even if it is it's still not getting filled under "B", it's going between Hitman and Left 4 Dead.

EDIT: Better not be in the same universe as BioShock...

Does anyone know Irrational games Email. I'm going to ask them something.

Just sent them a question asking whether or not the original Bioshock will be available on the same disk in Australia

they are sort of rpg'ish in the way you can get upgrades and stuff. the game is linear and you cant interact with npc's as in trading or dialogue options like in elder scrolls games. you do get "helpers" but i cant go into much detail about that without spoiling it for you

Oh, ok that's cool then. I'm going to buy both of them after my wakes up.

Whugh?

Because there's no need. The universe of Rapture doesn't need to be in the same as one where you do battle with animatronic President's and cities suspended by balloons. As fantastical as Rapture is, its construction was presented realistically as possible as was it's explaination of Plasmids and such. Columbia is just far too zany for my liking.

I can't help it, it's existance just offends me. BioShock is about Rapture as far as I am concerned, first they made an un-necessary sequel and now this Infinite. Basically BioShock is just a label now, a checklist of items and themes to cross off and that's what makes it BioShock. I have no doubt that Infinite will be a good game but it just feels like a betrayal, almost like "Rapture, oh that's nothing compared to what we have here." Because I know that I will never hold a setting or universe in such esteem Rapture.

There might not be a need for it, but I don't think Columbia necessarily detracts from the gravitas of Rapture. Rapture was an isolated, corrupted place, drowning in its own philosophy. Columbia is borne from a different set of circumstances. It's not too much of a stretch that Rapture was just the equivalent of, say, Detroit or Chicago circa now, whereas Columbia is a brighter, more alive place in the same universe, a place built on hope instead of ambition.

I just bought both games for $19.98 on Steam. I was going to buy the Bioshock 2 Four Pack but I have no idea what it is, it didn't give me any info on it.

Thanks mods for moving my post!!

C'mon povuholo, I expected better from you! everyone must know about LGS and their design principles! If people went round spreading the word back then LGS would not be dead. The Industry would be drastically different right now. But fine, you are the boss, i give up.

BioShock 2 finished downloading a while ago but I'm still waiting on Bioshock to finish. My wife leaves for work in about a half an hour and I want to play before she leaves (after she leaves I have to devote all my time to our daughter). HURRY UP BIOSHOCK!!

Because the forst one hasn't finished updating and I wanted to play one. Im not that far into the second where I couldn't easily start over.

Besides I'm not able to save which I think is because GFWL won't download my profile without going stupid.

Bioshock uses GFWL? That's unfortunate... I hope that's not the case for Infinity.

What do you think of it so far?

Bioshock 2 uses it. I'm not sure about 1 since I haven't played if yet.

So far I'm really enjoying it. It's definitely creepy. I can't wait to play through both games while waiting for Infinite.

I still think it fits the ruined dystopia theme based on the footage and info released so far. It seems as if madness will replace decrepit underwater malls as a source for ruin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_DSfjAdhlU&t=1m43s. Can't wait for this game. :)
