Three most simple easy changes that would improve the game f

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 6:33 am

For me it would be

1: The 'hardcoe' mode, eating, drinking, sleeping etc

2: More tactical combat. I don't mean overly complex and clunky (like The Witcher 2), but armour gives less protection against serious blows, requiring even high level tanks to retreat sometimes

3: More spells/spell maing

How was combat in The Witcher 2 complex? You could dodge with rolling, Block or counter attack. Magic was incredibly diluted. As far as games go, The Witcher 2's combat system was bare bones.

We are talking about simple fixes right? Cause many suggestions don't sound very simple.

1) Inventory needs alphabetical order and item categories. Please please patch this. I want to spend my time questing with my character not organizing their stuff. This is # 1 cause the game needs it and i feel like it COULD happen.

2) Oblivion style difficulty slider bar. Master doesn't feel like master at lvl 30 +. Much too easy. This could fall under lvl scaling as well.

3) Rebalance of crafting.

I'd like to see armor smithing done different.

I'd rather have more armor types which we can improve on depending on skill level and the material we use to make the armor.

i.e. an orcish armor design can be made to a poorer standard with a cheaper material such as iron or it can be made to a higher quality with ebony.

The same can be done with Imperial armor or Nordic armor. That way we don't all end up wearing the same heavy armor or the same light armor just to get the best armor stats. It gives more originality and culture to different characters.

Obviously not all armors have to be racial. There can be some that aren't. That way we have more variety in our character design.

If daedric armor is just ebony armor with a daedric heart thrown into the furnace, then we surely we could have daedric orcish armor or daedric Nordic armor if made using ebony?

**EDIT** - sorry. Just re-read the thread opening post. Little things that can be changed.
This is more like something I'd have just preferred or would rather see done on future TES. Sorry didn't read post correctly

1 - Horses (horse combat + follower riding): This won't happen, but maybe next game.
2 - More Dialogue Choices - Like it or not, you get filtered down a path and it doesn't matter what you've done beforehand most of the time.
3 - More consequence - I don't like the fact that the barkeep at the Thieves' Guild refers to me as the "new guy" despite the fact I'm the guild leader. There are several examples like this where the game never takes into account my actions.

1. The ability to talk down bandits and other enemy NPCs so that they don't automatically attack you, based on the Speech skill.
2. The ability to give any NPC an item from your inventory. I hate doing quests where I accompany an NPC into a dungeon and all they have are normal clothes and an iron axe. For Talos' sake, stop your whining and put on this helmet!
3. The ability to tell your companion to go to sleep. I hate waking up every morning with my companion standing over me like some kind of creeper. Plus I feel bad because they never get any rest.

Those three simple fixes would add the most to my experience and require very little work. I can easily come up with a thousand other things.

I didn't read the whole thread. I'm just going to give my 3 -

1) Portable Camping Gear - A tent, bedroll, and fire pit so I don't have to go kill a cave full of bandits to sleep in the wilderness.
2) Degrading Armor and Weapons - It seemed odd to me that Bethesda would add Smithing and take away this attribute that weapons and armor had in Morrowind and Oblivion.
3) Give Arrows and Gold Weight - It is just so unrealistic that gold coins and arrows do not add to encumberance.

Those three would be a great start...I could name more, but I'd settle....

These should be really simple since they were in Oblivion:

- Have the player's eyes follow other npcs during conversations and fighting. I'm sick of my character acting like a terminator walking through town.
- Allow rotating third person view with rules like Oblivion (stationary with weapon drawn, all the time with weapon sheathed?)
- Bring back random "rumor" statements by npcs to break up the repetitive conversational hum drum

On the wishlist but unlikely:
- Better leveling and perks
- Cuirasses and greaves - (break 'em up for more variation in looks)
- Hotkeys based on LH/RH
- Allow the player's actions to have some impact on the world

I just wish they would fix the eyelashes glitch. Seriously, every male Altmer in the game (except Ancano) has his eyelashes detatched from his eyelids and falling sideways over his eyes. See: http://skyrimnexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=22763

1. Spell Creation OR Destruction Scaling
2. Companions that are compatible with stealth characters OR a revamped companion system
3. Hunger, thirst, and limb damage with physically noticeable effects.

You asked! Romance like in Dragon Age origins. The marriage thing in Skyrim is for pre-teens or infants and toddlers.

Change all perks and other multipliers to work on weapon/armor basedamage and not the enhanced stats from smithing.
Enhancements from smithing should be added last, just like the 60 armor from the lords stone.
I belive this will go a along way towards improving the balance.
Some would complain but the solution to this would be to just leave the "restorationloop" in the game as it is for those who want to go crazy.

a hardcoe mode: weight, sleep, potions over time, weather/environment penalties, degradation of equip and skills, food, etc.

companions: better control (wheel) and content/questline

enemy difficulty and a.i.: slider bar, new enemies at high character levels, better a.i. mechanics

and, lastly: increased customization and options shouldn't have to be asked for since they should already be there in great detail.
