Three most simple easy changes that would improve the game f

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 8:34 am

The most desirable "Easy" thing I can think of would be to be able to fast travel to the inside of your home using the world map.
It seems like it would be simple to add a tab to the map at each location you can buy a house.
Click on the tab and it would put you directly inside the front door of your house.
No telling how many hours of my playing time that would save.
Something else that would be real nice would be to be able to fast travel from the inside of your house to any of the fast travel destinations without having to step outside then fast travel.

The time waiting for the computer to load up different locations as you fast travel isn't quality play time and should be minimized.

Doesn't place you inside, but something to keep an eye on as people have suggested it do so in the comments.

Less loading.
Choose which missions you want rather than get given them then choose.
Less loading!

But not macros. Actually, I haven't tried to hook up my Nostromo or use my G15 keyboard, I wonder if you can make McCheese macros to bypass some of the Ugh stuff?

1 - Removing underwear from the Khajiit and Argonian characters, even if what's underneath remains "tame". I like the appearance of the unbroken fur pattern.

2 - Remove the ned for helmets from the Light Armor perks

3 - Add a uest to Take Down the Thieve's Guild!
Khajiit... approve

Them adding a house that can hold every weapon on a rack and same with the armor being able to change the color or armor and add on an arena that would let you fight anything you want like maybe 10 dragons at once.

Quick menu? There's yet another sub-menu I haven't discovered yet? And I want hotkeys, not "set button X to toggle between your hands until you juggle two skills into the position you want". That's nearly as bad as the favorites menu.

3 things that I'd like to see tweaked:

-- Change the "XP" you get for crafting certain items. An iron dagger shouldn't give the same XP as a Daedrick sword. This way as you craft better stuff you get more XP and don't have to craft 500 draggers to max out your smithing. I.E. playing the game will give more rewards than just grinding out mass amounts of daggers.

-- Same thing but for Enchantment

-- Add tiny amounts of XP for picking / harvesting alchemical ingredients

I call the favourites menu the quick menu, soz. When in the favourites menu just press the number key you wish to assign to the object in the list.

1. Fix hotkeys and dual wielding. DOES NOT WORK AT ALL and makes switching between dual swords and my bow a pain. This includes UN EQUIPPING the friggen quiver for christs sake that pissed me off. Ive got my swords out but I have to manually UN EQUIP the friggen quiver as it has no business still being there. I guess its more realistic, but why can't it go with the other 5 quivers of ebony, iron, glass, dwarven ect quivers lol.

2. Make it so quests do not break if you clear a quest cave. This recently has pissed me off a few times and Ive had to use commands to advance the quests. This severly punishes exploration, which is 70% of this damn game lol

3. Not as large of a deal now as im used to it, but when fighting mage people their spells should show some effect on your screen when your hit by them. IE a freezy spell, all of a sudden I cant run wtf how am i supposed to know, there is no way other than 3rd person which I rarely use for combat. If a stamina spell is draining me GIVE US A PROMPT! somthing.

Those things really piss me off.

Macros seem to work OK with my Nostromo.

1. Make it so that you can play through the civil war and all the other major questlines without doing the quest that triggers the dragons.
2. (Alternatively) make it so that you can upon completing the main quest choose if you want to stop the dragons from spawning.
3. ..i, dunno. Maybe.. see your feet?

I've got more than 200 hrs. into my character, but have actually done very little in the game as far as quests go (MQ, I've visited the greybeards and that's it; In the DB I've completed the initial three contracts but haven't been back to the sanctuary to actually "finish" them; I've done three daedric quests: Hircine, Peroyite, and Azura) and haven't done much exploratory dungeon diving either; I haven't spammed any of the magic schools, and I've only tinkered in the crafting skills (not using any as money makers, e.g.); and yet, I'm somehow, inexplicably already lvl. 25. Which, of course, leads me to my first suggested change ....

1) As others have said, slow down the skill progression-rate for the crafting skills AND speechcraft. I'm barely ankle-deep in the available quests, yet I'm already half-way to the supposed soft level-cap. At most I feel like my PC should be lvl. 10, probably less.

I know many complained about the level-scaling in OB, but at least in OB, fwiw, I could control my leveling (i.e., sleep once and bump up a single level). In Skyrim, if my roleplay feels like it's time to advance a level for a specific perk or whatever, I'm forced to advance thru all the levels of my accumulated experience points. Icky bad!

The thing that especially irks me is that because the leveling happens so fast, my gear quickly gets outdated and requires me to use the "secondary" skills even more ... e.g., I'm gonna have to spam smithing to get the Arcane perk so that Saviors Hide remains feasible, which in turn is going to probably boost me another 2-3 lvls.

I like to roleplay and not fast travel, but it didn't take long before I felt forced to FT just so I could level a bit slower -- total buzzkill.

2) The "google earth" map is almost useless. Replace it w/ a map that's actually practical. Indeed, the same could be said for the quest journal too. A single sentence does not describe a quest in any meaningful way, at least in a way meaningful enough that I can rely on it vs. being forced to rely on the quest marker -- as it is now, the journal is nothing more than a list for the quest marker.

3) The UI for containers is a mess. If nothing else, simply use the same interface as for merchants and have those "tabs" all sort alphabetically. Something, anything really, would be greatly appreciated.

So losing out on level experiance becuase you couldnt find a bed before you next skill got raised is a good thing?

1. Master Difficulty=enemies do 6x damage and you do 1/6x damage like Oblivion, instead of 2x and 1/2x.
2. Make sure number 1 isn't glitched.
3. Double check that number 2 works.

Probally a *hard* thing to do, idk. but besides some of the issues other have pointed out, i wish my character would at least make gestures or something when i interact with quest npc's. they talk, look at you, make gestures....and i just stand there like a lump on a log staring into space as i select response options.
With all the voice and gestures in the game, why are none used for the main character? even 10 year old rpg's main character make some kind of gestures.....

On console we only get 2 hotkeys. It is infuriating. I want 8 like Oblivion/Fallout 3/NV. I also want each one to be assignable to left hand, right hand, or be a dual wield hotkey.

The system we have now is pathetic and interrupts the gameplay constantly.

Umm, did you play Oblivion?

In OB, you'd continue getting exp. w/out sleeping/leveling, but you'd only gain one level at a time. So, e.g., if PC was lvl. 5 but had accumulated enough exp. to gain three more levels, you'd have three choices:

1) Don't sleep and therefore not level.

2) Sleep once and gain one level.

3) Sleep in the same bed (e.g., in one hour stints) three times to gain all three levels in a pseudo-immediate fashion.

In Skyrim, #2 is not an option. It's all or nothing.

I can only think of one small thing right now.

Give the Player Character a few small idle animations; like turning his head to look at the one who's talking, smiling a bit every now and then, checking his nails, scratch his behind. Those sorts of things. As it is now, he just stands there, staring, looking really lifeless and dumb, but it's an easy fix.

2) Totally rework the economy of the game by making 1/5 of all weapons and armor left on a dead body “Broken & worthless” That way looting corpses and selling gear at stores is rendered useless as a quick way to make money. It makes buying at a store not merely selling a possibility. If you had to buy 4/5 of all weapons and armor that would make the money you make far more precious. Questing would become more interesting for the story and treasures not merely for the mundane corpse looting.

I like that idea. Skyrim deffinately needs to have the fat trimmed from it and that would deffinately help.

my top three would be:

1. A simple script to fix NPC dialog to a) recognize your achievements in the game and B) not utter the same lines/greetings over and over again. Even a simple 'Hmm?' would suffice

2. More spells.

3. More smithing options

1) A sense of accomplishment... Skyrim lacks it completely which is just..... Really bad.............
2) More Hot keys... Or the Fav system being in real time and not pausing the game.
3) NPC's not saying the same damn things over and over and over and over...................

4) You can marry an Argonians who in the lore can change their six, but you cant marry a Khajiit?

I want dead people/characters/beasts to have weight, simple. I find this odd: You have a hell of a fight with a strong Orc, and the second he's death, suddenly his body acts like it's a balloon. With the 'E'-button you can pick bodies up and let them float in front of you. I don't like that  Something that looks heavy, like a dragon, should act like it's heavy even when it's dead. I find the way dragon skeletons act (like they are made of paper) very strange...
