UK Riots

Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 5:46 am

They managed to get a lot of pictures from CCTV of people rioting. These criminals need to get what's coming to them.

True. London isn't a good place to start a riot especially if you don't want to get caught, because seriously there are cameras everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE.

Read a tweet from a guy who lives in Enfield and he said 50-70 people have formed a citizen's patrol tonight to try to ward off rioters/looters. Looks like the public may be taking things into their own hands.

Nah, don't kid yourself. Those idiots haven't had a cause since the first day. Whatever cause they may have had vanished in favor of acting like a bunch of savages after the first storefront window was broken.

Oh boy, I applaud those guys for trying to help, but I don't know if that's such a good idea. Aside from making things even more confusing for the police trying to make arrests, it might just get even more people hurt.

Sending in the army is political suicide. And I think there are now some stupid number of police in London. 16000 or something.

The girls sound like spoiled brats. I found http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14456065 even more outrageous.

Those kind of people make me rage like crazy, and should be put down.

Anyone heard anything about Milton Keynes? Apparently there's been looting but I'm yet to find a reliable source.

Who cares if it is political suicide, when [censored] gets out of hand, you need to make it clear you're not messing around.

As the wise Engi once said:
"How am I going to stop some big mean mother hubbard riot from tearing me my country a structurally superfluous new behind? The answer: Use a gun. If that don't work, use more gun."

Now I'm not saying go around shooting everyone, but you really need to know where to draw the line. Not that I'm in any place to tell the British government what to do, but that's my two cents. People may be a little mad, and that may actually give them something legitimate to be pissy about, but you would have order.

Indeed. Considering the Police are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Police pull out batons and crackdown on criminals=too brutal
Police do what they are doing now= too soft
I'm saying this based on nothing but still, I'm just saiyan.

You guys are really being too hard on these guys. I mean, they're English. Can you imagine being English, and living in England? They just went outside to see the first sunshine for two weeks, and when it started raining again, they snapped. I'd riot too.

Really, you don't see the Scots causing trouble.

Saiyan? Man, if Goku was there....

In this situation, the police getting out there and cracking some skulls is preferable to bringing in the military and imposing freedom-crushing martial law. The police just need to get their act together and [censored] up some looters. Go all Richard II on 'em.

Good. They should throw some bean bags in there while they are at it.
Also 100 or so Sikhs are standing and defending their temple in Southall and the surrounding area. Good to see.

http://www.miltonkeynes.co.uk/news/local/breaking_news_disorder_in_mk_1_2947606 - if this source is accurate.

Stay safe if you're near there. I'm in Northamptonshire, not all that far away but nothing seems to have broken out here.

Edit: seems to be more fear than ongoing riots: http://www.miltonkeynes.co.uk/news/local/update_10_15pm_fears_fanned_rioting_flames_1_2947629

And the rioters will be the first to complain when the police are being tougher.
