I say catch all responsible and chuck the little thugs in the army.
No, no, no. These are seriously the sort of people that the Army absolutely does not want: they actually vet recruits pretty thoroughly for attitude problems, those they miss are weeded out during basic training. The Army is absolutely dependent on trust and I certainly wouldn't want one of these scumbags watching my back.
An Army-run camp could be entertaining, though, along the lines of that reality show from a few years back Bad Lads' Army, where they did an experiment to see what would happen if they subjected petty criminals to 1950s-style National Service. Worked well with some, but others were so irredeemably sociopathic that they had to be dismissed.
Edit:
And on the BBC news channel they are saying the kid who was shot to start this didn't fir first, I personally think now is no the time for this news. They don't need more ammo to try justify their actions.
That's what I heard too, but they did stress that they'll open fire if they consider someone to be a serious threat, and I understand he was armed. If that's true, waiting until he opened fire would have been absolutely the wrong thing to do as it may well have involved an actually innocent party being killed or seriously injured.
