Skyrim Not Nominated For IGN GotY

This is fair. I play on PS3, and say that it probably doesn't deserve any awards. On any other platform, however...

IGN made the right decision and I agree with it but GOTY awards really just don't matter to me, what some journalist says really doesn't change the game in any way. Just like how the reviews saying Skyrim is good haven't affected me either.

Well, that is at least something, now let's just hope it doesn't win RPG of the Year. The best possible outcome is the when a Sony "Greatest Hits" edition is issued, there are ZERO accolateds & awards that can be placed on the box.

And the Todd Howard, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“It came without prizes! It came without awards!”
“It came without accolades, props or pizazzie rewards!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Todd Howard thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe game making,” he thought, “isn't about profit or goring customers like boars.”
“Maybe our game design…perhaps…should means a little bit more!”

And what happened then? Well…in Whoville they say,
That the Todd Howard’s small heart SHRANK three more sizes that day!
And that minute his wallet felt very tight,
He ran away with those profits through the bright morning light,
And he bought himself toys! And the food for the feast!
And he SAID TO HIMSELF - those little people deserved to be fleeced!

Honestly for the PC and Xbox it deserves it. For the PS3 no way. They dropped the ball with the PS3 and all PS3 owners of the game should get an apology from Bethesda for everything

Elder scrolls isn't a GOTY.

Well, I'm a big elder scrolls fan, but this game isn't really GOTY worthy... it is simply missing one factor: "Epicness"...... Elder scroll games have always been missing that factor IMO. I guess when it comes down to it, it depends how you define epicness, in terms of scale of the world/choices available, elder scroll games are epic. But that isn't the "epic" I am referring too. The epicness that elder scrolls are missing is that hair standing, jaw dropping, heart pumping adrenaline rush.

Look at the list of IGN GOTYs, look at gamespots, gametrailers, etc. The majority of them were truly "EPIC" when playing them. Mass effect series (biased so I won't get started here =P), Metal Gear Solid, Halo series, Half Life 2, Battlefield, God of War, the list goes on. What do all these games have in common? Most obvious is action, but beyond the action are epic moments, moments in the game that causes split seconds to minutes of a adrenaline rush. Think about the ending fight in Half-Life 2, Halo, ME, and gears of war. Think about the moments in MGS series where your heart was racing trying to stay alive. Think about the times in BF1942 where you ran across the shores of Omaha dodging mortars and barely getting to the safety of a trench. THESE are truly epic moments, and sadly The Elder Scroll games simply don't support this.

Skyrim is probably the best example of the lack of epicness, for all those that completed the main quest line, did you feel a adrenaline rush? heart pounding? I know that when I finished the MQ line I said to myself, "thats it?" For myself, Elder scroll games will always be epic in terms of the scale of the world, the lore, the history. But in terms of that blood rushing, heart stomping, hair standing feeling, no, elder scrolls needs to sit in the back seat on that one.

On a side note: If the makers of TES series collaborated with Bioware to make a game, dear lord that game would be amazing!

You are making no sense. Not Epic because it doesn't have enough action for you? Why are you playing it then? Skyrim pretty much defines what an epic game looks like. Also, BioWare isn't the best place to go to if you want any more RPG elements in your game...at least not anymore. I think that's your problem. You don't like RPGs.

Still believe Skyrim is GOTY for PS3, regardless of other peoples opinions.

Bioware is a shell of their former selves. They once made good RPG's and games too, now it's just casual lame crap that has no replay value.
