I like Skyrim and play it on ps3. No way in hell is it ps3 game of the year. With all of it's bugs plus it's ps3 specific potentially game ruining bugs you really think it could compete with a game like Uncharted3? Hell as far as a ps3 title skyrim can't compete with Uncharted 1.

Most definitely. Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Batman AC, all run 20 million times better. Thank you IGN for making the correct choice, for once.

I really wish Skyrim deserved the nomination, but in that state it's in right now, any site nominating it for GOTY is losing all credibility to me.

At least Skyrim is playable on the PS3 with or without a patch. You need PSN in order to play Mass Effect 2 because they have a save issue bug that could kill your saves without the patch, I don't see Skyrim having that issue and Catherines a joke. It's completely laughable that game is up for GOTY for PS3 over something like Skyrim.

I like the fact that they mention "technical difficulties". Wonder if they will post a follow up to the lag story now? Anyhoo props to ign for only entering the game in one catagory ( best rpg). Im so angry with Bethesda right now I hope they dont even win that.

VGA gave it GotY knowing the PS3 version is broken.

i would not put it in the complete game area, i see it as still in the beta test,

the items in my house respond,
my not havingto reload boss battles because it flying [censored] BACKWARDS like 5 times in a row
my bow droping the arrow inplace of shooting it at a critical sneak kill time
my horse 3 miles back starting a fight with a dragon wile me unknowingly taking out a bandit camp and getting set on fire ( kind of hard to be sneaking when its night and your on fire) and spending 45 min in a fight for my life while my horse just runs away scott free there needs to be a new shout that kills all horses in the game Foo Ken Hors, i would use it weekly.

I can understand this for PS3, if it were X-Box 360 or PC it'd be questionable but here for the PS3, it makes sense to not be on the list.

My copy works great and I'm sorry if yours isn't but everyone isn't having a problem.

Shame they couldn't recognize a great game and even give props in a nom...kind of invalidates whatever their choice ends up being when you don't include all the top games.

It pretty much invalidates whatever they do by not including Skyrim. I mean they picked Catherine over Skyrim, that to me is a joke.

Even when Skyrim runs great on PS3, Uncharted 3 is a better game. (Which was nominated in 6 of the 12 categories!)

This topic again? People have already laid out countless arguments about why Skyrim is a good game, but not deserving of Game of the Year. Skyrim [censored] usually choose to ignore these arguments and flame/moan/[censored]/etc. Normal Skyrim fans can usually hold a civilized conversation with the people who don't think Skyrim is GOTY, but still don't really throw down and evidence as to why it should by GOTY. *Sigh*

There can be a strong case made for Uncharted 3 but not the others, especially Catherine. I believe that IGN put that in on purpose to stick it to Beth for not fixing the PS3 version, even though those fixes take time to do and you can't rush those fixes because you'll create new problems like 1.2 did with the resistance issues.
