Skyrim: The #2 Game of ALL TIME

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 4:56 am

Skyrim probably make my top 10 .
From a technical stand point its probably top 30 .
But people seem to forget is that a review is an opinion there isn't a science to reviewing.
the game has sold 10 millions copies, the forums are packed, player reviews are off the charts too....just relish in the magnificence of ESV. it deserves its place in history as the top level rpg of all time.

PC Gamer have been paid off and they would love Bethesda games still even if they release the next Elder Scrolls with no keyboard and mouse support. It's beyond belief how PC gamer svcked upto this game, when it was released in such a [censored] state.
This is nothing new review sites do the same thing Gamespot and IGN are laughable I would never buy a game based on a review from those clowns. One just has to look at the Dragon Age 2 review to see how dishonest and in the pocket of the big developers they are.

its not a flawed list, baldurs gate is old, its still on the list, but you can't expect it to outshine the top contemporary games, and half life is a great game, but its not very recent either and lots of great games have came out since it was released, so i think the list is spot on. there's lots of great games so you can't expect a 15 year old game to be in the top 10 cause its not one of the top 10 games of all time, no way, maybe on a list 10 years ago it would of been.

Thats funny, because a good many older games do outshine their contemparies in their respective genre.

The list is wrong. The Stalker games are the best video games ever made.

Well, such lists can be very silly and biased towards flashier new games. That being said I am astonished that people still exist who don't know what Portal is.

I'm a HUGE fan of Skyrim, and it's commanded more of my attention than... than any game I can think of. Still, I'd hesitate to put it on a "best of all time" list. It's just too soon to say something like that with any kind of conviction.

None of those old games can compare to these new titles. Graphics, gameplay and mechanics are all better. Guys like you are just nostalgic about your first few games. Sure, they're fun, and all, but people wouldn't consider them if they came out today in their current state.

It is pretty stupid when people complain that after 100+ hours Skyrim gets boring.... What other game can you play for 100 hours? I have played the hell out of Skyrim at this point I do not feel like I have to play it every day but I have not played any game that drew me in for that long and kept me hooked in an enjoyable way(not like an mmo). Still though they whine that it is not a role playing game despite a huge land, hundreds of dungeons insane about of weapons armor and items, massive amount of skill trees, hundred of quests ect. It needs stats or a linear quest line to hold your hand for point A B and C to be a "rpg". There are far to many complaints on this forum about this game, the real TES fans must be playing it instead because some people mad about getting bored with their char after 100 hours or not enough variety in dungeons in what is probably the most gigantic and detailed game ever is absurd. Their expectations for Skyrim was not realistic and to call it average is insulting to the true fans and Bethesda. The best ever or #2 I might not go that far yet too soon and still am playing it compared to the other games, however it is one of the best PC games ever period.

Still the PC Gamer Magazine article was garbage leaving out Diablo 1, Realms of Arkania, Quake 2, MORROWIND!, Baulders Gate 1&2, such a low rating for both Half life games and so on.

I read the list in the PC gamer and did not like it and saw this post but I don't post here any more because too many people just post here to complain about a game they have logged 100+ hours on.

According to that theory most current RTS games would be better than the Close Combat series which is not true. Those who played it knew how tactical is was alot of what made that series great and tactical was lost. Most RTS games now play as simple rush everything style games the Command and Conquer series is bad for this.In short I would say mechanics have regressed on RTS games.

actually, if older, true rpg's had updated graphics/animations then the shallowness and simplicity of skyrim would be blatantly obvious to all because the mechanics are so flawed.

skyrim is the best rpg of all time...it offers far more real rpg experience than all the old games, its obvious you haven't really played skyrim much, its been voted top rpg of all time, lets just glory in the magnificence of the game, its clearly a masterpiece, for ever prob you can find with it, i can find 10 times more with all the old rpgs, the rpgs of today or far better than the limiting story driven old type games....story is fine, but too much emphasis on story makes for a lot less real rpg choices since you are really forced or funneled in too many areas to make for a real rpg experience...the old rpgs aren't that good compared to top flight rpg like skyrim.

I'm willing to hearing the flaws you found with Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment.

Who can forget the original Command and Conquer (1995) and it's funny sandbag exploit. This is the one game that made RTS really take off.

MTG by micropose (1997) and it's very fun game world Shandalar is still actively played and modded today by many. It is by far, the best single-player computer version of the grand daddy of CCG. http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Manolink_2.0

Dungeon Keeper by bullfrog is one of the most innovative game of it's time and I would vote it the moat underrated game of all time.

Planescape Torment has, hands down, the best story of any CRPG you would care to name. It also handily beats most movies in this regard.

I would give Skyrim the best game of 2011 or even best game of the series. But best PC game of all time? Not really.

Where's X-COM: UFO Defence? Star Control 2? X-Wing? Command & Conquer?

I guess they don't want to even list games that only older folks remember. And today games are more popular and get more attention because they've been made casual/accessible and have shinier graphics.

The list is flawed where's ma chuckie egg?? :swear:
Oohh...There was a PC version. I played MSX version. I wouldn't put it very high on TOP lists though.
