Strange Encounters #2

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:35 pm

I'm not sure if it's related to downloading the patch or just a random glitch, but today my lvl 11-13 character ran into these between The "burning house" and Windhelm:
15 wolves, 8 frost spiders, 5 bears ( one a cave bear ) 2 assassins, 1 Argonian ( that attacked ) 1 Breton (that attacked), 2 mercenaries 1 wearing plate steel, the other wearing Dwemer armor. And I have no idea how many skeevers..... AND to top it off 1 gaint, Dalhia was fighting a frost spider at the time and in ran the gaint....out very fast ran Dalhia! Their wasn't a gaint camp nearish, was I think an bandit stonghold. ( the Gaint had a red dot )

Today was one of the few day's that I concidered FT just to get where I was going! It was fun but at the same time I am really glad that Dalhia doesn't have to put up with dragons....yet anyway. And yes lvl'd up 2 times in that short trip.

Epicness! I bet you didn't have time to screenshot the action, though, did you?

If you're south of the area with the three puzzle stones and the closed gate over the chest and skeleton, and east of Fort Greymoor, that skeleton mob is near some tumbled standing stones. Up the hill north of him are other skeletons, and a couple of dead mages. There's an altar, and a few bits n bobs....
Yeah, there was a bunch of unmarked areas and I think like 2 Shrines of Stendarr in that area. :o

well....no excepthttp://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh611/Trace9569/HPIM1563.jpg I never even thought about it. If I was on pc it would have made a great video! Course my sorry self probably wouldn't have thought of it then either. And their was a couple of kill cam shots to, with the bow. I seriously don't think I'll be fast enough on the camera to get any of those, have to wait til I remember to pick up a capture card.

And one of...Zenithar maybe?
That's the one I meant. :o I think there were two of them in close proximity, right? I may have circled back and seen the same one twice, but I'm pretty sure there were two different ones. :P

Four shrines in close proximity: Mara, Stendarr, and two Zenithar - or maybe Zenithar and two Stendarr. One of them has a guaranteed flawless amethyst.... I always thought it was strange that all those shrines were so close, when you can walk for days elsewhere and never see even one.

I think it's Zenithar (the anvil ones, right?) that have 2 in the area. That area is very odd. I'm wondering if there will be an expansion (or part of one) wherein we learn about some old city that once stood there and maybe even some quests related to it.

Had a random fugitive give me his enchanted weapon and ask to hold onto it for a moment and not tell anybody i'd seen him. I sold his weapon and am still expecting him to randomly turn up and grill me for relinquishing his item. The moral of the story is to never trust anybody with your iron warhammer of sparks.

On my latest character, only just starting MQ: I was heading north in the direction of Whiterun from Falkreath, using the western road, when I kept hearing that oh-so-familiar music cue. There be dragons about! But scanning the skies revealed nothing. Turning east from Fort Sungard, I could see a dragon swooping and hovering. As I approached the mound, I realized it was Alduin, and sure enough, I could hear his conjuring words. I equipped my bound bow and took a few shots at him. I'm certain at least one landed. There was a great column of swirling light above the burial mound at the time. For whatever reason, Alduin flew away. I waited around, but nothing else happened. The column persisted, though. I continued on my way eastward. After some considerable distance, I heard the cue again. I ran back, but it wasn't Alduin, the sneaky pete. It was http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vuljotnaak, and he was attacking the Sleeping Tree camp. I managed to get in the death blow. Stopping by the tree, the which had no sap for me, I went to pick the flowers, including a nirnroot. There was a giant standing a mere pace away. He just looked at me more in sorrow than in anger. :ooo:

I've had random encounters with almost all of the races like this just from wandering the landscape. Occasionally, they attack me on sight, but more often I have to enter dialogue with them in order to piss them off. Milk drinkers...

He's always hanging out there behind the counter. I don't think he actually sells anything... other than trouble.

I encountered him once exiting Dustman's Cairn with Farkas. I couldn't keep up with him.

This has happened to me thrice. The first time I held onto it and lied to the hunter. Little good it did as the damn fool hid a mere ten meters away in plain sight resulting in his death. The second time I returned the item to the hunter, who then preceded to kill the non-hostile fugitive anyhow. The third time was the most interesting. I was in the middle of an intense fight with a dragon. Bear in mind I was interurpted twice, first by the fugitive and then by the hunter, the whole time a dragon sitting right there breating fire on the lot of us. I was so angry by the time I got the dragon killed I didn't even look to see what happened to the other two. I hope the died.

Thanks for the link . I'll see what it says on the helmet. I wonder why there are daedric alphabets on the steel plate helm though?

Child burial site in Forelhost. Rather than surrender, the Dragon Cult that occupied it during the First Era poisoned their own water supply and children per their leader's request. That was a couple hundred years ago though, so the embalmed bodies resemble little Draugr now.

I think it says' NORDPLTNORDPLT'. Maybe it's short for Nord Plate.

Ah, I see it now. They looked like stones at first glance. I see that they're miniature Draugrs wrapped in linen.

I had some odd glitch where Esbern would teleport with me when I fast traveled after the Main Quest objective where I had to escort him and Delphine to Sky Haven Temple.

So later, I had the Elder Scroll (with Esbern teleported with me), and I read it on the time wound. At the part where the 3 heroes were fighting Alduin, I saw that Esbern was in the past fighting with them and his Fire Atronach. Take that, time.

I once encountered three dudes close to dawnstar just a stonethrow away from the road, standing there with mugs in their hands and weaving their arms about like they do inside and outside of taverns. When I approached them I noticed one of them were standing there only in his underwear and one of them said to me: "Hail freind! Its good to see another merry soul enjoying this fine day." ....He said this to me while surrounded by a snowy landscape.... AND it was snowing... I was like: :slap: .....then I turned to the naked guy: "what are u!?" :poke:

Yeah it's pretty horrifying in all honesty. I only noticed it when I saw a note on a pedestal denoting the cult having to prepare children's bodies for burial. Look down, see the grave, and BUG OUT.

Not to mention reading the notes - from the head alchemist to Rahgot (yeah, the Dragon Priest himself....) and from him to her. And then seeing her skeleton in the chair.... That's the stuff of nightmares....
