Strange Encounters #2 : V - Skyrim

I had 2 dragons attack as i had just got to a Giant camp with 2 giants & 3 mammoths. luckily some of the giants and mammoths were attacking the dragons. In the middle of the combat I see a frost troll attack a mammoth. He did not last long & I finished killing all of the rest of them. Wow...

I was walking along in The Reach and saw a horse that wasn't mine start running down the mountain. I went to follow it and got jumped by at least ten Forsworn. After yelling an obscenity and using Unrelenting Force to thin the numbers, I managed to get them all down. I used Detect Dead to make sure I got all the bodies but I found even more a short walk from me. Bandits, a peddler, and orc hunters. So what I'm figuring happened is that the Forsworn slaughtered the orc hunters, the bandits killed the peddler only to get ambushed by MORE Forsworn, so the ones who took out the hunters joined in their mountainous pursuit, then I showed up and killed all of them.

I was out by Traitor's Post, east of Windhelm on the way up to the Sacellum of Boethiah to rid the area of this blight. After cleaning out the Post (again), I was assaulted by the usual pack of Frost Trolls, but then in dropped a dragon, who was figthing some necromancer, then another Frost Troll fighting a Bandit Chief. Needless to say, it was busy enough, but with sufficient distraction, eventually resolved in my favor. And that was just before breakfast......

As for that puzzle... where was it on the map? What kind of loot inside (I know it's random, but still.. high/low quality or what)?

Strangest was when I found Meeko's Shack. It was late at night and everything was very dark. Just as I stepped inside I heard the scream of dragon overhead. I quickly turned to look out the door only to be shocked as a blood dragon "fell" out of the sky right in front of me. From all appearances it was attempting to land, but whatever happened, it died on impact. I was so angry I wasn't recording at that very moment. I kind of doubt I'll see it again.

Last night while on a trek from the college of Winterhold to Windhelm, a dead Horse fell from the sky, bounced back up in the air about 30-40 feet and landed a good 10 feet away from me... weirdest thing I've seen in a while in this game... maybe a giant hit him? haha

I've seen a mammoth standing on top of the little shack in Witchmist Grove once. The hag living there did not like it one bit and was shooting it in the face with ice spikes. The mammoth did not care at all, but I found the whole thing rather amusing.

Also, after selling Ysolda some sleeping tree sap, and following her out of her house, she suddenly just shot off into the air, bounced off of the roof of Breezeholm, clipped through the roof of Warmaiden's and sailed over the wall near the main gate. I re-loaded to see if it would happen again, and it did, except she never got over the wall again. She also didn't react, or even injured, to any of this.

Thought it was strange come across a heavy armor bounty hunter after me. It was result of helping a farmer/ merchant fight of group of bandits. The farmer must of reported it to jarl.

I don't remember exactly where it was, but it was generally in that basin area west of Whiterun. I didn't try to attack it, but I had no interaction options.

The other day I saw a dragon attacking a giant but when I got to close to the giant attacked me. After I killed the giant the dragon landed beside me and laid down on the ground and put his head down. It was strange, the dragon just laid there looking up at me.

No word on where his journey starts but his destination is Hamvir's Rest. He apparently travels through The Reach to get there, and I've seen him as far southwest as Markarth but I'm also pretty darn sure I've seen him in Falkreath, just past the falling rock trap that bandits have rigged not far from Falkreath's capital.

Also apparnetly he interacts with his surroundings, commenting on enemy deaths by saying "Finality...." or something and if he doesn't reach Hamvir's Rest before dawn, he says "Such an end to our game."

And it's worth noting that it's hard to keep up with him without a horse, unless you sprint constantly and spam the Whirlwind Sprint. Presumably he makes the trip out to Hamvir's Rest every night, but not sure if it's from where he last left off or the same spot every time. In any case, it's kind of sad. >:

A tip:
When under the effects of the become ethereal shout, your stamina does not depelete while sprinting.
Makes it easier to keep up with the guy

I've had this happen to me as well. Felt kinda awesome, but then I'm a staunch supporter of Paarthurnax these days.

I've had a strange encounter where I was running along the road with my follower Marcurio and we had one of those random encounters where there are 3 Imperial soldiers and a Stormcloak prisoner. Without me even drawing a weapon Marcurio attacked and killed the 3 soldiers and let the prisoner run off. The first time this happened I thought it was just some bit of glitchy mix up, but he did it again! Apparently he sympathizes with the Stormcloaks even tho I am pro-Imperial... :huh:

Are the adds usu hostile or just neutral like that one? He didn't move around at all either. He wasn't frozen, but he didn't walk/run in any kind of path.

I had a strange travel home to Whiterun from Solitude. At one point, I saw a dead khajiit lying face down...with his tail hovering a foot off the ground, still gently swaying.

Later, more cool than strange, I saw Aldun trying to raise a dragon feom a burial mound, complete with pink and purple magic swirlies coming up from the mound. I threw a firebolt at him, but it passed through, indicating we couldn't fight. A short way down the road, I was attacked by a named dragon, presumably the one which was just raises. Great scripted content, Bethesda.

If you're south of the area with the three puzzle stones and the closed gate over the chest and skeleton, and east of Fort Greymoor, that skeleton mob is near some tumbled standing stones. Up the hill north of him are other skeletons, and a couple of dead mages. There's an altar, and a few bits n bobs....

I rather like Olaf. He after all perpetrated a "con for the ages" - and got away with it, at least until the Dragonborn decides to join the Bards....
