The Dark Brotherhood... better in Skyrim or Cyrodiil?

Also
Spoiler
Astrids sudden character change. the whole time she is "lets kill the emperor. It will give the Dark Brotherhood its former glory back" and a few quests later she is "yeah I betrayed you and the whole Brotherhood and got everyone including my husband killed. My bad"

Spoiler
It's the classic I thought I was doing the right thing to help but ended up screwing everyone. A common mistake made by inept leaders in ardious times.

I vastly prefer the DB in Oblivion; in Skyrim, the questline is boring and predictable, whereas in Oblivion, there were creative quests at every turn. Also,
Spoiler
Because I was genuinely shocked at the death of Lucien Lachance, but when I found Astrid dying, I had little to no empathy at all, for her or the other members of the sanctuary.
In Oblivion, killing everyone to get rid of the corruption in that sanctuary was pretty hard to do the first time around, as well.
Also, using unique methods to kill targets, having the option to use poison apples... those far eclipse the bland quests of Skyrim's DB.

I personally like the Oblivion DB better, simply becuase they felt more like a group of cultist assasins, not payed murderers. In Oblivion, they always seemed to praise Sithis and the Night Mother whenever you talk to them, but not so much in Skyrim. I did prefer the quests of Skyrim though. I felt like a COMPLETE idiot when Lachance told me I just killed most of the DB leaders...

I did too. He popped up all mad and I was like, "what the hell you all mad about? You told me to kill these guys."

Oblivion.
In fact Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild where some of the best quests I've played ever, even considering other RPGs.

Needless to say these guilds in Skyrim disapointed me.

Same, when he explained what I did, I was like '' Oh....oh, crap. I think i messed up...friends?''

In a way I kind of prefer Skyrim. The theme of transforming from a gang of thugs to a real supernatural cult is kind of creative.
