Oblivion by far, for me. Better NPC's, less humour and happiness, better armour/better colour/weight/enchantments... Dawnstar just feels too big, and empty. Good quests though.

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works and say Morag Tong was better than both!

I love both the DB in Skyrim and the DB in Oblivion, but I must admit I prefer Oblivion's. I thought the characters were better, it felt more like a family and there quests had a bit more about them, in my opinion.

I'm going to say Skyrim. Though I really liked Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood. I played Skyrim first and the characters really grew on me. I'm still upset almost all of them died... Even poor uncle Festus... He was the best...
At least I still have Cicero to keep me company while I walk about the Sanctuary.

I've got it on old xbox game, but my laptop just wasn't made to handle it. Shame, got 3 and 4 on great deal on Steam but can't play them.

The Oblivion DBH questline was so, so much better... I used to play it just to play that one mission where you're in the manor...

Thanks for your response and i completely forgot to state my own opinion,

Basically i prefer oblivion because for me i find the storyline much more involving and also i prefer the characters and the sanctuary,i fell that the questline in skyrim is far too short and with the characters involved in that storyline i fell that they could have done a lot more with them, also i find the quests in the skyrim DB too easy when compared with the oblivion Db (spoiler) as in the quest in which you must infiltrate the prison
Some of the DB quests in Skyrim, while not as hard as Oblivion, are not exactly easy. While "Hail Sithis!" was way too easy IMO, the quests where *spoiler* you have to assassinate a woman at her own wedding. Or the other one where *spoiler* you assassinate the son of a Penitus Oculatus general. These aren't easy, especially if you want the bonus content. However, the Penitus Oculatus is a sham compared to the Blades in OB.

Yes the purification was always a hard choice for most of my characters. That is what I mean it felt like a real family, where as I wouldn't have as much of a problem purifying the Skyrim DB.

The thing i dislike most about skyrims DB, In oblivion the DB charaters realy feelt messed up, in skyrim it feels like they are just PRETENDING to be messed up... They have no emotion whatsoever in there voices, its sad realy.

Those two quests were really easy. 1. No guard is going to stop you in wedding mission (you can just walk next to the statue and bam). 2. That general guy spands his evening in dark corridors eating apples (go next to him, go sneak, press "i win" -button)

I do agree. I love that you can bring Lucien back though. I miss my old friend.
Yes! Lucien is my favourite companion in Skyrim, easily! I always wondered - does he level with you or stay at the level from when you acquired his summon?

Not sure. Never really used him in a battle. Only like to listen to him as I walk through Skyrim
