The Dark Brotherhood... better in Skyrim or Cyrodiil?

Is that the bow that's on the same guy that's wearing the ancient DB armor? i've never used that bow...

Not sure. You get it during the wedding assassination. It is left for you in the tower across the place where she gives her speech.

Whodunnit? Summermist Manor
That's the one. Probably one of my favourite quests in the game.

I spent days in that manor planning each execution and had a lot of fun doing it. I was sad to see the sunshine again though

OB Dark Brotherhood is leagues better IMO.
It has a better story, better quest design, darker tone. And it's longer.

All the questlines in Skyrim suffered a shortening save maybe the TG

I would have to give the Story Line and overall feel to Skyrim. I like that you rebuild it to its former glory. I also tell myself that the new Black Hand is Me, Nazir, Babbet, Cicero, and the two other assassins. I also liked the characters way more, and I have never felt so immersed in a game than when I killed the final target.... the first time. Way better than the Purification in my opinion.

However! The Oblivion DB had some way way cooler assassinations. The Manor, obviously, being the most epic. I also loved that Vampire and Ocheeva. And why don't we get a super awesome Skeleton to walk the halls in Skyrim?

I've spent very little time with the DB in Oblivion, so take this with a grain of salt. I love just about every character in the DB in Skyrim. Except cicero. Im sending him to Oblivion! While many have argued the various guilds were better in Oblivion, it often took far too long to actually finish the questlines. That's why you see the shorter and streamlined quests in Skyrim.
Cicero is like a brother to me.

The Dark Guardian. I forgot about him and what was the name of that rat in the living quarters. I accidently killed it my first playthrough and got banned and had to fight a wraith of Sithis to get back in.

Ugh, I forgot about the Rat! I always killed it and regained entry. Worth it. Same with that damnable spider in Skyrim. I always secretly kill it or cast Fury and watch the entire Sanctuary kill it.

That's hysterical. I may try that if I can pull myself away from Morrowind and get back to Skyrim

Tribunal. The Dark Brotherhood kept respawning, and I kept killing them.

I think Bethesda made the Dark Brotherhood less hardline in Oblivion and Skyrim by making many of the members comic book psychos. It's very difficult for me to take them seriously.

Haven't run into them yet in Morrowind. Looking forward to it. Also looking forward to joining the MoragTong

The Morag Tong are my favorite assassins in TES. They are serious, Dunmer assassins. :P Also, I wore the armor I took off the DB assassins for the entire game post installing Tribunal. It's pretty cool looking (although I had a different helm).

Oblivion. Anyone else remember the quest when you were stuck in a house with people searching for "treasure?"

Exactly. I like them both for different reasons. Skyrim is less traditional, but it has a better Story Arch of rebuilding the Brotherhood and killing the Emperor. Oblivion's story was a little hollow to me, but the individual assassinations and rewards were awesome! They required some more field work. Like killing the Skooma addict. You had to find out his schedule and find a place to kill him. Nothing in Skyrim DB has that kind of depth in a single assassination.

I think the TRUE question is whether the Thieves Guild is better in Skyrim or Oblivion.
