Is there any information as to whether or not we can Dual Wi

why must there be a strength requirment ??? did you need a strength requirment to hold a mini gun or any otehr high weapons ?

They're adding attribute reguirements to weapons now, I hear. Guns can be pretty heavy...especially a mini gun.

Oh I hate dual wielding when I cannot go slow-mo and do parkour around the place but if others want dual wielding then I'm not going to say no just cause I don't like it.
I'll just ignore that it's in the game.
What harm is it gonna come to me or you if it's there?

And no I'm not saying every single thing that people suggest should be in but is dual wielding actually a hard thing for them to implement?
If not then they could just do it.

Adding something like rock-climbing or drivable vehicles or mounts or scuba gear or jetpacks is a lot harder to code and animate and what not and it's something that most probably is best to just leave out since they don't have a lot of time left until the game is released.
But adding in a feature to dual wield can't be that hard (Or maybe it is) so if they got time for it then I'd be glad that people who want it actually got it.

I like Duals i hate Bullet time

id rather have soemthing that speeds it up and watch it in sonic speed

I think the "It's not [Game]" statement, with no backup, should be grounds for trolling. It's an attempt to try and shut down the arguement and offers nothing to the debate.

I personally don't have a "Universe Compatibility" issue, as I'm one of those misguided types who thinks anything can be made Fallout Compatible if worked and worded correctly, as I have a gameplay mechanic issue.
With DW in there, just for arguement, does this mean we attack twice in VATS? That we see an increased drain on our ammo pool? Does the left trigger while goes to another fuction automatically the trigger for the gun now or do both guns fire from one trigger press...?
I think it's just too complicated for the current engine.

ive played games on older systems where dual wielding was doable and they had either diffrent trigger buttons to shoot or same trigger button to shoot or both (toggle in option menue) im pretty sure the hardware ewe have now days can more then handle it

While we're at it, lets dual weild mini-guns that shoot mini-nukes

But seriously. If it was a trait in the beginning that was optional (which makes enemies dual wield also so you cant overpower) then sure.

Personally, I'm against the idea, its something made for Saints Row and the like. Fallout is an RPG not an Action FPS. Not intendedly anyway

And again the topic is about LIGHT WIEGHT SINGLE HANDED WEAPONS not big clunky unwieldable unless used with 2 hands!

I don't think it's a matter of "can we do it" anymore, as "should we do it", seeming as a good half of might set fire to the dev studio.

why would they set fire to the studio that creates the fullest of games I've yet to hear about / play

who has made a game that is more full in content and WORKS other than something made by Bethesda?

I used to say "It's not [game]" at some topics before but I think I also gave some form of explanation even if it was small.
(I'm not 100% sure and I can't check it out either because I can only look 200 posts back on my profile)
(So I'm not going to bother looking after them, let's just say I might have trolled with that argument once or twice myself.)
(But I have been cutting back on it though.)

I happen to like Bethesdas work, thank you.
And don't underestimate The Brand Of Fan That Shall Not Be Named. If something displeases them, their cries can be heard across the valley, chilling the souls of all that hear it their vengeful howls.

I did support my argument. This isn't CoD because the premise of Fallout isn't about guns or even killing people. It's about survival and guns help you survive. I really don't care what badass weapons I get as long as they work efficiently.

Because the fine folks at Obsidian, several of whom worked on Fallout and Fallout 2, are going back to the system in those games- a system where every weapon has a strength requirement. Enjoy. :D

did you need a strength requirment to hold a mini gun or any other heavy weapons ?

Not in Bethesda's Fallout 3...but you will in Obsidian's New Vegas. Again, enjoy. :D

Yay to complexity! :D

I really like the STR requirements but I wonder if they'll actually be a win or a fail.
I mean, say minigun has 8 STR and you have 7 and you the weapons has a little bad accurcy.
What if the weapons has the same sway at 1 as it had at 7?
Would be a major fail in my opinion.

The whole point of Dual Wielding in NV is moot since the development of NV probably complete and there's little if any chance we'd see it in the Vanilla game.

As for the DW concept itself, I'll leave whether or not it belongs in a fallout game, to the hardcoe fallout philosophers, but personally I don't mind seeing it as long as it's done right.

If they do choose to implement it in some future DLC, I hope it's handled somewhat realistically.

The obvious advantage is that you double the rate of fire and you have double the ammo capacity, but it should come at the cost of double the reload time, the inability to aim down the sights, and a penalty to the accuracy/spread since you are only using one hand and not 2 to hold each gun steady.

I'd also add to the disadvantage/penalty the inability to use vats with it, as aiming while dual wielding I think is or at least should be nigh on impossible to do with any degree of accuracy. I believe most people when aiming tend to focus more with a single eye to help cut down on the distractions and also to help ensure that their line of sight is down the barrel of the gun and not from the bridge of their nose as it usually is when using two eyes.

I don't mind DW being enabled in vats, as long as the aiming is restricted to the body, similar to how FO3 prevented you from aiming at a specific body part when using unarmed and melee weapons in VATS.

I figure dual shooting pistols should only be fairly accurate in medium to close ranges and the only reason someone should dual wield pistols, in practical terms is if you have an abundance of pistol ammo and a single pistol does not pack enough punch or rate of fire to dispatch your opponents quickly. It would basically be a poor man's alternative to an SMG.

If we were actually being tactical. DW would be used to clear rooms AT close range and not sharpshooting. Just saying. It can work, just not as effective or ammo efficient. Stop using COD(because despite COD being the only FPS that has DW and there are no other games that do ::rolleyes:) as leverage in an arguement JUST because it's in a popular game.

Grah. I hate the idea of this crap. Apart from some VERY experienced shooters, using two weapons at once is stupid. Certain situations, like defending multiple entry points, or laying down a decent amount of firepower without a decent weapon. Shooting two weapons puts alot of "stupid" fire down the range. I, for one, would like to put two shots into a guy accurately, and move on, instead of this flashy crap. Why waste eight rounds when I only need two? I don't like the whole idea of dual wielding. I suppose for certain characters, that makes sense, but why implement a "tacticool" feature in a game where ammo is supposed to be important? Let's be real here. There is no real arguement here.
