Three most simple easy changes that would improve the game f

Just so you know, you can turn off your quest markers by simply de-selecting the quest in your quest log.

Yes to the rest though.

#1: Give monsters armor ratings above zero, and give enemy NPCs better perks and reasonable skill levels. A level 40 bandit chief should have more than a 25 in heavy armor.

#2: Lower Destruction magicka costs and scale the impact perk WAAAY down to where it does not cause stunlocking. 1/3 of caster destro skill sounds about right. Scale up destro damage (modestly) to prevent the "paralyzing pea-shooter" effect of what should be the most dangerous magic skill in the game.

#3: Repair melee/archery damage calculation to not have so many multiply signs in it, and convert/reveal armor ratings to display the damage mitigation as a % rather than an abstract number.

Just a few off the top of my head. I plan on modding in some legacy-style spells like levitation and featherfalling, and will probably mess around with reinstating Mark and Recall through scripting effects. Need to put a map marker up on the world map!

-Loth

Some great ideas there.

Overall, tightening up of already existing mechanics, closing up glitches/loopholes/exploits, those things are what I would like to see, as well as rebalancing features, such as crafting, werewolves, etc.

1. better journal (think mix of morrowind and oblivion) (ui in general was done better in morrowind and oblivion).
2. items stick when dropped. ala morrowind. (personal preference) (hate knocking things on the ground, more realistic, sure... but ide prefer it my way)
3. everything else... or nothing. the game is fine. but there are a spitload of things i would tweak if i had the where-with-all.

Bring back armor and weapon repair but require that they be done at an anvil or billows. Those workstations are all over the place already so not much work would have to be done. Similar to how alchemy makes more sense now that you actually have to go to an alchemy lab.

I would say spellmaking but I don't think that is a simple fix, but at least the ability to adjust existing spells so that i can use them througout the game. I really like the flames spell and it would be nice to increase the damage as well as the magic cost (so that its balanced) and be able to use that spell viable for the entire game. Unlike in oblivion where you had different levels of the same spell you only get one of each type. Stupid oversight on their part.

First person horses and werewolves. I won't use either till a mod fixes this.

1. Allow 1st person on horses and werewolves and finishers fully.

2. Allow the Dimming of the HUD to invisible (which is nice), but allow the health\magic\stamina bar to stay bright.

3. Make a UI for the PC. i`m still shocked Bethesda haven`t fixed the pC version at all.

Speaking of hotkeys, one the things still yet to be fixed that really bugs me sometimes is not being able to bind a set of weapons or spells to one key. They've got this whole dual wield system they hyped, but they gave us an incredibly clunky method of using it with their default controls.

100% agree. It would be awesome to have 8 hotkeys and be able to set each one as a dual wield option. Each hotkey should be able to be set to Left Hand, Right Hand or have a Dual Wield setup. With spells you could then have 16 different spells, or 8 dual wield setups or any combination of those. Like maybe you want Flames set as a dual, but also on another hotkey you want Lesser Ward in your Left hand and Flames in your right. The same thing would work for people with weapons and shileds, or weapons and shileds and spells. Allowing each hotkey to be settable to either hand or dual wield would make things much more on the fly for people. More hotkeys would even benefit Bow and Arrow user because then you could have a sheild and sword spell as one hotkey, a dual wield healing spell hotkey, a muffle and an invis hotkey, 3 different bows on hotkeys and healing/stamina potions on the other hotkeys.

I don't like the favorites list very much but I would like it more if it was just there to supplement an 8 hotkey system.

I found the favourites list really annoying. Tried it once, dropped it. What was wrong with morrowind`s or even Oblivion`s way? I really hate change for change sake when it improves nothing at all and is just a buzz word.

-A map that shows roads.
-A questlog you can sort yourself (i.e. a folder for quests you don't want to do [yet])
-More comprehensible flight paths for arrows (i have no idea where i'm shooting most of the time)

There's a mod for 1 and 3.

I would really like the UI to have sortable items. Also little icons for stolen, enchanted, poisioned...

I would also love to have item sorted and divided that are containers. After you hit a certain point there just seems to be no sorting done with them.

I know these are fixed with mods, but something like that should be in the vanilla game.

QTF xINFINITY

Sure, everyone playing on PC can simply download and implement a fan-made mod, but for the other bajillion fans who play on consoles.. yeah.. it'd be nice to have something so damn simple as SORTING which has always been around in previous games not be stripped and left looking like a random pile of junk when you open a container looking for something specific.

1. Change the weapon skills back to Blade and Blunt (or the Morrowind variety, better yet)
2. Bring back attributes
3. Oh my merciful baby Zeus, if they could make it so that weather effects didn't clip through outdoor surfaces (roofs and such), it would be soooooo sick.

PS3 - PC

Make an option in the menu to either turn [OFF] or [ON] the FXAA. That way it's graphics are less blurry, but of course it will have more jaggies. PS3
Fix the Bugs for the Playstation 3. PS3
Make DLC free for PS3. .. .. *stop right there criminal scum... .. it's what i want...* PS3
Add Levitation, Mark Recall, Night Eye Spells and Acrobatics and Armor skill. Pretty please with a Daedric Longsword on top. PC
Change the Items Menu to something like Morrowinds Menu also to be able to see my Character in the item menu. PC
Alchemist Vendors now have an unlimited supply of ingredients, but harder to increase Alchemy. PC
Add Grand Master Mode. That way the game is much difficult. *hehe* PC, PS3
Add a Text Dialogue because i am tired of hearing the same voice over and over. PC
You get to build your character and i mean muscles. The more you increase skills {Smithing, One Handed, Two Handed} the more ripped you will get. Same goes for females. PC
Also i you ate a bunch of food - Bread, Mead, Meats you would get fat, and if you didn't you would get skinny. PC

Yup that's about it.

While I agree with #3 it's hardly shocking if you played Oblivion.

I would beg to differ on that, I found Oblivions UI superior in most ways to Skyrims. There were some issues, such as the tiny map window and the like but it was pretty navigable and felt a little more streamlined to me.

I find using the arrows keys on skyrim's ui to be far faster then oblivions mouse clicking.

Years of prtacitce on old school games were movement was bound to the arrow keysnever goes away.

Im a wasd gamer, always have been. If an UI isnt navigable from wasd or mouse easily then I always struggle to use it effectively. Im sure im not alone in that respect.

WASD is useful for lists and i find myself using WASD alot myself. It is however horrible if you are playing a game with a grid inventory system like morrowind or Deus Ex or the STALKER games along with a bunch of others. I prefer the grid method myself because i can easily move my mouse cursor over any item and it instantly tells me the info in a little window......at least that how most games do it. List inventories just mean alot extra useless scrolling once you get alot of items in there. Bethesda didnt even bother to have your equipped items located at the top of the list which is pretty much what EVERY OTHER game does.

ugh STALKER's inventory, reminds me of the abominal days of Neverwinter Nights, the grid is such a terrible idea becuase most companies make it absurdly small.
