Why, dammit? This is by far and away the most irritating thing on these forums. People are always complaining they want choices and options, but when they choose to go stupid with enchanting and smithing there's calls for them to be nerfed/removed from the game. But then, when things are nerfed/removed from the game, people complain they've been nerfed/removed from the game.

1, Allow player to select features and assets at start- like Fallout NV did wth hard core, only with a greatly expanded concept. Let the people have what they like, be it chameleon, acrobatics,et etc.
2, Bring back character features that add to character building, because, in a RPG character building is almost everything. Stars, attributes, racial disinctions and abilities. Bring back magic spell creation and more magic spells.
3, Bring back the finger pad of choice.

Stars are in the game via the stones
atrributes are still in the game only merged with the skills/bars they influenced
All races still have thier racial only powers, and each race/gender combonation has its own run speed

but i agree on the more magic spells part

then lets make stars lore friendly by choosing them when we make a character
those 3 bars are pathetic excuses for attributes (so were oblivion's but they would be drasticly redone if bethesda was not so lazy with them [they were lazy with attributes, in every TES game they are lazy with attributes])
juwt because a race has a power does not mean it is distinct from other ones, every race is treated like a nord (to quote dunmer) outlander

1. Birthsigns were only in Morrowind and Oblivion, most ES havent, its more Lore Firendly to not have them

2.
Strength in past games effected Melee Damage and Carry Weight.
-In Skyrim, Melee Damage is improved by adding perks to the appropriate weapon skill, and Carry Weight is improved by putting points into Stamina.
Conclusion: The effects of the Strength Attribute are still in the game.

Endurance in past games effected overall health and fatigue.
-In Skyrim, Health and Stamina just have points put directly into them.
Conclusion: The effects of the Endurance Attribute are still in the game.

Agility in past games effected Bow Damage as well as your chance to not be staggered in combat.
-In Skyrim, Bow Damage is effected by putting perks into the appropriate Archery perks, and there is a perk that improves your chance to not be staggered in combat.
Conclusion: The effects of the Agility Attribute are still in the game.

Intelligence in past games effected your overall Magicka pool.
-In Skyrim, you put points directly into your Magicka pool.
Conclusion: The effects of the Intelligence Attribute are still in the game - implemented literally in the same fashion as past games.

Willpower in past games effected your magicka regen.
-In Skyrim, there are perks that improve your magicka regen.
Conclusion: The effects of the Willpower Attribute are still in the game.

Speed is not in Skyrim as it has been in past games. However, a higher Stamina allows you to sprint for longer, so it is simply implemented in a different fashion. Not different enough to call it a "lack of depth".

The Luck Attribute effected every other small Attribute in a small way. While there is no effect to do this in Skyrim, Luck wasn't a unique Attribute in and of itself. It was the epitome of redundant.

Conclusion: All Attributes from Morrowind and Oblivion still have their effects in game. They were not removed. This cannot be disputed. Any attempt to do so is completely ignorant to the way Skyrim works, and it is not a valid argument.

An argument that states you don't prefer the way it is implemented in Skyrim is 100% valid, as the preference of one implementation over the other is completely subjective.

But to claim that the effects of Attributes isn't in the game is a 100% lie. Anyone who continues to claim this is someone who is showing their colors as wanting nothing more than to complain about Skyrim, and they don't have a credible opinion. It's an absolute load of crock to say that the effects of Attributes no longer exist.

3. All races HAVE to be treated the same

1.More non-scaled/unique items/artefacts in dungeons.
2.Re-instate many features that were streamlined out. Im thinking of certain skills (acrobatics), stats, and especially magic (Spellmaking/many core spells removed e.g mark/recall, open/lock, charm, water walking)
3.More detailed/improved journal

mark and recall along with levitation and probably slowfall with it wont come back, they break the scripted nature of the ES games. Bethesda has said this several times.

Also now that lockpick is its own skill the return of open is slim.

I didn't think so, but they do make the game like so many others, and it does get repetitive. Its the kind of thing that is interesting the first one hundred times...after that, you just wait until it's over and can move again.

well, the first person ones never work right. Usually, I get a really quick attack and wind up forzen for 3 seconds for no reason.
The third person ones, I get to see my legs, or part of the wall at least a third of the time, and I'll see the exact same kill in the next room or two, as I've seen it 23786457832 times before.

And I don't get the option to turn it off or otherwise avoid it.

How is that NOT bad?

To each his own?

Fallout 3 doesn't bother me as much. It only happens in VATS, so if I get sick of it, I just real-time fight, which most of my characters have to do anyway. I do have one that can sneak in a room and snipe the place clean. But it's a VATS-only thing.

Skyrim takes my control away while I'm fighting multiple opponents in real-time to do slow motion stuff, and it's the same animation that I'll get in 3 more seconds when I bash the next draugr's head in. It destroys the flow of my combat, and doesn't feel at all rewarding when you see the same move 2-3 times in each room.

1: A usable map with roads and the like which is more than eye candy.
2: more/higher armour ratings on more enemies. Dragons and constructs at least should have armour if only to make the mace perks worthwhile. Not sure how hard/easy it will be to implement such features.
3: more poison resist/cure potions/ingredients. My melee characters dread contact with groups of Falmer and their pets as their poison stacks wrack me if I don't keep guzzling potions.

1. No (or very little and well implemented, such as stilt striders) fast travel and have relevant quests modded to bare this in mind - sorry but I want to go on a journey and not be an errand boy for everyone in Skyrim. Lugging loot back and forth, back and forth is just boring - once I'm headed in a direction I want to keep heading in that direction (which may or may not branch off elsewhere) and have to see it through, completing side-quests as natural distractions I pick up along the journey - something Morrowind did very well.

2. Been said - the Fallout 3 hotkey setup works far better than the new system.

3. Evolution of relationships and places - once you've spoke to most people it very rarely feels as if there's anything worth speaking to them about again.

1. Require the PC to complete a certain number of radiant quests before advancing to the important stages of the guild questlines.

2. More cooking and crafting recipes that can be discovered in books or through completing quests.

3. Enemies making slightly more strategic use of spells and potions (healing their allies, etc.)
