Tullius is a big poopyhead

I could write something about the Romans view on masculinity in, ehrm, intimate relationships, but I'm not sure we want to take the thread in that direction...

I don't mind. Go ahead.

General Tollius is naive and ignorant. He does not study his enemy to learn of how to battle against them.
To which gives him up to an eventual downfall in my playthrough. A worthless head upon his own battle plans.

His lieutenant, Rikke, was infinitely worse. Attempting to unlawfully butcher Dovahkiin for absolutely no good reason.
To add to this list is the penitus oculatus commander, Maro, whom will slaughter your kindred family in the brotherhood.

Then last but not least is the power hungry elder council member, Amaund Motierre, that has no doubt used a sacrificial decoy to avoid you.
In general the imperial legion is descipable and unhonourable. Even Ulfric's racism pales to the general injustice of the empire on it's citizens.

Well. Let me put it this way. It wasn't so much about being male or female, as in being passive or active. For men, that is, I don't think they expected women to be anything but passive :/

So if you were having fun with a man or a woman really didn't matter. If you were, well, on top, you were masculine, if you were the one with another man on top of you, you were considered effeminate.

He captured Ulfric at the beginning of the game, and the only reason Ulfric wins in the Stormcloak playthrough is because he has the deus-ex-machina known as the Dovahkiin.

PLus, y'know, he's a general, not a politician.

His lieutenant, Rikke, was infinitely worse. Attempting to unlawfully butcher Dovahkiin for absolutely no good reason.

That wasn't Rikke, and the Brotherhood are psychotic murderers, not sadly misunderstood goths holding hands and singing Kumbaya,

Motierre isn't a member of the Imperial Legion, and the rest is just conjecture. Clueless post is clueless.

I see no problem with this.

It makes six bad :|

Imagine going all "Oooh, who's gonna be on top? I wanna be on top because the last three times gave me self esteem issues"

By the way, pants were effeminate because only women get cold legs... easy to say when you live in italy

I'm not overly fond of Tullius or Ulfric to be honest. I'm half way through the Civil War chain, again, and I think I'm just going to start over and avoid it. Personally I think its is the most underwhelming chain in the game. Probably just roll a new toon, again. Still trying to find the right "look" for my Nord.

I'm going to be serious for a moment in this silly thread.

Bethesda did a pretty good job setting up the civil war. You have the Aldmeri Dominion, the Great War, the White-Gold Concordant and the banning of Talos Worship. You have the issues with Hammerfell and then figures like Ulfric. It's all set up well enough that people will be arguing over who's right and who's wrong for years to come.

So why is it, then, that when I look at the actual implementation of the civil war within the game itself, it's one of the most underwhelmingly pathetic things I've ever seen?

Blasphemy! Yes, I'm guilty of it too.

Oh yeah... The setup is freaking fantastic. Seriously, you have the makings of an almost Total War kind of game here. A Ken Burns decides to make a documentary about it kind of scenario forming. Seriously, major kudos on the story intro. Yet, the implementation is surprisingly underwhelming. Maybe they just ran into engine, interest, and or budget, limitations so they just couldn't go very far with it?

Was hoping a "real" civil war would appear in one of those game jam videos.

Spend some time in Windhelm and you'll find Ulfric is a terrible leader, the blatant rascsim and starvation is a solid indicator.

Hahaha... Nice thread title. Yeah, I think he's an anus too... but, for some weird reason, I'd rather fight for him than Ulfric.

It's the questlines I think, it's very bland and repetitive even though the conflict itself is interesting. The two sides of the questlines have very few differences in practice. Conquering forts is the largest part of it and all the "sieges" for taking territory are pretty much the same. Especially since you clean out bandit forts in the same locations all the time while adventuring, the only difference is you aren't alone and you aren't fighting bandits.

It's a shame too, it could've easily outshined the other questlines as I found it fun even though the quests aren't the best. I hope the Dawnguard v. Vampire questlines will have more success in making an interesting faction conflict within the actual game.

Am I the only one who thinks the main quest svcks? Its not even interesting... The game imo would of been allot better if they focused it around the civil war rather then dragons.. I mean a dragon attack once in awhile would be awesome... in a major civil war setting.. instead we get a pretty boring Dragon born main quest.. and pretty repetitive intresting side quest..

I'm not a fan of the main quest either. Hell, I'm not a fan of being Dragonborn. I avoid the main quest like a plague, and have yet to even see a dragon.

No, I don't think you are. There a lots of people in this forum who say that. I personally don't think it *svcks*, I just don't think it's what makes the game great. Anyhow, what does this have to do with Gen. Tullius Poopyhead?

Same here!

Yeah I stopped with the main quest after the first time I beat it... It svcks not being able to buy Breezehome when you avoid the main quest... since you know...it requires it..

It was a rant.. I should of quoted the person above me with agreeing that the civil war is interesting while i compared it to the main quest. Its off topic I know.

Um, really? Someone finds the civil unrest part of the game more appealing than the dragon part, and that's your solution? You can't play the Civil War without starting the Main Quest. Invalid solution is invalid.

No, you can avoid the MQ whenever you choose. If you have to key off the Dragon attacks in order to deliver a message to a certian Jarl, then so be it. But there's nothing that says or forces you to advance the MQ beyond that. I played the CW all the way through, and the only part of the MQ I had to initiate was killing the Dragon at Whiterun.

I've completed the whole MQ for the achievo, but other than that, I don't initiate it.

My solution is perfectly valid, you're just locked in a spiral of frustration and misguided self-importance.
