Unofficial DLC Discussion [spoilers] - Thread #2

I would be interested in them fleshing out the vigilants of stendarr. It won't happen, but I would like to see a more complex vampire clan system that would either let you join the vigilants of stendarr as a vampire slayer or if you're a vampire, then work against the vigilants. That way you get 2 playthroughs.

Personally, I'd like to give the Thalmor a good shoeing.

Any DLC that's a bit Lore-heavy and far away from another save-the-world-cliché is fine with me.
I'd suggest Thalmor, Psijics (those two combined would be even better), Paarthunax, Solstheim, Morrowind, Orsinium, Cities from High Rock/Hammerfell, Rebuilding Winterhold/Helgen, Those vampires that are already mentioned here, and well.. Falmer don't really interest me and I certainly don't want a ressurection of the Dwemer.. something like that would call for a whole new Elder Scrolls and would feel too weird in a DLC..

I would say that a Thalmor/Psijics thing would be most likely in my mind. The Thalmor are major part of the world of Tamriel now and so I think it makes sense for them to have a lead role in an expansion (more like the size of Shivering Isles rather than Knights of the Nine - I think a smaller sized DLC could be something focused on Solstheim or Paarthunax/The Blades).

I'd also really like to eventually get to visit, or just hear more about even, Summerset Isle and investigate the varying Altmer factions (including the Thalmor and the Psijics).

First and foremost:
I'd like to undo the Thalmor. First kicking them out of Skyrim. And after that: taking the fight to their leaders.

Besides that:
- I'd like to see what's going on in Morrowind.
- I'd like to aid the Redgard in a retaliation invasion on Summerset Isle.
- I'd like to visit High Rock, in particular Orsinium.
- I'd like further quests involving the Psijics
- I would like to rebuild Helgen.

What I definitely don't want in a DLC:
More spells. Really if they add more spell effects in a DLC it should be free. Otherwise that DLC would easily seem like Beth is milking out extra revenue from something that should have been in the game in the first place.

I'd like to kill an Aedra. (And of course expand the lore revolving around that Aedra but mostly just kill one so that there is a massive impact on the lore as there will only be 7 divines after the DLC is over.)

No mortal kan kill an Aedra afaik. You can push them back into their realm or take them out of the picture for a while. But killing them is out of the question. An Aedra being killed by a mortal would go against the lore.

I want to see meaningful DLC plotwise. None of that Mothership Zeta garbage. I want to see DLC that exposes and creates events, that will set up and become part of the backstory of future games and novels.

The situation with the Thalmor
The ultimate fate of the dragons, and whether they are here to stay as a race or not
What happens with the empire
Events that hint at and show spillover issues that may be going on in other provinces
The eventual fate of our character

Those sort of things are what I would want to see. I don't really want rehashes/retreading old game locales fo the sake of doing so (Morrowind, Solthseim etc) unless it is justified by the plot and importance of whatever event is going down there.

I think that the Summerset Isle might be a bit too large to be put decently in a DLC.. I think that the island of Arteaum (or however you write it) might be a really good location (also considering the fact that it has dissapeared)... I think it would be a great way to combine the Psijics with the Thalmor and mayby even the Eye of Magnus.

A contiuation of the Main Quests isn't that hard to imagine, Bethesda has succeeded twice in making that sort of DLC (Broken Steel and Tribunal) so I hope they come up with something like that.

I would like to take a visit to akavir, kill the thalmor and their families and destroy all that is dear to them, solstheim, something about snow elves (the actual elves, not those horroible falmer things) umriel, visit one of the smaller provinces (I have always liked the sound of high rock)

Don't really care.
Enclave were supposed to be dead after the Oil Rig blew up but Bethesda decided to mess with Fallout's lore so I think it's right about time they mess with some TES lore.
I want to kill an Aedra and consume it's very being, I'm sure Bethesda can write up some crappy excuse like "With this ancient magic artifact you can kill one!"
Then of course after I consume the Aedra I will become the Zaedra which is a giant blob monster that absorbs anything it touches and I shall devour the world.

Yes I'm being serious.

Actually... I thought that Aedra could be killed (Daedra, for certain cannot, (and even that they were able to pull off in both Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles)) but I'm pretty sure Aedra are mortal (Lorkhan for example)

Anything that does not involve turning the Dwemer into Dwarves.

Get your Tolkien-esque stereotypes away from TES.

Perhaps a re-visit to Solstheim, but I'd personally like to see Atmora.

yh I'd second this.

Atmora definitely intrigues me.

Solsteim will be great as it is now a major Dunmer settlement so this'll be interesting to see the change. I'm guessing if they did then a boat from Windhelm would be the logical choice as Windhelm also has the Dunmer quarter.

I would mind seeing a bit of High Rock to feature. I'd like to see some real up-to-date Breton lore and I doubt they will be in any rush to make a full game featuring in High Rock as we already have Daggerfall. We have the Folsworn in Skyrim who give us a glimpse of Breton culture though they are a unique sect of witchmen. As Bretons are mostly influenced by the Celts, I'm guessing something like Gandalf type wizards / druids alongside tartan / stripe or fur wearing warriors living in stone houses covered in mud and grass

I would like to go to Summerset Isles to fight the Thalmor.

I reckon you will but in the next TES and not in an expansion. It could even be the Aldmeri Dominion which would include both Summerset Isles and Valenwood making it the biggest map yet. Expansions are usually centred on one region / race.

Orsinium would be interesting. It's a small area surrounded by mountains, so it would be a great addition to the game.
Something to do with the Thalmor. From the very beginning of the game I've always wanted to kill every single Thalmor agent.

Maybe quests for the aedra, opposite to the daedra quests, coz I always feel guilty after doing one of those. It's just that in skyrim its alot more easy to be evil then good- which kinda svcks in my opnion.

i agree with this, there should be Aedra quests and artifacts

More dwemer stuff would be good, as long as it doesn't do anything too crazy like making the dwarves return.

What I'm expecting is a DLC where you go after the Thalmor, they seem to be a remaining issue after the main quest.

Aedra are more like laws of nature than living creatures. Can you kill gravity? Or perhaps assassinate electromagnetism?

Conqeuring Summerset Isle is probably better left in our imagination, unless TES turned in to a RTS. But ridding Skyrim of their influence might not be out of the question. But really after the MQ is over, what thalmors are left to purge? I reckon we should go down the path of dwemer & falmer conflict.

I love the idea of a Falmer uprising. They rise from the ground at night like Morlocks and pick off travellers, waging guerilla warfare on Imperial troops and bandits. I'd imagine that in some added DLC there'd be a few intelligent, civilised Falmer left, a few who grew immune to the poison. The corrupted Falmer would treat these few like royalty. You could talk to them and they'd reveal the truth of their history and so on, and it would be up to you to either help them fight and escape to the North, Atmora or somewhere similar, or to lead the way to exterminating them entirely.

Out of all the unanswered questions raised in Skyrim, 'What's Morrowind like now?' is the one which interests me most.

I would say the Thalmor are quite likely to reappear in a future DLC. Maybe not actually totally defeating them, but certainly foiling one of their evil plots.
