Unofficial DLC Discussion [spoilers] - Thread #2

Actually... I thought that Aedra could be killed (Daedra, for certain cannot, (and even that they were able to pull off in both Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles)) but I'm pretty sure Aedra are mortal (Lorkhan for example)

Lorkhan was more or less killed by his peers. One might even dispute whether he's really dead or not, since his power is certainly still around, and if he'd really be dead his power would be null.

If you want to kill Aedra/Daedra, then you'll probably have to be Aedra/Daedra yourself. Other than that it's not possible. No mortal has ever really killed an Aedra or a Daedra. You might seem to kill one in some instances, but all you're really doing is pushing it back into a realm and/or take it out of the picture for a while, certainly not kill it.

I'm liking the idea of Orsinium too.

I'd like to see more of the Thalmor and Falmer and I'd love a trip to any of the other provinces (or Daedric realms) too. However, I'd be extremely happy with an extension of the guild quest lines. For instance:

Spoiler
The College of Winterhold introduces what might be the most significant piece of new lore in the entire game. The Eye of Magnus is an immensely powerful... thing. It doesn't fit with the Towers, the dwemer disappearance or any prophecy revealed to us... and it's just snatched away before we understand anything about it! As a result, the questline feels unfinished and unexplained.

The Thieves Guild's quest line is my favourite in the game (despite the bugs) but it ends with Karliah repeating that we owe Nocturnal and forewarning us of attacks on the Twilight Sepulcher and Nightingale Hall. The Sepulcher itself contains a portal to Nocturnal's plane of mystery, the Evergloam. There are quite a lot of plot possibilities open with that setup.

Similarly, the Companions questline links players to a Daedric Prince and towards the end, the player frees an old man's soul from Hircine's grip. Hircine... whose 4th era Hunt has not yet happened.

The Bard's College has the widest presence in Skyrim but when you arive there, there's so little to do. It's not even considered a 'proper guild'. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd welcome a few new songs for the various Skyrim bards to sing and an expanded storyline.

I have yet to complete the Dark Brotherhood questline on any character, but I'm sure there's potential there too.

I think it would be really cool if there was some possibility to make Skyrim `stable`.
I mean we have Thalmor, Falmer, Forsworn, Empire, Stormcloaks all fighting with each other.

It would be awesome if all those factions took part in some final conflict if you know what I mean.
You could of course pick a side so it would greatly add to to depth. :tes:

Heres a thought. I see "Stray Dogs" on the road sometimes and have no idea where they live, and their fairly useful as a third party member while on the open road. So when I tell them to "Go Home" I have no idea where to find them again, save for Meeko. Perhaps a patch or DLC that allows us to take a dog back to one of our houses and tell it "This is you'r new home. I'll take care of you now," or something like that and then name the dog. so when you tell it to go home It'll be wandering you're house like your House Carls. One dog for each house if you can find them ya know?

isn't there already a dog companion?

Aedra are more like laws of nature than living creatures. Can you kill gravity? Or perhaps assassinate electromagnetism?
Since it's a game of magic and fantasy stuff with "gods" I'd say yeah I'm pretty sure I could kill gravity.
So I'm sure I could trap a law of nature inside a human form with the correct form of crappy writing and magic and then kill it and become a giant blob monster.

Beth made you a daedric deity in the previous TES, how would being an Emperor be more complicated than that?

Because in SI you mantled and became Sheogorath. If you became the Emperor, what would the future games say? An Emperor of unknown race, name and gender took power by some unknown device or method, but nobody really knows anything about them? Bethesda would have to change lore to reflect one particular outcome.

There is a reason that the protagonists have been unknown individuals who tend to disappear after they complete their destiny.

The player is a hired mercenary, leading an expedition of soldiers and their families to rebuild Skyrim away from Thalmor influence - in Atmora.

Some continuation of the Thalmor story line would be great, finding out their motives, providing some quests into stifling/ assisting in their work.

This may be linked with the above, but some continuation of the idea of reinstating Talos as one of the divines, some following of an underground cult.

I also would like to see something that explores the vigilant of Stendaar, Hunting down bad things for contracts or curing vampire’s n werewolves etc, and having some mirror quest line of a vampire/werewolf clan fighting them.
Seeing some exploration of the Falmer, how they degenerated, and perhaps the last tribe of true snow elves providing some quests would be cool.

Maybe linked with the above, some exploration of the Dwemmer could be cool. No answers need be given, but just exploring a facet of the whole culture would be ace!

I liked a previous idea mentioned about the remnants of the last Dumner houses, and maybe the rebuilding of them in the hope of returning to Morrowind and the restoration of their homeland.

The Psijic order would also be of interest, one could argue its pretty mage related, but tbh the actual game was evidently catered for melee gameplay.

The construction of Helgen would be great, certainly nostalgic for those who completed the main story.

Something relating to Daedra would be cool, but cliché, I think there are a lot of cool things they could do instead.

Some sort of content that keeps dragons as a focal point after the story would also be great, I do miss seeing them as a mysterious foe to be scared of L (this could be done from the perspective of the blades or parthulnaxx depending on player choice)

Something that looks more into the Forsworn, I like the druidic style of them, and being able to explore the aspect of them that isn’t just about taking the rift would be cool.
