I'd rather start somewhere from scratch. As soon as I have 4 or 5 people ready at once we can head out and establish a spot, and anyone else can join as they wish. Obviously the ones who are there from the start will play more of a role in shaping the style / RP though.

Depending on whether I can keep my village or when Tekkit comes I'll decide.

Obviously people can keep their own projects to work on as they feel like it. The RP would just provide something a little more centralised to bring people together.

An update to the situation with the ripoff giftcode site: They challenged Notch to Quake 3, and lost.

I'll probably join in, my current projects are all finished and Justin beat me to the desert ranch idea. And New Rorikstead is hilariously crowded and a bizarre mix of styles.

I can tag along with you, Undone and Turns and Pokoyo. I'm still doing two projects in New Rorikstead (now that it's expanded outward to essentially include my silly home) but I would also welcome something a bit more cohesive, like when I started in the World Tree map.

As for Hunger Games, if the dome is ready and so are the chests, I think we just need to organize a time - 72 hours' notice would be nice. I'll probably miss it since the busiest server timeframe seems to be weekdays while I'm at work, but that's not a huge loss since I'd surely be early fodder anyway! I can always catch the recording anyway.

To tie on with E, I'd say starting Friday night would potentially be the most practical choice, our server usually receives increased traffic. So perhaps organising it for this or next Friday night on to Sunday night is best?

i would say having at least six people would be a great number to play the hunger games with. although i know that we have been getting 10+ people on the server on tuesdays and wednesdays.

i suppose i can make an announcement on the bgsf server steam group i made when a game is about to start.

I gotta think a dozen is doable - not likely, but doable. Especially if it's pre-announced, slotted at a convenient time and well advertised.

well naturally im going be lobbying for the games to be today or tommorow as this is the only reasonable time i will be available to do such things.

also i suppose i am willing to be apart of an expidition to setlle a new town. i probably won't really be doing any rp though.

You can use the Minecraft Steam group to announce the Games if you need more people to get the match started. I'll probably be on today but if I'm not you can contact me with that.

Hello everyone. I'm new to minecraft - tried the demo and quickly bought the game the yesterday. Played a little on my own map, building a little house inside a cave with windows and everything! (that seems like a big deal to me!). Now I've ventured online to see what other people are doing. Joined your server and WOW! This is incredible. Died a couple of times wandering around the rorkistead houses in absolute awe (think I had to pick my jaw up from the floor at one point) and finally made it out.

I ran to pretty much where no other buildings were as I don't want to encroach on anybody else's construction and upset them. Not really sure what else will upset you guys though. Am I allowed to go to your constructions and have a look around? I see in this thread people getting upset at someone for looking around a glass dome, but there seems little point to me in playing with other people if I can't see what you're all making!

Anyway, let me know please if there are any big no-no's. I've just started construction (well, not really - I've started mining with a view to converting the surface level to some sort of aquatic villa in the (probably very far!) futute) on an island in the middle of a biiiig lake outside of Rorkistead. Feel free to visit and see the progress as it (slowly) updates. There might not be much going on the next few days but just you wait, this is going to be great... eventually!

Also, I just found iron for the first time. Yay! Guessing I smelt the iron like I did the glass. Just found out how to make stairs!!! Such a cool game, can't believe it took me so long to check it out.

Anyway, feel free to pop by and say 'hello', and hopefully I'll see you around soon!

The glass dome is for a WIP server game that is to be played soon, it's construction is being kept somewhat secret.

You can look around peoples structures but don't damage or steal anything, if you do damage something - fix it before leaving/forgetting.

For some reason people don't like glowstone or obsidian towers, so avoid making them purely of these blocks.

That's really all there is.

Oh and don't kill anyones farm animals/pets

Ha!

On an unrelated note, I've realised that Martyr Island (Name likely to change) is a weird one. It's a desert island with a snowy forest on it >_> (1140,65,2566 on the dynamap)

I saw that place before and planned to move there until I saw the snow forest beside it, I has a nice pond though. It's also a bit near my land :stare:

Right click on the little cog on the bottom left of the dynmap, copy link location, and just share it that way. It provides a direct link to what you are looking at, zoom level and everything.

Happy to have you playing. Exploring houses is fine, but I'd recommend against opening others' chests. Don't damage what appears to be someone's creation. Feel free to build anywhere in town, just use common sense when building near someone. Avoid building within 3 blocks of what would be considered their boundary, be it a fence or a wall. Claims of any land should be established with some sort of line, usually easiest with torches. As long as it is obviously a line, it is a claim, and building on it would be considered griefing. If you cause too much trouble after being told the rules, you will be banned from the server, at first on a temporary basis, and after being unbanned, if more trouble is caused, a permanent basis. We have quite a few non-vanilla minecraft features on the server, if you have any questions about something you see, feel free to ask.
