Werewolves are weaker than Vampire Lords! (it needs a simple

Werewolves are definitely more durable, one thing to keep in mind though is that they are beasts and they deal an incredibly amount of damage when perked. The other thing is that they have some very powerful howls the fastest speed AND most important of all they have incredibly powerful knock downs which affect pretty much every creature in Skyrim even in there current form. I have not come across anything I could not kill as a werewolf even before the DLC perks went in. You have to know how to play as one and think more as a very agile, powerful hunting animal rather than a fully armored dude.
That is great, but what about the WEREBEARS! My god man what about the werebears!!!

That's good to know. I got destroyed by the Silver Hand on more than one occasion because the knockdowns weren't occurring and they had 2 or 3 archers just wrecking me.

I know this probably won't be in this expansion, but please consider allowing werewolves to sneak in the next one (and werebears).

Thanks for the replies!

The problem is you can't be durable without some form of armor. Certain foes in the game can kill you instantly with a power attack if you're unarmored such as high level briar hearts and deathlords. I'm not asking for the 80% cap but some 40% would be nice. Turning a 300 damage attack into 180 would go a really long way.

This is actually a good point hunting animals should have the option to sneak. You can sprint across the ground on all fours so crawling should be possible, still with a heft penalty though.

I know you probably can't answer this, but I might as well ask: fully perked, are you still limited to only one howl at a time or can you switch them without praying?

In Vampire Lord form you can't use you're normal human abilities, so there is someway to switch between vampiric powers without giving you access to regular ones. It be safe to assume werewolves get the same treatment. I'm curious as to how the totems of hicrine will play out in this.

At least the atronach stone can go a long way for ice mages.

That seems like a safe bet. The demo showed the Vampire Lord opening up its favorites menu and selecting Vampiric grip from another ability.

That's what I'm hoping for. I would love for the howls to be switchable. This way I could use the howl of fear most of the time and then be able to summon a werewolf later if things got bad.

I would like to know how summoning another werewolf works? Does the werewolf appear out of no where like when you summon an atronach, or do they spawn near you and run to you to make it look a little more realistic?

I hope it works in a way that you'll howl and after a few seconds you'll hear another howl and a werewolf will rush into the fray.

This is an aside, but does anyone know how strong the Totem of Fear makes your howl? And how strong it is naturally?

If it appears like a normal summon spell, that would be pretty cheap.Better have it spawn a little bit away from your position.I hope they dont mess this thing up.

The werewolf is evenly matched with the Vamp Lord. A player who knows how to use either form and takes advantage of the perks will be incredibly powerful. Each one plays very differently though. In a straight up hand to hand the werewolf is near unstoppable as is the case with the vamp lord and his magic. They are both insanely fun and totally different but both forms make you feel like the boogey man

I will eat any and all vamp lords that cross my path, I will go out of my way to feast on their pale hide. ALL HAIL THE WOLF!!!!
Seriously though, if you put a little brain power behind your werewolf you ca destroy just about anything( and that's now before getting the tree ). I can safely say that my werewolf as of right now would kick a vamp. lords prissy but to oblivion, just wait till I get my claws on the tree.

One advantage werewolves will probably have is, leveling up the perk tree.

The Vampire Lord must hold back his destruction and be sure his drain life or power bite kills enemies to perk up. His followers or his summoned gargoyle could steel feedings by slaying enemies. I imagine a lot of frustration from 'accidental kills' with the wrong ability or and ally thus denying you the vampire xp. Plus trying to perk up a vampire lord if you're already high level could have its own problems.

While the Werewolf and his allies can finish off foes with impunity as he feeds on corpses.

This is an aside, but does anyone know how strong the Totem of Fear makes your howl? And how strong it is naturally?
Good question, not even the usep has the answer yet.

I believe it is up to level 25, but I'm not sure. I know one if the new perks makes it higher though.

Archers and Ice mages, very dangerous for every Werewolf player.

The trick is to rush em, and use a zig-zag pattern as you approach. This seems to confuse the AI, opening them for attack.

The inability to access character menus is probably the biggest issue with the current werewolf design because it prevents the player from being able to have and use a proper suite of abilities. I can understand not wanting the werewolf to have access to conventional inventory or magic, but having a large number of abilities available - some of which are circumstantial - doesn't help much if you're stuck only being able to use a single pre-selected one.

I'd say that the second biggest one is the inability to open locks (and equivalent) because it renders the use of beast form impractical in so many places.

That is how I would like it to be.

And I believe the original you start out with is level 25, and then the second one you find with that NPC is I think level 35

Okay, that explains why I always figured it was useless. I rarely arrive in a town besides Riverwood before level 20, and didn't become a werewolf until around level 40.

Doesn't Ring of Hircine only allow you one extra transformation per day and not as many as you want?

No you get an unlimited amount of transformations, you just have to constantly re-equip the ring, and then go to your powers tab, and select the Ring if Hircine power. It gets annoying after awhile.

Nope. It's unlimited. You just have to re-equip the ring and the ability and away you go!

Favorite the ring and use the power called Ring of Hircine instead of Beast form

All werewolves should utilize the Lord stone as well, it carries over into the beast form. Also, armor spells like Dragon hide carry over as well giving you a 50% damage resist fromthe Lord stone and an additional 80% from Dragon hide, add in a cloak spell like "fire cloak " or " ice cloak " and for 60 seconds you are the most powerful being on the map. And that's without the use of the " fear howl ", which makes anyone under Lv.30 [censored] their pants and run for their lives.
