 Only way that could have been bette if it was a mod/dev/admin saying it.

Yep, I was happy there were no ghost people, no creepy/annoying music (seriously in the music there was some loud machines or something in the distance, weirded me out for some reason).
And yes with veras dress, I had deans tux and thought "looks terrible all torn, I will try veras dress, luckily clothes are unisix. Oh this is more like it, too the ultralux" All I need is a cane (working on it) and boone/arcade as my butler/manservant/bodygaurd and my character will be perect for his new classy role. Made better with all the gold on my bed...

I dont know if you did this but the moment I was out and about to begin taking things back to novac I thought "wait one other thing" I then shot the madre radio, destroying it, so it wouldnt lure anyone else in.

Im working on the cane, going to the ultra lux to do "beyond the beef" for a free cane. And they have more fancy clothes. I would stay there, if only I wansnt almost banned from the casino, a few more games and im barred.

Okay ladys ill explain it as simple as i can Avellone is the kind of Director that makes a story that is deep such us teaching you lessons in greed nobility and forgiveness. He just makes it difficult for the common person to realise wtf is up .This is what causes much greef amongst the masses.Dead money teaches u to let go when there is bigger things at hand/greed leads to destruction.learn to let go in simple lol.But ill be honest collars bloody annoying

Assasin's suit? Ooh that sounds like it could be really cool.

Honestly, get the DLC. If you hate the new level cap then stop playing when you hit 30. You know you want to.

Dead money was a huge disappointment, its simply not fun, just walk from point one to point two, kill the same enemy a couple dozen times in extremely predicable formats.

I am about half way through and I quit, it was that unbearable.

Dont get it, dont waste your time on it, and dont expect any fun from it.

What a disappointment, well back off to Fallout 3.

lol well since i just switched to ps3 (played the main game on 360) i guess ill just take your word on it and the others that said it was bad. i mean why would i go spend another 60 bones on a game i already have 300 hrs in with a bad dlc i dont know if ill ever get. too bad i couldn t find out for myself. i ll just buy some used copy like 1 1/2 years from now when they put all dlc on disk in some goty additon. All excitement is gone now. Thanks for telling it like it is guys its more then ive heard from Bethesda

Obsidian made it and I found that it was more story driven than "run and gun".

Upon entering the station, my collar starts beeping, I have no clue whats happening, I run to a terminal, panic and wonder what I'm meant to do. *Boom*. Dead. ( Suffice to say, I was not impressed. )
Reloads, ran past he terminal, into the basemant. Becoming forever more annoyed at this mechanic.( Something which detracts from gameplay, forces me to keep to a path and just plain bores me? Good thinking Mr.Developer )

So, I'll skip some. I get the first follower, and my levels of disappointment are high, not beyond saving, but you have forever lost my faith.

T

You do realise you can destroy the radios making your collar beep . Its not the developers fault your a spaz.

I think the DLC is quite good, admittedly diffficult and the whole collar thing is a pain in my ass but it still, adds something new to fallout

I have finally made it to the vault. I think I have 15 hours in it so far and that doesn't include the restart (50 deaths at least) or the ending. I will say that it is worth the 10 bucks. Replay value is not high, but the first time through it will feel like a real achievement to finish (especially on hardcoe). I have never been so low on health and weapons (level 33), and so anxious to turn a corner - except maybe the Dunwich building. Even near the end the enemies are tough to take. I did notice that I can have 95% in vats on a limb and fire 4 shots and not hit anything (100 guns) and shooting a gas bomb before it blows up is impossible for me. I can't imagine someone finishing this less than 8 hours (as some have posted). I would give it a 8.5/10.

I played normal, but yes it felt like an achivement, the dlc was brutal at parts. A maze, with poison gas, lots of traps, ghost people, panicing trying to find the speakers, and the damn holograms. It felt more rewarding than finishing fallout 3s last mission which was just watching prime blow [censored] up.

Ok..Just before you all read on, this might contain spoilers. I'm new, so I don't know how to spoiler tag things yet. So, SPOILERS

Ok, I'm making an account because for the first time, in a long time I have been genuinely disappointed. I was counting down the days until this DLC was released, mocking my PC and PS3 friends about our exclusive DLC. So, I woke up quite happy to switch on my xbox and Download the Brand new DLC. I coughed up the £8(ish) required and set it on download. ( skip 10 mins....)

I load up Fallout New Vegas, excitedly waiting to embark on a new adventure, to explore and become immersed in a world I love so deeply. I load into my game and immediately set off to find the entrance to the new area. Bringing my "Kick-ass inventory" and Boone, just to complete my "Win combo". I head to the bunker and enter. The sign says the usual, like it did with the pitt. I continued and got knocked out by gas. At that point, I seen the pop ups. Boones returned to Novac. I was a little disappointed. But then remembered that their were three other followers in the DLC, so I decided to dismiss that complaint.

I wake up infront of some old man in a plain and dull environment, I listen to some hologram waffle on. ( This is were I started to lose faith. I listen to all dialogue, I experiment with every choice. But this, it bored me.) He tasks me with finding some people no problem says me, thinking I had all my awesome gear. I get control back and all I have is some pants rifle. I frowned, but continued. I fought my way paste two "Ghosts" which, took too many shots and was just plain boring and found my way to the police station.

The second follower, is in "Trap land" or as I now call it: "lets completely piss off any user ever land" with enough coins to afford one doctors bag, I decided to make the purchase ( Something which was wise...) And made my way through the area, (Light step perk made this very easy.) Having to disarm everything for the sake of my follower. This bored me. It was getting to the point where I was actually wondering if this wasn't some sick Joke. I get to the second guy. (Wounded, with low health and one stimpack ). Talk to him ( skipped dialogue, When someone as RPG mad as me skips dialogue...YEAH YOU DONE SOMETHING WRONG! ) After talking to him, he says theirs a shortcut back. Delighted at not having to fight through any dull environments and boring enemies, I followed. Only to be lead into the "Gas of fun"...I quickly lost the follower in the maze of streets and ended up dying from the gas. ( Yay...NOT ) Reload. I skip through his dialogue again and spend the next five minutes fighting my way through the same boring way which I came, to avoid going though the "Gas of stupid design choice". Needless to say, I was getting pretty annoyed.

Skip again....third follower. For this I'm not even going to explain it. I just ran, avoided everything and saved at every doorway. I rushed through, skipped her dialogue and rushed back. End of. ( Anger levels rising still.)

After collecting all the followers, the hologram man then told me I had to take each of the followers to a designated point, I took one look at my map, seen how far off it was and said No. I quit, reloaded a save a made outside of the DLC area and continued on playing the main game and exploring the "Fun, free-roaming" world with my "Cool kit".

END OF SPOILERS.

So, I can say this has been the worst purchase on DLC I have made and I am extremely disappointed. To any others having thoughts of purchasing this, do yourself a favour and don't. I'm already passing along the message to my PC and PS3 fans to pass this DLC up if and when it's released multi-platform.

TLDR version:

Waste of money. Do not get.

Wow...

If you actually listened to Elijah's dialogue in the beginning you would know how to turn off the things that make the collar go boom and you'd know that there was deadly gas around.
Also, what I quickly noticed during my gameplay was that my health was ticking down, and that I was stripped of my 90 stimpacks.
So what do I do?
I go towards DoGod and what do I see?
A clinic.
Well, being that health will constantly be ticking down I thought it might be a good idea to go there, sure enough I found a lot of nice loot and due to me combing the place clean I found the stimpack code which was really easy to find.
And well...
You got annoyed at death gas?
Go find the stimpack code in the clinic.
Find a ton of chips by looting as much as possible.
Go to that exchange machine.
Profit.
Death gas? Cake-walk, just go through it and take a stimpack after your health get's low.

Now, the collar.
I listened to what Elijah said about radio signals interfering with the collar signal.
So when I got into the police station I quickly hurried to a place where it didn't beep and then scanned the area.
Now.
What gives off a radio signal.
Oh I dunno... Maybe a police radio?
Which I quickly ran over to and turned off.

You got annoyed at the DLC because it was challenging, presented a new kind of survival aspect (equipment scarcity, collar bomb, death-gas), that you didn't explore and therefor was short on equipment and because you didn't pay attention to what Elijah said.
So dude, try it again, but this time, listen to what he says instead of skipping through it and if it's too challenging then turn the difficulty level down to Normal, Easy or Very Easy.

Or maybe the DLC just wasn't for you, maybe you don't like having to explore heavily in order to scraqe up enough food, chems and ammo in order to survive.
Maybe you don't like having a ticking time-bomb on you which requires some puzzle solving.
Maybe you don't like having to focus on dialogue in order to find out clues about the area and it's inhabitants.
But this doesn't mean everyone won't like it.

I still think you should try it again and take my advice into consideration: listen and explore and if it's still too hard for you then lower the difficulty.
The DLC is awesome up to the part right before the end. (After elevator, before Vault door, everything in between that was a pain to do (Damn those three holo-guards...))

I love that the people complaining would have made their play a lot easier if they just stop listened and thought before leaping into a situation. the traps were set so if you tried to run like a spaz you would hit the traps.

Ah yeah, Elijah even said the moment you enter the Residential area that the place was rigged with explosives and stuff.
Again: Listen to Elijah.
He might be a jerk but he is a resourceful and wise jerk.

They skip the dialouge then [censored] about the collar, then run into all the traps, then they finally get to the end and kill themselves. If they werent so annyoing complaining about things thier fault this would be funny.

This DLC is awesome. Certainly my favorite over any DLC for FO3, and maybe for any game that I have played.

Thanks MCA.

I finally finished it and I have few complaints...

1. I wish they would have told you at the beginning you wouldn't be coming back here >.<
2. That confronting Dog in the kitchens inside the Sierra Madre Casino wasn't so freaking annoying! And was explained better..
3. That the quest for confronting dean was a little more straight forward when you needed a key..
4. Better options for healing. Although I made it, it got on my nerves a few times.
5. THE OPTION TO TRAVEL BACK! At least to the villa areas.. <- Only Major complaint.

Other then that stuff (Which was mostly minor) I found it to be a ton of fun! I would give it a 8/10.

What part of the dog kitchen was annoying? Finding the valves svcked, but I am interested in what exactly bugged you. I thought Deans quest was pretty simple, compared with Christine's. The executive suit was a tangled mess for me.

blackfoot how did you do Christines quest. Im stuck in executive suit and its pissing me off.

On topic. I thought obvlivion did well on this DLC. Its hard but i find for most of the radios that are annoying people, you can just run right past em and continue. [For MOST of the radios] And i wish we could go back to Sierra Madre after we go back into wasteland and i wish we could take companions with us to the wasteland but apart from that great DLC
