and I chalk up your post to total opinion since not only are you not the first person to think that way, but you like the others never produce examples or post detailing this. almost 100 percent of the time peeps like you think that if someone does not like Oblivion They are INSTANTLY Morrowind fans, and to be quite honest there really aren't that many. Nor do I think you have an inkling of why people like Morrowind to this day when shored up to Superior Graphics and Game mechanics.
I'm the first person to think that way? I take it you don't read many posts then. I've also had plenty of posts, not to mention threads even (for Skyrim even) detailing these concepts.
As for the generalization, Morrowind fans are 1.) More abundant by a longshot than people who enjoy let alone even played Daggerfall 2.) VERY vocal even as a minority. It's not an assumption, it's simply playing the odds.
As for reasons why people enjoy Morrowind over Oblivion I certainly understand, as a lot of the reasons aren't exactly subjective (EG procedural generated landscapes of Oblivion versus hand made landscapes of Morrowind). However, it isn't to say that they don't share a LOT of mechanics. Morrowind and Oblivion share far more similarities than say Daggerfall and Morrowind, or Daggerfall and Oblivion. Hence why they're the "odd ones out" in terms of mechanics. I also personally thought the concept of forced gameplay/min maxing was atrocious for a system in Morrowind/Oblivion, hence my feelings towards Skyrim returning to a much more "streamlined" but functional and logical system ala Daggerfall.
