Because I was interested to know why there wasn't much activity from some of the older (not age, but time since becoming a member of the forum) members on the Skyrim general discussion.
Seen as though 90% of activity is from people that have joined this year.
Was interested to know where the contributors that I may remember from the Morrowind and the pre-Oblivion days were.

Well, some of us are still helping people the Morrowind branch of the forums...

This thread makes me wish I was more active here. A ways back I used to be rather active and now I mostly lurk, hardly posting.

And on that note, hello 4th star :celebration:

Oh yes I am still here! I joined when I was in 6 grade. I joined because of Morrowind, not Oblivion.

Reporting for fishy sticks and a owl please!

I've turned into one of http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/9975-ultima-underworld-ii-labyrinth-of-worlds-dos-screenshot-swimming.gif in recent years. I was pretty active before Oblivion came out, but found the boards swamped with [censored] so I disappeared for a while - not sure if anyone recognises me now

Community discussion used to be really vibrant too - there used to be loads of interesting historical, philosophical, current affairs type threads that were interesting. I also recall lots of friendly arguing with Hawk and Evilfish about which is the best ever beer of all time ever in the universe (still voting for Old Peculiar served from wooden cask).

By the way, is MASTERCHEIF12345 still here?? He was hilarious!

Yeah man, your just totally being oppressed by these fascist forum moderators, all these new cats don't know what its like, keep on rebellin' brother!

This fits much better in community discussion, it has no relevance to TES or any game in particular, you asked where the oldies were, that has nothing to do with discussing the series despite how many of the 'oldies' may play it.

My apologies, I forgot that I would have to specify the point, that where are all the older members and why is there a lack of activity from them within other Skyrim discussions. I thought that was a given seen as though it was started in that section.
Some people actually elaborated on the discussion and stated reasons for being inactive on the subject of 'Skyrim' which was my only interest.
But pulling all nighters or not being able to get time off work seems to be very much on topic.
Once again I apologise and will make sure that if I start a thread in the Skyrim general discussion again, to make sure it sticks along the lines of 'what race will you be'...

Maybe thats a little harsh on my part, and maybe Chef Kronus is right and that they are all here, and the more interesting discussions lie here...

 If it's not about Skyrim then it doesn't belong in the Skyrim section of the forums. It's as simple as that.

I'll take that, should of made more of a point to ask why no one was posting in Skyrim discussions too.
Wouldn't of got moved 5 years ago though, but then the question would not of been raised, times have changed, some for the better, some not...

Oh hi there.

My first account was actually made way back in 2003 when I couldn't figure out the Dwemer puzzle box quest in Morrowind.... :P

I forgot the password, needless to say.

Meh, age is irrelevant to me anyways.

I've been here for however it says underneath my avatar (I don't even remember half of the time), will stay around for a while too, I guess. But most likely not forever, this place doesn't quite have the feeling that it used to. :(

Been flicking through the forums quickly and I'm somewhat suprised. Where have all the forum members gone dating back to Oblivion and before. Its great to see the Elder Scrolls is attracting new gamers, or maybe just new members to the forum.
But where are all the '06, '05 and '04 members hiding out. You still here guys or are you biding your time till the serious talk starts upon release?

On a rare occasion I have nostalgia, to myself, of course, wondering how some posters are doing from years ago, but for the most part I don't understand why it's such a big deal. Most of them have gone to other places, either because this forum wore out it's welcome/novelty or in order not to be parented so much in discussion on these forums. No doubt I'm sure most of them are fans of the series and will probably at least give Skyrim a look or two over, but there were quite a number I remember disappointed with Oblivion and may not give Skyrim the time of day.

Oldies? Yeah that's right... Back in my days we scrolled the forums uphill, both ways... In the snow! And it was ubb on dial-up! And all I had to eat was a cold egg samwich...

Damn kids these days with their rock 'n' roll, crack cocaine, and fancy dsl...

I had been gone for a few years, but when Skyrim came close, I returned. :) Been a member since I got Morrowind, back in 2002, as you can see.

Am I old enough for ya? ;)

Holy crap! These threads really bring 'em out of the woodwork don't they? Good to see you guys still around! :foodndrink:

They finally changed it from "the teapot's boiling", then? About time, too...

No, but I do still know what happens when people say The Elder Scrolls Morrowind is the greatest game in the history of the universe., or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the greatest game in the history of the universe.. We're still free to say that Skyrim svcks or Daggerfall svcks though.
