Why would people even consider playing this game on console?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 2:07 pm

ive got skyrim for both pc and xbox. My comp can run it at max but the pc has motion sickness in it. The xbox dont. The xbox also has a kickass screen and a recliner chair (not built for a keyboard). I mostly play Skyrim from the xbox (first run was on PC with steam)

if you would stop being judgemental and jumping to conclusions, you would see that.

Sais the guy who can't even UNDERSTAND why people play on consoles... right.

I used to think that until I got an XBox 360, along with an HDTV that I can relax with in the main room.

It's not about can I afford a decent desktop. I choose not to buy one. I'm a X box fan and have been since day one. I've played my fair share of games on both the computer and console. I choose the console. As far as modding, who cares. Why use cheats and modding. You take away from the game by using mods. You change the rules of the game to your benefit and quite frankly it's sad. Just look at all the crap going on with Modern Warfare and Black Ops. Mods, Mods and more Mods. The online play of those games is unfair because people like you choose to change the game to your favor so you can be number 1 in deaths, or number 1 in whatever. Give me a break. You can take your Mod and go fly a kite. Mod's are for people who just have to be number 1 in the gaming community. Sad, very sad indeed.

These are really unfair comparisons though. Most mods I see out there are for things like: beefing up the night sky to make it more beautiful, changing the coloration of different armors, changing countless other various textures or adding/removing/changing other aspects that just make the game better, smoother. This is a single player game. I'm sure there are mods that actually give you an advantage, but over whom? In a singleplayer game, who cares? Let people play the way they want. The comparisons to balancing issues in multiplayer games like Black Ops is absurd. So absurd in fact that I'm pretty sure I just got trolled, but...could not resist pointing this out.

I hate playing anything other than city-building and strategy games on the PC. It really hurts my eyes and gives me migraines.

If people can't afford a gaming PC they will turn to cheaper options.

Hm you know it run's perfectly fine on my low level laptop and i can use mods im happy with it if someone want's to play on console it's their choice.

Also im not sure if it's cheaper XBOX360 250GB is hm 330$ plus TV it will be another 300-400$ or more and i did buy my laptop for 800$ and that was almost a year ago now it's cheaper and run's Skyrim fine.

I think the real reason is people are more lazy they get from work they don't want to strain too much just insert disc and play.

2 reasons:

1: I like playing on my xbox

2: I don't have a PC that can run it at the moment.

Don't have to deal with Steamworks (or Steam) and I have the option to trade in the game in the future....

I believe this thread is pure flamebait and that the issue been discussed thousands of times on these forums, but oh well, since it hasn't been locked yet...

Some people just prefer the feel of the console. If you have an XBOX360 or PS3 and enjoy playing it, why should you spend 10 000 SEK (would be about 1500 USD) or more on a computer to achieve graphics and performance which equals the consoles? I am, and have always been, a PC player myself, simply because I have never bought a console. One of my friends, however, owns both Oblivion and Skyrim on the 360 and I can vouch for how fun it is to play using a gamepad. Yes, PC can get mods. Yes, PC can fix bugs easier etc. Posting a thread on these forums stating that you don't understand how people can play on consoles, however, is not a very wise move.

Happy New Year btw!

Haha, I know right? I don't understand the constant obsession with reminding everybody that the PC version is better. These PC gamers have some kind of complex or something (jk) :P

INSULTING THREAD.............cheers for your insult. pretty much saying with your PC snobery that YOUR better off!!!

DONT ASSUME OR BELIVE THE GUSH ON THESE FORUMS THAT EVERYONE THAT HAS A CONSOLE VERSION HAS PROBLEMS OR ISSUES....................COZ THEY DONT.............ME INCLUDED.

im not interested in mods as i dnt see the point in changing a game after its released.WHY NOT invent your own game yourself rather than change someone elses??????

JUST FOR THE RECORD I HAVE HAD OBLIVION,SKYRIM AND FALLOUT3 AND NV FOR MY PS3 I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PLAYTHROUGHS OF THE LATTER(still in middle of skyrim 130hrs+) AND I HAVE YET TO HAVE ANY GAMEBREAKING ISSUES,UNPLAYABLE BUGS,SEVERE LAG OR ANY OF THE OTHER "SO-CALLED" PROBLEMS

I HAVE NEVER WISHED A MOD FOR ANY OF THESE GAMES AS LIKED THEM THEY WAY THEY WERE.

so dont pity me being a console user take ur pc snobery somwhere else.............im MORE than HAPPY with my console and skyrim..................away you go and MOD someone elses work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP seenms to be under the impression that everyone likes mods. This is not true at all.

A LOT of people enjoy the vanilla, cannon game, including myself. I don't pay for other peoples ideas, I pay for Todd Howards, and I enjoy the game the way he intended it to be played.

I am quite aware of what mods can do. Not interested whatsoever.

You're really narrowminded then.. anyway as other people stated:
-Laying on your bed/bench with a controller in your hand is just really relaxed to play a game
-My computer can't run Skyrim, nor would I spent so much money to have one who does
-You're overrating a Modded-Skyrim and underrating a Unmodded-Skyrim.. I've Played Oblivion for years on the PC with quiet some mods and this year bought it for Xbox and enjoyed it just as much..

So try again.

Plus a tv? Even people below the poverty line already own a tv, even an hd tv. You can buy an hd tv at Wal-mart for $100

I prefer to buy all my games for PS3, unless they're a PC exclusive or cheap on Steam.

I won't be buying another Bethesda game for PS3 though.

There's actually a program out there that lets you use your PS3 controller as a PC gamepad.
