Why would people even consider playing this game on console?

It's not about can I afford a decent desktop. I choose not to buy one. I'm a X box fan and have been since day one. I've played my fair share of games on both the computer and console. I choose the console. As far as modding, who cares. Why use cheats and modding. You take away from the game by using mods. You change the rules of the game to your benefit and quite frankly it's sad. Just look at all the crap going on with Modern Warfare and Black Ops. Mods, Mods and more Mods. The online play of those games is unfair because people like you choose to change the game to your favor so you can be number 1 in deaths, or number 1 in whatever. Give me a break. You can take your Mod and go fly a kite. Mod's are for people who just have to be number 1 in the gaming community. Sad, very sad indeed.
While this topic is pretty ridiculous anyway, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest what platform you play on, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to mods.

another thing, there are so many things that can go wrong with computers, not responding messages, black screens, viruses, inexplicable crashes etc. If I don't have a high end computer its just not worth the trouble for me

That's not butt-hurt love, that's common-sense

I don't care what you think about consoles or its players, but to make that broad, unsubstantial claim is just amazing.

Problem with you and many others who got so upset over one guy`s comment on a game`s forum is that I explained in detail why I thought what I did while nobody gave me even the slightest reason why I was wrong. I was well willing to change my mind if people had sensibly discussed why i was wrong.

All they did was insult and svck up to eachother.

In the end a Moderater had to close the thread because of it.

p.s. I even have a console, but most of my best games are on PC.

Well, Skyrim was designed for the XBox first, then ported to PCs and PS3 poorly. There's nothing wrong with what was said.
XBox gamers taking it as it's their fault, is their own problem. Bethesda aimed for the bigger piece of the pie, which happens to be consoles.
Be happy. It's the strengths of PC's that are under-utilized by the game.

Except it's completely possible for either consoles or PCs to be able to use first-person camera at all times if one wanted to. The camera in the werewolf and horse-riding scenes are completely matters of game design or the restrictions of the engines that both machines use.

Throw blame all you want, but this is hardly a matter of hardware.

I'm a PS3 user, and some of the severe flaws I find in Skyrim makes me consider PC gaming. Too bad I have no money, compooters confuse me, and I have no idea how to play games with a mouse and keyboard.

My game purrs like a kitten on Xbox, and this is me.

And that was my point. It's the game/game engine.

Steamworks is Draconian and stupid in design. Not to mention that Consoles don't force you to update patches unlike the PC version and it's much cheaper to use consoles and less of a pain if you aren't a computer genius.

PCs are expensive, period.

This. Plus, I highly doubt my Macbook Pro could run it if it struggles with Oblivion on max settings.

Once again you claim that I'm somehow upset. I can't be sad over something that has nothing to do with me. Like it or not, most gripes on this game have little to do with whatever restrictions consoles have. They're either design choices or just simple mechanics of the engine both machines use. And people (not all, but some) did give well-thought out and explained responses to your so called game-breaking dilemma. If you can't accept that, that's not anyone else's problem.

Nothing against your decision of course, but Skyrim actually for the most part, runs better than Oblivion did

...because i can't afford a ninja gaming PC, and i'm not interested in getting one, since i have a PS3 that works perfectly fine, and i'd rather just have fun playing the game than spending all of my time tweaking the graphics settings or installing mods. :)

Plus a tv? Even people below the poverty line already own a tv, even an hd tv. You can buy an hd tv at Wal-mart for $100

Some peeps have the trouble of having a big pool of water called the Atlantic ocean between them and the nearest Wal-mart. Iam one of them.

Steam is perfectly fine, it's really useful. Also consoles do force updates. If you decline you get signed off the online service.

that's a bit harsh to imply removing something that's been so integral to the community for the majority of the series' success. though i agree with the whole keeping with the "original design", i wouldn't want to remove the option to modify content simply because it could potentially alter the author's original design. that decision should be left to the community, at least in my opinion.

Neither is it on Steam. You install the game, activate it once and go into offline mode. You never need to be online, and never get forced updates.

I'm a modder, I make mods. My comment was against his whole "MODS ARE FOR SAD CHEATERS" argument.

Skyrim is one of those games where I get to relax and play at the same time. I enjoy chilling in my bed across the room and laying down while killing people. You can't do that on a PC.

I dont have a gaming PC, I have an Acer Laptop, Runs perfect for me lol

If people can't afford an up-to-date PC, they will turn to cheaper options. No need to be smug about, some people just don't have all that great computers. And some people simply prefer sitting on a couch, looking at the big screen.

1. Consoles are generally single-specced - guaranteed it'll run.
2. This game was made for console and ported to PC. Controls should be less clunky.
