That in the current state of the game, if you do too much content on one character, the game becomes unplayable due to permanent CTDs. (PC)

that Bethesda rushed to meet there stupid 11.11.11 deadline that was more important than the actual game...

Soooo soooo true. Some marketing moron's idiot idea made them totally rush it. Either that or the devs really didnt give a [censored].

Ahh so much. For my first TES game I could have really done some more research

1. Ctrl 1-9 (PC)
2. Everything about the concepts (ie, this really is a sandbox game not just one that says it is!)
3. Dont commit to perks till you know what the heck is going on
4. Dont call your character Anus cause whilst its funny for the first 20 levels, it does get tedious
5. You can run! (just found this out on this thread...)
6. Gaints and wolves are slightly different challenges
7. R
8. Gold will come, dont stress chasing it early on
I agree with 8. I love being so low on gold that I have to go out, explore, and bargain around with various shopkeepers. Much more immersive although it is pretty nice having 50k laying around :)

That I shouldn't have even thought about finishing the mages guild questline.

Have you tried the companions quest line yet?? That one is a laugh. It went a like this for me:

Spoiler

Quest 1. These guys at the tavern are jerks. Go punch them out.
Quest 2. Wow!! Youre really awesome. You should go on this super important mission to reclaim the sacred axe of the legendary founder of our little club.
Quest 3. You're clearly the best. Go kill some witches...because youre the only one I trust.. Even though I met you 2 days ago.
Quest 4. Youre our new leader. Go to this ruin while we find excuses to stand around doing nothing.
Quest 5. Go kill a bear.

I never killed the bear.

E.g. Don't kill the chickens. Just. Don't.

HA! I was faced with the choice of killing the town of Riverwood or restarting from a last save that was a looooooonnng time ago. All because of kicking a chicken.
