There are many things I dislike, but few truly irrational hatreds. That said, I do have some:
I hate the number that comes between 4 and 6. I hate saying it, writing it, typing it, and even
hearing it. I don't even like words that
rhyme with it. And I have absolutely no idea why. If
that's not irrational, I don't know what is.
I hate it when people mix up their homophones. Just because 'your' sounds like 'you're' doesn't mean that 'your' means 'you are'. Then there's the triple threats: There, Their, & They're as well as To, Too, & Two. Their meanings are
not interchangeable. Damn the English language for having too many homophones/homographs.
I hate large crowds. It makes my skin crawl to be around large numbers of people. High School was pure hell because of this,
especially between classes.
I hate Americans that don't know English as well... Which is like, the entire population.
I'm with you on that one. And I
am an American. Fortunately, I'm related to an English teacher.
