Do you have any irrational hatreds?

Well, I hate people who overcompensate for their many insecurities with extreme arrogance.
Well done, you got me.

A flash the brakes a bit, that usually shakes them off.

Though of course one of my sister's friends got beaten up after doing that.

Yes, but nobody in this thread stated otherwise.

I've seen a lot of Americans refer to something as being "British" only for Brits to leap on their backs and say "Aha! There is no "British" accent!"

But the American as often as not was simply referring to an accent that was British, they were not saying all British people have that accent.
Pretty much.

I can hear some differences but since we don't live particularly close we just say British.

Or watching Chopped, and that Latin-cuisine-expert judge is talking and comes to an ingredient from Mexico, and just slathers the word in accent before resuming normal English speech. It's so jarring and unnecessary, even when the person actually knows how to say it, let alone some plasticky newscaster awkwardly trying it.

lol - I thought I was the only person that thought that was pretentious.

I hate people who go to America and don't know English... I wouldn't go to a different country without getting to know their language (to an extent)...
It's a bit harder in Europe when every place has its own language. I visited Hungary last christmas and do not speak Hungarian, assuming they have English signs and service. They didn't, and Hungarians apparently are obsessed with inventing all words themselves without loaning them from others. Whereas in Germany, Finland and, say, France you can just guess most words you couldn't do that in Hungary. Suffice to say, it was a huge pain to get English service and directions outside international corporations (like Starbucks) and better-off restaurants.

And we hate superfluous 'U's :stare:

The 'U's add character and culture I say.

I like to think that all of my contempt is rational with a solid basis behind it with things ranging from '[wannabe] gangsters', rap*, the self, slow walkers, bitter people who lash out at others because of their personal problems or people under the impression that grades=intelligence. The first one and the latter two I wouldn't mind taking my boot to their ribs.

*My feelings regarding the vast majority of rap and of particular note gangsta rap could be best described as a gamma ray burst.

Raisins are awesome. Seriously. Why do so many people hate them?

I hate "Rest In Peace".

They won't rest in peace, they're dead.
I don't like it either. The way I see it, the only thing you can do at that point is comfort his friends and family. No point in wasting effort to comfort a corpse. The guy himself is dead.

But that's kind of a rational, when you think about it.

I hate faux hawks.

I hate woodland camo.

I hate green MTG cards.

I hate Tau (a.k.a Weeabo Space Communists).

I hate cellphones.

I hate long-blonde hair, but love short-blonde hair.

I hate yellow. Probably because the yellow crayon always mixes with other colors.

I'm not sure it's irrational but the horrid unoriginality and lack of meaning people name their children with, at least in America, is horrible. Names like Tyler, Taylor, Brandon, Cameron, Tucker etc... names that are just locations, surnames and professions given with no regard to their meaning. There must be at least 20 million Tylers in the US. Even my own nieces just have place-names and patronyms for given names; Sydney, Ashley and Madison. Madison means "Son of Maud"... SON and it's a common name given to girls. It just baffles me.

Oh God. In Elementary school I knew 5 Courtneys, 4 Brandons, 4 Megans and 7 Katlyns. In Middle School I knew all of those, and 6 Jareds. Now, I know about 5 Jessicas, 6 Brittanys, and 4 Stephanies.

Anything 'Southern'

'Good ol country boy', pick up trucks that sound obnoxiously loud, rebel flags, redneck culture, people who live up to the portrayal of 'White Trash'. It's so irking to me that people act like that, it's so stupid to me. Having been born in Memphis, and living in Missisippi currently. I see it a lot, and it's one of the few things in life that revolt me. That stupid barbaric yawp about 'southern pride' and 'country pride'.

^I know how you feel. I don't hate the South, or ACTUAL Southern culture, as I was raised on bluegrass and soul food, but these loudmouth, spit chewing, beer stained idiots drive me mad. They're actually the reason I hate woodland camo and faux hawks.

 That's pretty good.

You can thank 1d4chan for that. I don't frequent it, but damned if they don't know how to mock their enemies.

Oh no, I can appreciate 'Southern Living'. It's the common attitude of the typical 'Southern Pride' crowd that makes me grump. I can't stand the people here who think they can chew and dip, wear some stupid looking modern cowboy hat, boots, and a pick up, and they think they're some sort of cowboy. It borders 'disgust' because it's so.....uneducated. The Redneck culture is what really sets me off. It's why if my Naval career takes off, I'm saying goodbye to the South, I want little to do with its simpleton attitude.

(To other users, not ALL the Southern US is like that, but it's prevalent enough in some regions to make you want to get very pissy)
