do you miss behemoths

But when the vault was constructed, and the FEV delivered the Bomb hadn't fallen. Society was still continuing on

John Q DeliveryWorker wants to earn some extra money to buy his special someone an engagement ring... Maxwell Q Foriener at the local diner offers him a months wages and all he has to do is make a certain box go missing on the dock. All of a sudden, China's got FEV and is trying to breed its own group of SuperSoldiers.

So what? The Vault wont have its population infected until the bombs do drop. VT was obviously in on all of it, all they have to do is tell their people constructing the vaults that its anything other than what it is.

When its concurrently being tested by the US military directly at Mariposa?

(Remember, its this testing that disgusted Maxson so much that he mutanied and formed the BOS)

Yeah, why not? Its already went through its animal testing phase. Why not send it to the vault and test it? The likelihood of finding FEV in space is small but if your going to test [censored] out why not send some of this green stuff over to vault 87?

Time and the fact that Vault Tec and the Enclave were ignorance of the FEV experiment.

Time because when West Tec and the US Army found out how FEV can make Super Soldier, they move it to Mariposa Base, which was quite close to the West Tec Research Area. When they move the FEV, bomb fell, Maxon of the US Army (after his superior commit suicide) found out of the experiment and has every scientists involve with the FEV research kill.

Vault Tec and the Enclave were ignorant of FEV's existence was proven when the Enclave stumble upon the ruin of Mariposa Base. They got a sample and enhance it to a deadly weapon. They can't suddenly know the FEV before the War and ship it across the States for an "experiment".

A lot can happen in 200 years, like losing the info on what the FEV is. Who's to say that the FEV wasn't delivered to the east coast by plane? It would arrive hours after it arrived in Mariposa, who's to say that the FEV wasn't being tested on the east coast simultaneously by a different group? Just because its not stated in one or two doesn't make it so. Plus Chris signed off on all Beth canon so it doesn't even matter. plus its never stated that VT was in the dark about the FEV.Also most of that canon was written for one, when its hinted that all of D.C. is ruined. I find it hard that the FEV was only being worked on in California and not somewhere on the east coast. I mean its the Gov. their not even going to tell their government counterparts about things their working on. Who really knows who all knew about the FEV with how departmentalized the gov. is?

I just miss super mutants in general. There were way to few of them in New Vegas, and were the only enemies that gave me somewhat of a challenge.

Behemoths were the only enemies i thought worthy of the fat man. I never used them on overlords in Fallout 3 because there would be no point when 5 more would take its place.

I miss them. I wish new vegas had something tough and monstrous to fight, even if they easily get stuck and you can easily shoot them to death. <_<

Edit: I dont want behemoths, but something similar to take their place.

Yeah that was the only probem with behemoths, being able to hide under a shack and them being unabe to hurt you.

Frankly, I just make my own guesses when I'm playing the game, and I just thought that Vault-Tec had made the entire Vault concept, and decided they'd want to make experiments along with that to try to rebuild America's salvation and warfare.

I knew that the Enclave was part of the government, based on the fact of Raven Rock, but I didn't know that they were controlling Vault-Tech, I thought they were just given orders to (censor) things up.

Enclave was'nt 'Controling' Vault-Tec, They were paying them to build a mass experiment, Thats all they paid VT to do.. I think..

164 years after the war to Fallout 2. If anything, the Enclave would have sent off their FEV experiment into the Air long ago. As for the shipment to Mariposa Base, the transfer of the virus to that base from West Tec happens immediately, which the bomb fall right after the shipment. I doubt there wasn't time for someone sneaky to get the info on FEV, ship it to the East Coast, then put in in the vault for the experiment.

If ya referring to Chris Taylor, I would say near naw in term of canon in the Fallout Universe. I want to hear this on Tim Cain and Chris Avellone on this as well. On the otherhand, this isn't the first time Bethesda contradict its own canon for something "fun" or "ease".

Only thing missing: the official Bethesda term that basically means "Fallout-ese for Dragon Break," which by my understanding is basically TES-speak for "We're retconning the hell out of the canon...again." :D

Anway- no, I don't miss Behemoths in the least.

I miss the mutants all together. The Behemoths were just loads of fun and the super mutants, well, there aren't many in NV which is disappointing. They really brought this feel to FO3.

FEV was delivered to Mariposa on Jan 7 and in Feb FEV info was leaked worldwide, the Prewar world did know about the FEV. There's plenty of tie to ship some to the east but like I already said. Who's to say the FEV wasn't being worked on in the last under secrecy?

No they were commissioned to test the complications one might run into during the colonization of other planets.

And where is this "leaked" idea that the whole Prewar even know about the FEV? It was already order to sent the FEV to Mariposa Base for further testing. If anything, the Project was cancel by Roger Maxson when he found out that they were experimenting FEV on people and the US Army's Grunt, took control of the Base and made himself his own organization.

There isn't really anything to support the idea that someone "transfer" the FEV to the Vault.

Whenever I feel a little alone without 'em around, I just pop FO3 back in for some tense reminiscence. :foodndrink:

It's not that they were really all that tough, it was just that knowing that something HUGE was coming to kill you that made the experience welcomed to me.

They were fun to fight because they were huge but they didn't fit in the game (hehe pun). They were never explained... That sort of thing just bothers me.

No, man -- you were using in-game logic (Fallout realism) which is fun. I think we're more or less on the same wavelength. Others were grumbling that the Behemoths were unrealistic because there wasn't enough to eat, which is imposing (IMO opinion, very undesirable) real-world realism on a freakin' video game about survivable nuclear war, radiation making you immortal, CRT-driven devices that outperform nanotechnology, radiation making giant insects and animals, etc, etc. If this game was realistic it would be a 40 hour starvation sim.

Those comments were just thinly veiled Bethbashing, anyway. People need to lighten up and have fun. People not lightening up and having fun makes me grumpy. LOL.

No thinly, heavily, or moderately veiled Bethbashing from me, I have said numerous times here I loved FO3. I am the Behemoth food source main complainer. Just because one thing in a game irritated me doesn't mean I have it in for the people that made it, just means I didn't like that part of the game.

I hated that NPCs in DA:O asked you to get out your credit card and buy some DLC, does that mean I hate BioWare.

Please don't attempt to twist my words completely out of context because I find it strange that a upwards of 20+ foot tall creature (which there are multiples of) in a fairly small area don't seriously mess with the food supply.

Ya mean this?
2077 February: FEV Research is leaked to the world through an unknown source. Protests in many major cities and governments around the world, as well as accusations that the US was responsible for the New Plague. FEV is seen as the threat it is, and serves only to fuel tensions.

It bought tension to the whole place which lead to the say theory they US is behind the New Plague, but it does not really go as far as stating what it can do and if anyone got the sample of it at all. Its just "research" that bought moral panic to the US

It doesn't stop the fact it was already order that all the FEV was order to sent to Mariposa Base beforehand in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/FEV_experiment_disk#Log_Date_January_7.2C_2077 and if by theory that Vault Tec do have a sample of the FEV, then the Enclave would have known about it/have the sample and have put its experiment to use earlier than it was in Fallout 2.
