Dawnguard and Future DLC Discussion - Thread #21

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 11:42 am

Thanks! Vegeta is the [censored] And true doesnt really fit dawnguard, but returning to help restore mainland Morrowind and fight off the Argonians would be epic!
If the fury of Oblivion couldn't take down the Argonians then no one can. they couldn't open the Oblivion gates in Black Marsh or Morrowind as both were inhabited by Argonians at the time.

Wait!

I am a FOOL.

What other forges are of special interest in Skyrim other than the Skyforge?

Why.................THE LUNAR FORGE.

But it's not used in any quest in the game. It's........an anomaly. Strange, isn't it?

Etch it in stone:
The Lunar Forge will be important in the DLC.

Yes it was Knights of the nine and Shivering isles i bought it at my local game store when it first came out for 30 or 40 bucks
That's def not bad. as we appear to be getting loads of dlc while waiting for the next console. Skyrim is gonna be alive for a very long time. i'm gonna have to buy a new hard-drive, go to aforementioned buddies house and transfer my content from my old hard-drive :P

I have an idea about what it might contain--but all I hope for is an update before the DLC pack that contains craft-able arrows/bolts for the weaponry. People might not like the idea and think it's pointless--but one does not simply shoot hopes and dreams at opponents. 'specially if they focus on Archery/Marksmanship 24/7 on their character!

You can make those special weapons with it.

I have to shake my head in astonishment at the people here who think the dragons are boring and unoriginal. That's like saying you would prefer if Skyrim never had dragons, which is an opinion that should be shot down. I mean for people saying there should be no dragon based DLC, are you honestly turning away from oh say having Dragon mounts in the future? I mean come on. Dragons are part of the reason why the game is so fun. I haven't seen any sound reasoning yet why Deagon based DLC is a bad idea.

The real source of that complaint is the fact that the dragons are rather weak. They should be absolute TERRORS for anyone under level 40, and even then they should be a profoundly daunting challenge.
For me, at level 63 with heavily enchanted armor and weapons, even teh strongest dragons are simply no challenge at all. It shouldn't be that way.

My biggest issue was that there are way to many dragons in the area after (spoiler)...............................................................................................................................................you defeat aldhuin. There should be a couple but not as many as there are. I understand that no matter what though there will be dragons but not every 10 mins oh there is another one.

Hopefully the dlc will make Dragons stronger and add new archetypes. like Lightning Dragon, Poison Dragon, and now that underwater combat has been discovered in the files of the latest patch, Underwater Dragons.

Does upping the difficulty not make the dragons any more of a challenge for people at all?

Also it really depends on your build whether Dragons are strong or not. My Nightblade is somewhere between level 40 and 50 and when i play as him it's like a fight simulator. where everyone is evenly matched. and i have 4 followers with me. a world where the Mages are actually as tough as everyone claims they are.

Oblivion gates did open in Morrowind, and the much weaker Argonions could only swoop in and invade once the land had been ravaged by natural disaster. If the Dunmer could get back on their feet from the Natural Disasters they could drive out the Argonians with ease.

But one thing you are right about is no one can mess with Black Marsh. Its too dangerous for any other race, and it suits the Argonians perfectly. But the Dunmer are much to powerful for the Argonians in MORROWIND, which would be the setting as they drive them out :)

Terrors indeed. I implement mods to make them damn near impossible to kill before level 20. You see a Dragon at low levels...the ONLY survival option is to run. That is the way it should be.

Having said that I don't even trigger the Dragons for some characters. As a matter of fact, before I moved to PC. Out of 10 characters, I only triggered them twice. The whole "Dragon" thing is not the sole pushing point if Skyrim.

In vanilla they are just a nuisance. Sad but true. They are just too weak to be of any threat.

Still, we (the vanilla market) do not need more Dragons. The DLC should focus on other areas and content.

No. I have an Archer/CQC fighter that does anywhere between 15-30x normal damage on Master Difficulty--and I dont see a difference. I can still 1 shot or 1-hit kill anything and everything at level 81.

Thank you! You just pretty much summed up why I hate dragons, and think they are boring, and why we do not need a DLC based around them. They are weak, and very generic as they show up all the time, which gets annoying. And why does anyone want dragon mounts? That is stupid what fun is that if there is no combat, and the only thing you could do is fly around, not to mention wouldn't consoles not be able to handle loading everything in the world as you fly over it at fast speeds? So dragon mounts are out, and so should any other dragon DLC.

My mistake. Morrowind actually got hit pretty hard in the Oblivion Crisis.

Being level 81 has nothing to do with it. If your skill level is 100 and you have the right damage perks, a level 46 character does the same damage as a level 65 character, as a level 81 character.

Besides the enemies stop at 50.

Not at all. Even at Master difficulty--my Archer can still do 15-30x normal damage (daggers included) at Lv.81
Why did you reply to that twice?
