DLC Exclusive. Discussion Continues.

This. I'm a PS3-user.

I also have Demon's Souls. Trade-offs in life are inevitable.

i think this was a pretty dumb move
well how did Microsoft expect people to cancel there pre orders and get the 360 version. if they had announced this a month ago then it would at least made some sense

Wow, M$ knows their console can't keep up. So they buy exclusive dlcs for non exclusive games. Im glad Valve, Bioware, & Bungie left the Xbox. Really disappointing Obsidian.. I almost don't want to buy New Vegas now. This would be a nice lesson to PC users. Now you get to see what we PS3 users have felt...

I would argue that most vehemently if this weren't a thread on DLC and terrible business. :P

I don't get the people who don't get the anger, frankly.

Well, I can't say I don't get it - there are good elaborations on why this is an upsetting situation to some people. But what goes beyond me is the scale/amount of the anger in relation to what people are being angry about. Human nature, I guess, but still.

This may be a setback for Ps3 users, and I myself am a little ticked at how ONCE AGAIN, we are being held with no DLC as it is exclusive to only Xbox owners.
Will we get our own exclusive to counter-balance this out? Will it soon be that, wait for 5 months to get the dlc again?
Really am tired of this, of how they could've avoided all this hate if they just did the simple thing.

Make it for all systems.

Then, we could all just be overreacting. Maybe.

I've had enough of this [censored] with Oblivion and Fallout 3. Now, it's back for New Vegas. What next, TES V? Even worse, PC players don't even get the DLC? I don't think we are overreacting. I've been calm and hoping Bethesda would change this routine of theirs in the past, but it seems that it's only getting worse. Here's an underreaction from me. I hope Microsoft burns as the money greedy [censored]s they are. I'm also sad to say it, but Bethesda has sold out as far as I'm concerned. Or is the blame Obsidian's, as well? Why the hell not make it for all systems? What next?

The thing about PC users and this doesn't just go for quest based mods this goes for everything, all pc mods are free. how many new companions have console users gotten? none how many companions can PC users get? over 300. How many new guns can console users get? maybe 4-5 guns that are the exact same copies of other guns but with a fancy name and higher stats per DLC. How many new guns can PC users get? over 19,000.

Those are just a couple of equivalencies, and that data came from fallout Nexus.

No. Your not getting it. I'm drawing equivalences that are there. Each console has its advantages. Bethesda has a deal with MS not Sony. If your making this big of a deal out of it then buy a 360.

Hey guy, not all of us want to shell out another 300$ and most of us don't have it. I picked my system and I paid the same amount as you guys, I expect to be treated equal.

Because PC users have never, ever had delayed releases for entire games and DLC? We're really not getting a lesson at all. But that doesn't even matter. What does matter is whether or not the future DLC announcements will justify this one.

Would've been better if they announced this AFTER the release of the game, maybe a month after?
They just killed some sales they were going to make on a lot of PS3 users.

As pointed out, that's just something that comes with the territory for PC. You pay thousands of dollars for the PC, as opposed to the Xbox or PS3; price accessibility for gaming is much better for consoles. In exchange, PC gets more high-end game modification tools. These are hardwired into the system, they aren't open to Bethseda's jurisdiction.

Vanilla is the term because 'Vanilla' is plain. So we're saying the 'Plain' game, no add ons. Don't make posts like theses as they are simply spam.

That's not an equivalence We get some user modded guns. We miss out on great, professionally designed and written content like Point Lookout that we would gladly pay for, if only for the additions to the world fiction and the chance to explore it more.

I agree. It's like a high school food drive competition. Wait for the last day, and bring in 10,000 blocks of instant ramen before anyone has time to react. Um, probably a weird comparison.

As an occasional ingnoramous, could someone please explain to me why the DLC is a Microsoft exclusive, but won't initially be appearing on the PC? Why is it a LIVE exclusive, specifically?

Is it on PC or is actually exclusive to 360?

Gstaff said it will be entirely exclusive to Xbox LIVE, so that means 360 only.

I bet this is all some scheme to get multiconsole owners to snap and buy the 360 version instead of the ps3/pc version. The DLC will probably be something stupid like horse armor, and will only be exclusive to 360 for maybe 2 or 3 months.
Announcing this right before the release of the game means they can wait a few weeks or so after the game is out before actually telling us what the DLC is. Then the DLC will be something no one cares about anyway and microsoft makes $ off all those extra 360 purchases.

I think a bunch of gamers psyched on the eve of launch suddenly had the rug yanked out from under them, maybe all that positive jazz turned sour real quick... lol

I was always going to purchase the PC version, and although I own a 360, knowing "the first DLC "could be exclusive to that platform wouldn't have changed my mind about buying the PC version. But still, it's information like that that consumers need to make informed decisions when making a purchase. Last minute announcements don't exactly inspire confidence in them, me thinks. Heh.
