DLC Exclusive

Post » Sat Dec 04, 2010 4:17 am

Clarification on "exclusive" to xbox DLC, whether that's timed or solely for xbox; and if not what the time gap is likely to be rather than just speculation from users is the main issue here.
I really don't see why Gstaff can't or are not allowed to release this information, it'd probably ease tensions.

Given the high traffic volume, I'm not the only one who's incensed. I suggest people put their money where their mouth is and tell Bethesda you're not buying the game tonight without more information.

Finally a normal person who cares about the money they spend and isnt like "Guys the games coming out tommorow" and all that other junk.

Personally I think it's disgusting that Fallout isn't coming out for my Wii. I mean come on, all you Xbox and PS3 and PC people get all the exclusive stuff. I'm going to court if you don't release DLC for the Wii soon. It's my RIGHT as a GAMER.

I played the DLC for FO3 sometime after it was out, I didn't really care to much about them, and still don't the FO3 experience lasted far longer than the DLC did, in short...

If it takes 1+ year for the DLC to come to PC, I'll still buy it and I wont be upset, because I'll still be playing the stock game, and I'll still have stuff to do in the game.

On an off-note I hate how the corporations look for exclusives to sell their console when all it does is make customers across the board angry.

What are they gonna do? Refund the money back to Microsoft? If this DLC was exclusive to whatever platform your getting it on, it'd be a different story.

No, it would be the same story. I don't view someone as a lesser gamer because they play on the Xbox, unless they're a [censored], then they are a lesser gamer, but that goes for all consoles.

Would I be on here complaining if it was on the ps3 and not the xbox? No, but I would completely support them, because they should get it too.

I will say though if you are gonna do DLC do it right. So much DLC is like Knights of the Nine and needs to be more like Shivering Ilse.

So much hating on Bethesda, whats up with that, I loved Point Lockout, Broken Steel, and the Pitt.

Why should developers do it right when we are willing to pay 10 bucks for DLC no matter how bad it is..

In all fairness it is our fault for the way DLC has turned into a cash cow. If we were not such easy Marks by paying for crap, then companies would be giving us a better product.

We can only blame ourselves for letting the game companies take advantage of us.

Yeah it just doesn't make sense to me that Bethesda would do this to the fan base, especially when the game itself is available on all 3 platforms. They have to know the kind of horrific backlash it would cause, and I would wager a small sum that this backlash against the announcement is also a surprise for them - they were likely hoping for cheers of more content from the masses.

Perhaps a mis-calculation on the annoucement, but my money is still on a combo-pre-order pack. Listen to the http://www.avaultpodcast.com/ and specifically to what Pete has to say - its quite revealing actually given the timing of this announcement. I GECKulate that No One is going to be left off the boat for Real content, this was really good intentioned by Bethesda to get the pre-order content out there to more peeps.

I'm definitely not buying it now. I said before I will rent it, but I wont buy it. I would rather give me money to a developer who will thank me for buying their game and treat me like I am an important consumer.

Agreed! Stop leaving PS3 users in the dust between ridiculous ports, and exclusive DLC. You've got to be kidding me.

Right on man, right on. This developer obviously thinks were worth as much as the dirt on their shoes. PS3 users are pretty much the, oh yeah sure throw them this junk at the same price and if they complain who cares.

Well that wouldn't make much sense, since whatever this will be looks to be XBox exclusive, forever. "We want everyone to get the pre-order goodies...but only if they're on XBox."

I see where your coming from, and I disagree about console exclusive content too. But it's the way the industry works. Microsoft pulled out the big money to grab the attention of those who possibly have multiple consoles, which will probably net them more hits for the 360, because of that DLC.

We don't know if this DLC is the pre-order goodies or not. Believing so is wishful thinking at this point as Bethesda, to my knowledge, has never released such as a DLC and they have released a ton of DLC packs that added significantly to the game experience. Until they say otherwise it should be assumed this is a typical Bethesda-style DLC.

Absolutely it makes sense, its a Great way to Microsoft an exclusive deal without punishing the masses and depriving us of Real content. If your really super-hyped about having all of the CE kits at once, then you have reason to be upset if you don't play on a 360 - I fully support that. But its a very different thing to dis the entire game and the company as robbing us of Real content, as pre-order packs cannot be counted as a real DLC. There are no quests, no new world or places to go, just some goodies to help new players get off the ground.

I can definitely live without a combined pre-order-pack, and I think most peeps would feel the same. If this exclusive is just for pre-order-pack combos, then I will call this one of Bethesda's better business decisions. Clearly Microsoft wanted some exclusivity, and they got it - without hurting the rest of us. Put this in the light of a Business decision versus that of a player wanting everything , now. We all know that Microsoft doesn't play fair, and in this case Bethseda may have found a creative way to get around an uncomfortable exclusivity agreement without doing Real damage to the title or piss off the masses.

Again its all GECKulation until we know for sure, but I'm going to assume the best and get ready for some serious New Vegas. All this anger and hype over Possible Future Content is silly on this particular day.

They won't release any further information because they know it will piss off potential customers. Anyway just don't buy the game until the information reguarding the DLC is released. If the DLC news is good news then buy the game then. This few weeks wait to buy the game will also serve us well. Seeing as history is about to repeat itself just remember that Fallout 3 had some major issues on the PS3 when it released and it was unplayable until it got patched. Those few weeks will give them a chance to work on a patch if DLC news is looking our way that is

I don't care is it is idealistic. There are games on PS3 I want to play like Demon's Soul and God of War 3 amongst other titles and I'm sure there are Xbox titles PS3 users want. I know it's unrealistic but the current market svcks as you either have to buy more than one system or don't get all the games you care for.

Fair enough, I equally respect your views. I think your being overly pessimistic - but its all good among Fallout fans. :) We will see soon enough!

@ArgleBargle - show me the proof that anyone is getting shafted, and I might agree with you.

Time for New Vegas, enough of all this anger.
