DLC Exclusive

Post » Sat Dec 04, 2010 7:41 am

There's a difference though, this game was masquerading as an equal platform game up until right before its release. If a game comes out as exclusive way in advance, that's one thing, these sort of tactics are not acceptable though.

EDIT: By the way, this also makes me doubt the stability of the PS3 release as well. My system locks up every 3-4 hours right now when I play FO3; if they're not giving PS3 users the DLC, how can I be confident they're going to support the platform equally with patches (since it won't be necessary to do so to release said DLC).

This svcks majorly.

I see where your coming from, and I disagree about console exclusive content too. But it's the way the industry works. Microsoft pulled out the big money to grab the attention of those who possibly have multiple consoles, which will probably net them more hits for the 360, because of that DLC.

I am fully aware how the industry works, but if that is the case they should of just made the game exclusive. Because by pulling this [censored] all they are saying is they care more about the money Microsoft is giving them more then respecting the fans who are buying the games and supporting them.

To be honest I think the only reason it isn't an exclusive is Microsoft isn't paying them enough to make it worth their while.

Bethesda, well Microsoft really, is making my decision for me.... i swear im gonna be soooooooo pissed when my 360 red rings. i can tell its on the verge. dah well, guess im going 360, intended on PS3 barring an announcement similar to(exactly like) THIS. time to gear up my worn out controls and dying console and hope it can last the winter!

Until they say otherwise it should be assumed this is a typical Bethesda-style DLC.

Horse Armor it is, then!

I don't care is it is idealistic. There are games on PS3 I want to play like Demon's Soul and God of War 3 amongst other titles and I'm sure there are Xbox titles PS3 users want. I know it's unrealistic but the current market svcks as you either have to buy more than one system or don't get all the games you care for.

This is not an exclusive game, therefor we should all get the same. From quality to DLC. And thats that.

With the amount of exclusive DLCs that Sony has bought for the PS3 over the last couple of years. I'd find it difficult to sympathize with PS3 users over a couple games tilting towards the 360. Microsoft isn't going to stop if Sony doesn't. Sony isn't going to stop if Microsoft doesn't. This is the result of the actions of both corporations, not just one or the other. Side note: While this whole console wars thing is going on. And while you're buying these exclusives, Microsoft, how about throwing a few over to Windows for the PC? Thanks.

I rarely purchase DLCs, as most of the time I'm disappointed with the lack of content. :P
This said, maybe they'll eventually release it on other platforms and it'll be (almost) bug-free, thanks to all the bug testing the first users will have done on release. :D

well, some of the ps3 exclusives just would'nt work on xbox. nothing wrong with the hardware its just some of them simply would not fit on a dvd, like MGS4

I fully agree and I hope one day there is one bad ass console, but the gaming communities voice will never be big enough to make that happen, unless we all agreed to not buy another system until Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo agree to come together and make one insane system. But something like this can be changed with a big enough voice from the community, or at least prevented in the future.

Im a Ps3 owner and I still plan on getting FONV tonight. So what if Microsoft dished out a crap ton of money for a month or two of exclusive content that will prolly make it PS3 and PC eventually.
If we dont buy it for PS3 and PC then 360 sales are going to sore giving bethesda all the more incentive to do this same crap with there up coming titles. we need to show them that PC and PS3 has just as much selling promise as 360.

I understand where your coming from but I just think if there weren't exclusives to begin with we wouldn't have these problems.

I know that the PS3 is better at generally playing games but that's why you can make the game two or three discs.

I could see this being exclusive if it featured content from XBox exclusive games, like a set of Halo armor and weapons or something, other than that, no matter what it is, people are going to be very peeved.

*ed* Halos XBox only, right? I haven't bought a console since the PS2.

I completely agree with that statement.

And btw if this topic gets removed its because of one reason.. these developers and mods can't take the heat. so maybe they should get out of the kitchen.

Welcome to the Brotherhood of Stale.

*(I for one don't expect to pick up the DLC until they're all time tested, and all of them bundled on the same DVD.)

2 discs? i remember that.

good ol' MGS1

still not sure if it would work well though, youd probably get a crappy port. better off just getting both systems if you can.

I have to disagree. If all PC and PS3 owners ignored this and still bought the game as planned, all it would tell Bethesda is they can screw over the PC and PS3 gamers, get the big check from Microsoft, and still have the PC and PS3 community buy their game as they piss on them.

They only way that idea would work is if Microsoft decided to no longer pay them for exclusive rights since it didn't effect a difference in sales.

I think he means like the playable Joker in 'Batman Arkham Asylum' or 'Assassins Creed' or maybe the supposed new DLC for 'Mass Effect 2' that kind of thing..

lol like final fantasy they put 4 discs in the xbox version but 1 in ps3 version

But if fallout new vegas locks up, bugs out or does anything that the xbox version does not i am going to be real angry since the ps3 should not be worse then the xbox one.

No fanboysm but the ps3 version is quicker then the xbox one but pc is quicker then ps3 and xbox

ps. i am getting a xbox for xmas so don′t hate on me lol (halo ownes ) (what every xbox really devoted fan wants to hear right ?)

Mass Effect 2 and Mafia 2 just to name a couple.

And seriously, people, why are you canceling your preorders over what is probably a timed DLC? It's not like its going to be earth shattering to the game itself. Plus, we don't even know what the DLC will contain yet, and people are already canceling preorders!

Batman Arkham Asylum

Are you kidding that was just the ability to play as the Joker, they didn't keep away actual content.
