Homefront plays a lot better than this game. They have dedicated servers. I can do work with a one bar connection which is something I can't do in this game. You can be getting shot at, find cover, reload, get back up, and get a double kill. Best to find out why people don't like the game, get specifics. I say if in doubt rent it. Homefront is definitely worth checking out. Homefront's graphics aren't the best but multiplayer rocks.

The lag is ridiculous. It makes what could be a great game an exercise in futility. There is very little skill involved and usually comes down to who gets the lucky spray and pray head shot and has a better connection.

One of the tips during a loading screen told me to "anolyse the the killcam" or something like that. I have. I've studied them to try and become a better player. I've learned that 2 bullets to the foot are more effective than a clip to the chest.

PRO TIPS:
1. Do not actually aim at the enemy! This never works and will only frustrate you. You are just going to get pissed off when he shoots at a tree and gets a head shot on you. Get a high rate of fire gun with low accuracy and spray AROUND your enemy! BOOM! Head shot.
2. Check the score board to see who is host. He'll be the only person with 4 green bars. If he is on your team you will win, but avoid him at all cost if he's not. He is invincible and is actually playing a different game than you that is running 4 seconds in the future. I'm not sure if this is a module you can unlock later or what.

Homefront is probably the worse release ever. but its a great game IF IT WORKS, although graphics arent great.

I do have the occasional problem with Homefront but most of the time it works well. And when it does, it's about a thousand times more fun than this game, (at least in my opinion). I never have any lag in HF to be honest.

This game definitely needs dedicated servers, why EA never had them for this I don't know.

I have noticed that with this game you can do really well for a couple of maps and then all of a sudden finish bottom on the scoreboard.

I'm surprised there haven't been mass suicides over Homefront. Owned it for a week and managed around 50 minutes of game time because it kept freezing my console.

This guy wants to talk about a dissapointment, what about COD BO, bulletstorm (good but not enough gumption), homefront didnt play never will, gran turismo 5 MO i hated it waste of 60 dollars had Fn 2d graphics. Halo is supported financially by ms, who own the franchise, so they get gazillion dollars and no CEO of publisher breathing down their neck to release it as soon as possible as it's costing them fortune to make , has been delayed by 3 months already and they have share holders to satisfy etc etc

It's not my TV (Panasonic TX-P42G20) 5 mil : 1 contrast ratio etc. I've played Crysis in both 720 & 1080p. No difference and yes I use a HDMI cable /facepalm

Looks like only the way to be able to see this game in 720,1080 is to Jailbreak Ps3 and Copy- Its kinda forcing the position for some people.
Give us decent resolution and options - why should the players who dont PAY have the better version?????????

It's not that low a resolution , it's 1042 x 720, as opposed to the 1280 x 720 Of fallout Vegas .

The difference being the texture resolutions in environments are low res, and there's tonne of post processing effects going on too( mainly to hide these ugly low res textures) and that's what leads to this image quality loss.

Some of it is intentional , like the motion blur, some of it not like the ghosting caused by their chosen edge smoothing process .

I think they overstretched their engine on consoles with lighting and would been better without it, and using a "baked" lighting system instead of the dynamic lighting system they used.

U can't view it in 720p cause the engine hasn't been programmed to do so, and the reason it hasn't is cause, they couldn't get the ps3 or the 360( it's 1152x 720 on 360, not 1280x 720p) to perform well at those resolution.
Only way to get it at 720p is to radically alter engine and reduce the number of effects going on or drop frame rate further . Even then you'd have to rebuy the game .
Why would u even want to play the game minus it's effects or at lower frame rate , it would look worse not better ffs

Nah mate it's lower than 720p ( 1280 x 720) and is in reality 1024x720, then upscaled horizontally to 720p ( why the HUD is slightly stretched looking). The environment textures Etc are often lower res, so they can save memory, and they figure a lot of them are in distance and covered by various effects etc, so only when u close up do u notice

This game is my #1 console fps this generation so far but the lag during online play makes it almost impossible to enjoy. I just want to play a game where everyone does not have a mix of skittle colored connections. Get with it and fix this game on ps3 crytek it has been out long enough now! I play other shooters online (socom con, socom 4, bfbc2, cod:bo and so on and they rarley lag!

yeah the lag is puzzling, and jaw-dropping at times. it cant be because of any "intensive graphics" because KZ3 manages just fine. definitely not player count, 6v6 is minimal (dont get me wrong though, i love how its 6v6). so what gives?

it's tragic how bad the lag is, i can only hope & pray that Crytek does what they can, especially for the PS3 version in my ccase. but i am aware of the limitations of the horrible, infuriating, cost-cutting, P2P curse. so my optimism only goes so high. i'll just be trying my best to play until then, at least its addicting!

Other FPS seem to be OK on my connection - but the lag (matchmaking) is making it near impossible to have a decent multiplayer game.

I played Kilzone 2 rank 3k+
I played BFBC2 level 48

I play crysis 2 still stuck on level 7, i snipe headshot and all target are still standing, lol
this is a joke and oh rejoining session like happened couple of times in a match, haha
