Hearthfire Discussion Thread #6

More on this adoption thing!

Is it possible that we could train the little ni?os y ni?as for various builds and roles and then enroll them in a faction, like say... The Dark Brotherhood?

That'd be cool. Creating a nice little home out in the wilderness that is supposedly a home for those without parents/guardians, but secretly trains them as assassins.

I didn't think I've find another 'Scaper here either. O.o

Eh. I quit RuneScape awhile ago.. Within this year.. I'll still get on to chat, that about it... I am glad that I was able to do "Ritual of the Mahjarrat" quest and get me my quest cape before quitting..

Anyways. Let's not go off-topic.

Sounds like a mix between Batman, and the League of Shadows.

Three wishes:
1) Dogs will STAY at your house.

Play games with the kids, allow them to have pets and gain new bonuses from having a family.

So it seems we can have pets at the house, via kids. :turned:

Pets... Armored Husky Pet anyone?

Also, any idea how to fix my little 'animal follower' problem? I never cared but I might need it to be freed to get a pet.

Being able to build a house how and where I want based on being forced into buying a house in a hold after becoming thane... some of my characters DON'T want to be thane. they just want to do their thing without major quests or involvement in the world. Let them have a house, marry a girl and have some kids... even if its adoption.

Sounds great to me, always wanted to be able to build my own home, hopefully the stuff actually stays put when you decorate it.

And I can just see the all complaining now, moaning the bandits killed off their entire family and how unfair it was, since they were busy arranging their books and never noticed them till it was too late. I await with anticipation the new load of excuses for people to complain defending their own home and family is something they cannot manage to do, even with all that extra help.

It would have been nice if the PS3 players could have got Dawnstar first though, hopefully before the exclusive period is up for Hearthfire the PS3 players will have Dawnstar. How hard can it be to kill off a few unexpected bugs.

Khajiit kitties would be cool. I've never seen a young Khajiit. Wonder if they walk on all fours and play with string.

Not that I'm expecting to get this DLC, being on PS3 and all.

If this is so, it's most likely because there is a mod for PC that does the same things... However I wouldn't mind getting HF for my PC copy as well.

Three wishes:
1) Dogs will STAY at your house.
2) Children of all races, not just human. Khajiit and Argonian esp.
3) Enough bookshelves and display cases.
I want all of these myself, but I'm not really counting on any of them, except for maybe number 3, since you can customize decorations and whatnot.
The one I'm REALLY not counting on is number two. I don't think they are ever adding any additional child races to Skyrim, especially Khajiit and Argonians. I would think that if Hearthfire were to add additional child races, it would have been featured prominently in the trailer, instead of them focusing exclusively on more presumably Nord children. You never know, though, but it's just my educated guess based on what they've done so far. Though you'd think that they would eventually add in stuff like the missing marriage options and nonhuman children since so many people on the forums complain about it.

If this is so, it's most likely because there is a mod for PC that does the same things... However I wouldn't mind getting HF for my PC copy as well.
They're not going to skimp out on the PC version of Hearthfire. Hearthfire will launch soon after the 30 days exclusivity deal wears off (which most likely means an early October release for PC). I kind of want Hearthfire, even though I already use a mod that does something similar.

It doesn't take the whole team to build a DLC. I would imagine a few designers are working on this, maybe one or two artists, maybe a programmer. But the rest of the team is probably hard at work on the next DLC.

It does really svck for PS3 owners that they still don't have Dawnguard, but designers and artists are useless in that regard, and it doesn't help to have them sitting around doing nothing. Not good business.

Most of the original team would probably be hard at work on the next game, only a small team would be left to work on DLC. And nobody would be sitting around doing nothing.

I'm sorry but the mod that started this thread is full of it. I didnt see anything about PS3. Plus they cant get the game, or first DLC to "run properly". How long is Bethesda going to keep stringing us along instead of just telling us to piss off?

I am tired of being calm, I am tired of trying to be civil, it is time that Bethesda and the mods and GStaff to know that we are pissed off. No one has said a word about Dawnguard for PS3 in 2 weeks and now we know why, because they were too busy pleasing Microsoft again.

I'm still hoping that they will add in the missing child races for the adoption options. Otherwise, there's bound to be a plethora of "Why can't I adopt a " threads everywhere. :obliviongate: :chaos: :ahhh: :ahhh:

Not to be terribly offensive, but the lack of PS3 related stuff is because this thread is for discussing Hearthfire, and it's probably considered off topic. Also the moderators aren't employees.

I do sympathise with you guys, it is taking a stupidly long time, and I don't know if it's really trouble with Bethesda, Sony or what, so I can't go pointing any fingers justifiably. Most likely, like with the PC release, someone in the marketing for these games has gone and decided to delay it until the next publicity stunt, and of course forbidden the devs from mentioning it. Of course, that's me making assumptions and by no means am I or anyone else who say they think they know correct, unless Todd is their real-life best friend or something.

Anyways, on Hearthfire; Definitely looks interesting, I'm assuming you can only build one house as it would be a bit breaking to build more than one. Hopefully you can expand and shape it as much as you want - a cottage or a stronghold kind of thing.

You can buy more than one house so I assume you can build more.
You can probably build one per hold as the trailer's dialogue with one's spouse shows him asking her to move to the house in the ...
