Hints found about the next DLC Found in 1.8 Beta

Post » Tue Oct 16, 2012 3:08 am

Dragons mounts

It'll be as bad as Killcams, if true.

This.

The rest of the DLC looks fairly promising. Mind you, I'm not naive enough to get my hopes up after the last two DLCs, but the different armor types and location markers, to me, suggest an attention to detail rather than this ADHD "omg let's add half-assed vampires then half-assed Falmer then half-assed adoption then half-assed...." policy we've seen so far.

But dragon mounts? Sound gimmicky as hell, not to mention unbalanced. How the HELL is anyone supposed to kill you if you're riding a dragon?

What other purpose would there be behind adding a saddle bone to the dragon body data?

I knew Update.esm was hiding something from us!

Don't see why not... but it will probably be much faster, less exhausting and safer (no invincible Slaughterfishes) to use a regular method.
Yeah, It was pretty scary swimming from Vvardenfell to Solstheim in Morrowind. Clank, Clank, Clank, OOOOOOh every five seconds.

Wow! Thanks for this. There certainly are similarities with what was leaked from Dawnguard (Snow Prince, etc.)

Went back and scanned the other thread as I completely missed it because of work...

Wait. We could swim to Solstheim in Morrowind? Of all the time spent playing that game, I never even bothered to try. :woot:
Haha. I still learn new things to this day when I play Morrowind. So much mystery in that game.

So how is this dragon-riding going to work? We get a mini-game where after we defeat a dragon we get to magically ride it?

I actually really hope they don't do Solstheim, primarily because a mod group has been working on it for months and are done the exteriors about now:

And also the whole been there done that feeling. Still, could be interesting having a bunch of Dunmer trying to cram themselves onto the island. Maybe New Vivec?
I feel the same way, hoping this isn't true.

Oh well, let us hope that we are not required to do it at least.

well, we already can ride Odahviing during the main quest (with a cut-scene but we ride it), probably we will be able to ride him again if we wish or new friendly dragons alligned with parthunax :)

The issue being 2/3rds of the player base won't have access to that mod. Not wanting a DLC because a mod already does it/is planning to do it is pretty selfish.

Just when you think you've done literally everything in that game after thousands of hours of game time then bam, something new. :tops:

Seems like we'll be getting an announcement sooner rather than later now, if I am interpreting the latest post on Bethblog correctly.

I hope they allow us to do a truly evil act that crosses the line from villain to complete monster.
I hope they let us double cross people. Let's take the Golden Claw quest.

*after you get the claw*

"You see the problem here? I can sell this claw to a collector and get the same price you are going to give me if not more. I want double of what you were going to give me. If not, then I'm selling it. So what is it? Are you going to give me double or am I going to sell this? And I know how much this claw means too you."

*quest where you have to rescue someone*

[Lying]"I know where your husband is, but before I go rescue him. I want you to pay me half in advance."[/Lying]

*wife gives you 250 gold*

"You dumb idoit I was lying. I have no idea where he is and I have no intentions too find out either. Thank you for the gold."

Riding dragons sounds kinda stupid.
But didnt someone found a dragon mount file in previous updates when dawnguard wasnt announced? And it didnt made it in the dlc.
Lets hope this dont get added,But if it does.

Maybe we ride a dragon to get to solstheim? or maybe thats stupid,We could just take a boat.

Haha. I still learn new things to this day when I play Morrowind. So much mystery in that game.

...some stuff like Eltonbrand is a mystery... stuff like being able to skip the fourth and fifth chapter of the prophecies if you have high level and reputation could be called a mystery... many vampire quests in the game could be called a mystery... the alternative "Kill Vivec and reactivate Wraithguard with help of a Dwarf" MQ path is a mystery

...but being able to swim/walk to Solstheim? Calling it a mystery is kinda overrating it IMO. I always found it something that can obviously be done (just like swimming to Castle Volhikar in DG).

Either way, hope we can swim there just for lulz... tough Travel to Solstheim and Travel to Skyrim Map Markers hint that World maps will be separate... well, it wouldn't be hard to implement that it changes after reaching a certain point.

Everything sounds great except for dragon mounts. I would rather they bring back levitation instead.
