Probably not. He tried to set up the illusion that he actually cared, but he showed his true colors when he started insulting us and dropping phrases like "fangasm". He might be proven wrong about the show, or at least be mature enough to admit he was wrong, but he might not want to admit it's actually good. He's got a mountain of bias to overcome first.

Just got me a new phone a sweet HTC Thunderbolt and I can upload my own ringtones to it. I'm contemplating putting some ringtones/notifications on it but I need some dang MLPFIM stuff. Good god, I can't read sad stories.

I'm gonna feel sad for a week now, AND IT'S CHRISTMAS!

I believe this could be seen as a metaphor for insanity.

Dashie is a figment of his imagination, after his parents death he would cling onto anything that gave him comfort. My little pony was a good example, and he "found" Rainbow and began to hide from the public, to avoid Dashie being discovered (people finding out he's flipped his lid), he's cared for and everything.
Her running away represents his disorder really getting out of hand, and them making up represents him finally accepting his illness.
Celestia and the gang are kind of like a mental hospital, and him going through rehab, he gets over it slightly, and gets a job, sorting out the priorities of his life (Dashie's room getting replaced with an office) but her note and the pictures left remind him that the insanity is still very much a part of him, just hidden away.
