PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 16

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:30 am

Yeah I get what you mean. It's kind of...official unofficial proof, haha.

I agree with you, but Bethesda is not off the hook.
Bethesda needs to end the silence, and the evasive non-answers.
It's confusing to customers, it creates wild scenarios in the mind of people, and it's just bead to the business of selling games...
I can honestly get the impression that Bethesda staffers are politicians running for office, (with all the silence, vagueness, and misdirection); not game developers in the business of selling games to us.

Boycotting is a lose/lose situation either way.

Not buying could be seen as justification for supporting Xbox as the money not used to buy Dawnguard wouldn't match the bribe money so Bethesda will continue taking the bribes whereas buying the DLC would mean people are cool with the bribes. No matter what happens, we lose.

Apparently the moderators think this is the forum for suggesting people not buy anything form Bethesda until the scrap this timed exclusivity nonsense and learn to make games that work the first time. So here's my suggestion:

In a capitalist market, the only thing companies understand is money. So withhold your money from them until they start behaving the way you want them to, or someone else does in which event you give Bethesda's old business to them. Angry posts on forums, angry emails to companies, that doesn't matter. All that matters is that when they do get around to releasing their game, we all say "too little, too late" and they either get their business straight or fade away to a better company.

Apparently you didn't read the forum rules, or the opening post. I suggest you do both.

If I come back into this thread again because you all just want to create drama over nothing but impatience and lack of perspective, we'll have to give the thread another break.

It is repetitious, the posts are frequently rude and frankly, many of you seem to simply want to wind yourselves up over something that is, in the grand scheme of things - a very minor annoyance. Not even an inconvenience. You just want the DLC and you want it now... but you don't want to be patient, you don't wish to understand business practices, you do wish to make a mountain out of a relative molehill and so on and so forth.

But you still need to obey the forum rules.

Everybody calm down please. You're waiting for a DLC for a platform. Not the cure for some heinous disease or something. Geesh.

I was sent here by a moderator...and I'm actually suggesting that all this "drama" isn't the answer. action, or in this case inaction when the time to buy Dawnguard comes, is. That's not rude, that's, how did you put it, understanding business practices. I had a topic specifically about whether or not Dawnguard was still worth our money, but it got locked because I was told this topic was a better place for that discussion. So I regret any offense you might take, and if you lock the topic because everyone's not overjoyed with no news and getting lectured, well that's just immature on your part and I regret your immaturity as well.

Yeah, we are limiting discussion to this one thread, because a group seems to want to keep posting about it, though most others seem more irritated by the repetitive stuff, judging from reports. Other than the first line, my comments were general, not directed at you specifically.

However, please do not try to organize petitions, boycotts or whatever else, on these forums. That's in the forum rules. As is talking about moderator action - as in, PM the moderator, don't make posts about it, since is simply derails the threads.

As for "immaturity" - not sure what you are on about there - but this is the umpteenth permutation of this thread - most of the people who have been posting in it for the last 10 or so threads don't have anything new to say, so it's repetitive and has required a great deal of moderation. And we do shut down threads that that get out of hand - sometimes for good, sometimes just to have people step back, take a break before we have to start handing out warnings. We've had to have this thread take a break a couple times.

If you wish to discuss it further, feel free to PM me rather than derail the thread.

Not buying it will tell them we dont want DLC and they will take it away.
If they don't have a release date, how could they give one?
They say that because the can't determine when it will finish.
So stop ranting and deal with it, they are a buisness at the end of the day. Not your best friend.

Any word on if future dlc's are going to go the same route as Dawnguard? If so I'll just wait for the GOTY edition next year.

The next one is the exact same thing (confirmed exclusive deal for the Micro$oft Xbox 360).
Other possible DLCs are not confirmed to be exclusive...

Leydenne,

I would like to elaborate on jdj1007's post that will hopefully express what he is saying in a way which is constructive and (hopefully) appropriate for this forum.

Essentially this thread has become a way of people expressing their dissatisfaction with the way the Dawnguard dlc has been handled. People are hoping that Bethesda will in turn listen to what constructive feedback has been given and respond in a way that supports the users that are trying to express their concerns in a proper manner.

Unfortunately, Bethesda has not taken to these discussions very well. In their defense, this is most likely due to the large amounts of people simply spamming these threads out of frustration and anger. No matter who is right and wrong in this discussion though I think we can all agree that this thread has amounted to very little if any progress at all.

What I believe jdj1007 is trying to explain is that there are two ways for people to request change from a business: 1.) You present CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to the company 2.) You can vote with your dollar and stop buying their products. This is not a "call to arms" to tell people to stop buying Bethesda products but rather a statement telling forum users to either continue providing constructive feedback or, if you are really as fed up with Bethesda as you claim to be, then stop buying their products. There is no good excuse to simply spam hate threads or troll on these forums. If you have something you would like to suggest than say it but don't use these forums as a place to vent out your anger. I assume that if you are so passionate about posting on these forums than you must genuinely care about this game and want to support the team that is working so hard to make it for you. If you don't really care about this game, then stop posting. You don't need to be hating on a game that you aren't buying.

Just a friendly reminder, while you complain about a video game, there are people in your hometown, city and country who are literally starving to death. So yeah, you are all definitely responding to a video game delay appropriately.

This whole situation is actually very dissapointing to me more than anything. I understand how businesses work. I understand the passion of gamers...and how they keep the businesses running. I understand what it is like to be denied. Honestly, its very sad. The worst part of this in my opinion is the communication...or lack there of. The hard part is...is the exclusivity still going for FIGS? Is it over? We dont know why they are staying quiet regarding this issue. That is what has everyone in a frenzy....not knowing what is going on. It shows everyones lack of patience...but also shows everyones passion for the game. I am a ps3 user...i really want to play the game...i enjoy VENTING on here...because i have other people to vent with. I understand it can get out of control sometimes....but thats what happens when you are so passionate about something....things tend to get out of hand. Hopefully beth knows by know what chaos they have caused....and i hope they are working as hard as they can to get the chaos under control...and make things right with us....the customer.

Hello all! Any updates yet on the DLC for PS3 or PC?

The only news is that the caretakers of the realm are upset when people are anxiously awaiting to spend hard earned cash money to buy silly useless nonessential things, such as entertainment (video games and add-on DLCs).
Apparently only a "cure for some heinous disease or something" is a worthy investment for our money... :ermm:

Huh... I seem to remember the announcement saying that "all future DLC's" would have an XBox 360 exclusive period of at least a month. Maybe I read it wrong.

I hope not. I think they should alternate platforms. That is a fair way to give appreciation to all customers.

It's entirely possible (even likely), but only the first 2 are confirmed exclusive deals with Bethesda's most valued partner and co-conspirator (Micro$oft).
Other possible DLCs are shrouded in deep secrecy and total silence! (not a good sign, honestly)...

I'm hoping so! With the weekend over, maybe they'll have enough people to come up with some kind of (even estimate of a) decision and be able to make an announcement. Would be nice. Or at least get SOMETHING out of them.

Hopefully. =|
