PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #32

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 12:21 pm

I used to think that those of us who vowed to never purchase anything either developed or published by Bethesda were harsh extremist outliers but now I realize that we need a clubhouse and a newsletter.

Oh man, I'm glad I was excited to wake up and see this trailer this morning and find more Skyrim DLC on the way. Can't wait to buy this up and start playing again on my PS3!

Wait a minute...

Dragonborn was not announced as Exclusive to Xbox so I would be asking right now, is PS3 going to get it. They can't fall back on the "we only announced a xbox release" jive if they do that will for sure make it sound exclusive.

So, how do we think Bethesda is going to spin this one?

Besides the "we're working on it" thing, of course.

I don't care if it's the mods, gstaff, Pete Hines, or Todd Howard himself. We need answers NOW. If they had one shred of empathy for the PS3 users, they would be willing to help us with our questions. Not ignore us.

The two timed exclusives have been used up, and not only are PS3 users not getting Dragonborn, the PC users don't have day one access EITHER. This is total BULL CRAP. We need to know what's going on, and not "We're working on it."

Bethesda is seriously about to lose a massive ammount of once loyal fans if they don't act now.

You all know they are huddled around a monitor right now watching the reaction and chuckling uncontrollably, right?
Maybe the announcement was done this way just to get a rise, and then announce PC and maybe PS3 later today or tomorrow... oh ffs who am I kidding.

On Oct 26th, Pete Hines gave us the last update: " I don't have any new info on updates or DLC. When I do, I'll let folks know. just not planning on saying that daily."

Pete, it's been SEVERAL days, any chance of a comment? At this point, you would be better off clearly stating you have no intention of releasing the content if that's the case. The frustration would surge for a few days and then be done. Stringing people along is borderline "ethically irresponsible" for a company. Most people only want one thing - are you listening? - Honesty. Simple, clear, honest dialogue so they know what is happening.

If you think honesty during this would have been worse than what you are doing - well, I sincerely wonder how you are the VP of PR. I'm certain you are a capable leader within Bethesda. Being a leader requires giving information to those who look to you for answers.

Pete, it's time to lead. Give people the answers they want.

Class act debuting dragonborn. Guess what? You guys are nailing your own coffin bethesda. Your butt buddies at microsoft will be the only empathetic people to show up at the funeral. The rest of us will be smiling :)

They have a Speech skill of 0, and a Pickpocket skill of 1000000000000000.

pete only seems to reply to either the ridiculously complimentary or the outrageously inflammatory.

he never seems to engage with people asking legitimate questions and has habitually refused to acknowledge any problems with the 'product' on the PS3 platform.

"Skyrim on PS3 is a great game and you cant convince me otherwise"

If we blast them with messages and tweets they'll answer eventually. We just can't relent.

From what I have learned about the people here, even honesty at this late hour would regain a great deal of lost trust and salvage what has quickly become a PR nightmare. I can't understand why a company would allow itself to be brutalized by it's client base when the solution is so easy.

they are definitely not going to change tactics to honesty at this point.

they are more into clearing the dissidents from these boards and making money through MS exclusivity.

if they are working at all on the ps3 version still would be the biggest surprise and likely its only so they can continue to carry and extend the 'timed exclusivity' with MS

Bethesda makes me sick. They disgust me. I am only buying used titles from these deadbeats from now on, and i started with dishonored.

That tweet has been ongoing for a few days now. Not new at all.

There has been ZERO response since the trailer for Dragonborn went live from Bethesda other than the 'go watch' on the bethblog twitter feed.

It was a PR nightmare in Aug., i couldn't rightly say WHAT you call it now.

I wasn't making light of your demand for honesty. In fact it's a noble goal. I'm just saying that were Bethesda to betray their DNA and actually dish-out some honest answers = no one would believe them.

That's just how utterly broken the relationship is.

I think they call this "career ending" in most companies. To be clear, I'm not looking to have Pete fired. But there comes a time when a person is either doing their job, or they aren't, and the company has to decide what to do about it. Bethesda may be at that point. Or, maybe they need to add some PR folks to the company to help disseminate information.

They could even have an XBOX PR person, PC PR person and PS3 PR person so the issues are addressed specific to users. Since they treat each community differently, might as well have a point of contact for each.
