The Skyrim Dead Is Dead Thread VII

Been good so far! She also got a good killcam on a bandit

Redguard woman: "IS THAT THE BEST YOU'VE GOT!?"

Caendil: "no, this is" *forces bandit to her knees and jams sword through skull*

I'm tempted to stick with ancient nord weapons, they look sooooo mean!

EDIT: ok, so I got the itch to pick it back up again. Went pelt-hunting, nailing a few unlucky elk, fighting wolves, sabrecats and bears. Survived a couple of spriggan ambushes (thought I'd lost Lydia during one, but I think shed only been staggered), and found Bolars Oathblade (I think that's the name).

Spoiler

Then the decision was taken to go dungeon diving. Caendil and Lydia made very short work of the silent moons, and the vampires in broken fang cave. To round off the day, shimmermist cave was chosen. As soon as we entered the cave, I saw the mushrooms which herald Falmer. Progressed through it fairly well, not even the chaurus posed too much of a threat. Got to the end and saw a pair of dwemer doors, opened them and saw a lone gloomlurker, and immediately charged it. Unfortunately, the mist in the room had obscured the dwemer centurion on the back wall, which promptly activated and unleashed a gout of steam into the fray. Caendil took the full brunt, yet SOMEHOW emerged from the attack with a sliver of health, chugging potions. Needless to say, a headlong retreat occurred, and halfway back to the surface it transpired that Lydia had also miraculously survived! So a halt was called, the chasing gloomlurker dealt with, and the centurion left to brood over it's treasures as (level 12) Caendil and Lydia returned to whiterun, thankful to still be alive...

Alas, Thadon is dead already.
We share the sorrow of your loss. He is with the fallen.

It completely changed the way I play. I no longer just run and gun. It takes a little more thought, for me. Still not to the point of being too cautious and not doing anything.

I am glad you ran with it and hope you start a new.

This is gold! I think I have my new character! But this one MUST use the Thu'um.
Yes, the power of the voice. That type of character should start with that as a racial ability.

Well, I thought I'd give this a go
And we are thrilled you thought to give it a go. Great stuff. Look forward to hearing more about your Bosmer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I ended up with a few corrupt saves. This scene of unfortunate events was obviously from testing so many mods with a continuing character. I usually test mods with a new default character placed in Riverwood from the main menu, using the console command
coc Riverwood
So I was very frustrated and in the heat of things I inadvertently deleted saves that I meant to keep. I should have moved them to another folder for safe keeping.

Looking at the glass as half full. This gives me a chance to restart Tomar La Vida, like he was meant to be. I wasn't thrilled about the way he started or the way his build was headed, anyway. So all is well...aside from the fact that ValKyn and MyKyn are lost. But what can you do?

Keep going! That's what! And here we go with the new and improved Tomar La Vida.

Notable mods I am using ;
Traps http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12709 great, but I would really love to be able to add my own poison.

More traps http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9463 a nice selection of traps and bombs

Death in a bottle http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10868 this is an absolute brilliant poisoner mod. Some of the ones are amazing. Like..
The targets shadow comes to life and attacks the target. Or...
I forget the name but it throws the target into this heightened state of psychotic madness. Cycling through stages of Calm, Fear and Fury every few seconds.

Runes, and lots of them http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5898 This mod is a huge addition for any mage. I just got it for the impressive selection of runes. And it lets you set multiple ones. This will be great for the bombs from the trap mods that need you to shoot them to activate. Smashing!

And as always the LAL mod.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9557

Tomar is the last of a blodline from the Dark Brotherhood in Cyrodiil. Knowing that the Brotherhood would execute her unborn child. His parents escaped and raised him in seclusion. They made tale of an uncle in Skyrim. He had a secret location just outside of Whiterun. (another player home mod).

Loosing his father in a freak Minotaur attack on their secluded home. Tomar spent his teen years with is mother. A renowned, respected and feared Alchemist. She taught Tomar her mastery in the art of potions and poisons.

MOTHER : Any Oaf can kill, my son. Execution is an art. A poem recited with the breath of deadly vapor. An opera conducted with a bladed baton. A portrait overlay of crimson. Each one to be as unique as the mark themselves. Hold dear these words, my son. As you enshrine the 5 tenants of the Brotherhood.

TOMAR : I will mother. I will never forget.

In the passing years Tomar's mother grew ill. In her last moments she tells him of a Mark that needs to be eliminated. This was a mark that was left stale from the Brotherhood. A Mark that she and his father swore by Sithis....A mark by the name of ______.

MOTHER : The one know as ______ has fled to Skyrim. Go to Skyrim, my son. Find your Uncle, find ______ and fulfill the contract that was written in blood...fulfill your destiny. Now, go with Sithis, my son The Nightmother calls for me.

TOMAR : May she wrap you in her cold, loving embrace...Go with Sithis, dear mother...*tear*

Tomar sets out aboard a vessel to take him up the East cost to the North shore of Skyrim. The ship takes damage from a large patch of ice, during a massive storm, and capsizes. Tomar comes to...barely alive and all but freezing. Held up by a floating cargo chest, he gains his senses, salvages everything he can carry and swims from the sinking vessel.

He makes it to shore and encounters a small pack of wolves. Using a woodcutter's axe from the wreck, he takes them out easily. The temp is dropping fast, he is wet and on the verge of dying from hypothermia. He seeks shelter in what seems to be an ancient Nord ruin. This will have to do, for now.

He starts a fire and sheds the cold wet clothes to dry them by the heat.http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560942102393607964/8466BF0DFF9824BCFC7D3F0757ADC36188F335D0/

He has but two questions. Where am I?. And better yet...who am I?

EDIT : After posting this, I thought about the addition of this mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11163 and the influence it would have had on the "shipwrecked" option of the alternate start. But it doesn't get activated in the game until you get the "Survival Guide" from an Innkeeper. Otherwise I would have restarted. I installed it anyway.

Another one I will note, and it should be interesting, is this one. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15094 We'll see.

Wow I just found this thread, I would like to submit the story of the recent late Madeskir

Race : Khajiit
Class : Dual wield warrior (Sword & Dagger)
Level : 14 (at death)

Spoiler
Madeskir got lost from his caravan and stranded in Skyrim. Unfortunately for him, he got captured in an Imperial ambush and got dragged to Helgen. After much difficulty, he escaped to Whiterun to search for his caravan. On Whiterun he got directed to Riften, but none of the two caravan is his so he tried to search for another means to find his caravan. When Madeskir visit the Bee and Barb, he met Marcurio which then tell him about the College of Winterhold, so he hire Marcurio and took carriage to Winterhold. How glad he is when he reached there they taught him how to shoot light and block fireball. Overjoyed, he follows the next lesson to Saarthal, there he met one of those psijic order and explored the dungeon wishing to find a spell to see far at his caravan. But wizard's life is though, at the end, he met a really scary draugr, none of Marcurio or Tholfdir's spells can hurt him and Madeskir got hurt just by being near him. As his health drop ridiculously fast, he ran to drink some potion and cast some newly learned healing spell. However as he turned back, Tolfdir is dead, and Marcurio is on his knee. Madeskir tried to get Jyrik's staff thinking that it might be able to hurt Jyrik but no, Jyrik stand still unaffected and the second lightning from the staff ended Marcurio's life. Madeskir tried to run past the scary draugr but he failed, his life ended by Jyrik's frost spell.
Next character:
Name:Linx
Race:Imperial
Class:Thief (Bow and Dagger)
Linx is a thief from Imperial City. However, ever since the empire signed the treaty, he doesn't get much from within houses in Imperial city. One of his friend from Bruma Erna suggested that they joined some bandit whose operation area is in Skyrim. Linx and Erna joined the bandit hoping that they get to steal from the bandits. But their plan failed, Erna was thrown into the pit fight and Linx was tied in his sleep, waiting for his time to be thrown into the pit. Luckily, he got two lockpicks with him and a treasure chest is just beside his cage. I sure hope this one works.

What a start for Tomar! This should be interesting. Those poisons and traps look astonishingly cool. Sorry to hear about the Kyns.

Duralekh gro-Bulsakh and Erik the Slayer are on their way to Mzinchaleft. They passed a lighthouse and went in to get warm. The following concerns Frostflow Lighthouse.

Spoiler
Now, on his own Big D would never have stepped a second foot inside when greeted with such a scene. He is also not the type to read people's letters and personal journals. Erik the Curious is, however. When he learned that there were missing family members possibly still alive, D was in for the adventure.

Of course it just got more tragic at every turn, but the D team prevailed. Until that point of no return, where the Bulsakh found himself alone.

He reached the nest. By then it was easy to see that he would be quickly killed if he used his usual stride-in-and-smash-em approach. Instead he hung back, sniping until he was nearly out of arrows. He has gotten some archery practice in with the dragons, but he is still a beginner. He had to finish down in the water with his axes, but by then there were only two of them left. One was the big one. It was tough, but he made it.

It may be because I’ve been sick as a dog and still had a fever, but I had to dry off the controller after that fight. Walking up that ramp was just pure relief. Big D put the old sailor to rest and spent a moment enjoying the sun again. For the first time, he had some thoughts about his own small family. Just him and Sylgja. If he gave her children, they would be Nords. There was no chance they would live out their lives for the good of some stronghold. That relieved a worry he didn’t know he had.

But for the immediate future, he needed to restock on arrows and healing potions. Whatever took out Mjoll the Lioness in her prime must be a formidable enemy. It would be foolish to go in unprepared.

Oh, about the big hammer that appeared at the end of his previous adventure: he left it right there on the shrine.

Wow I just found this thread,

Linx is a thief from Imperial City.
And we are glad you did. That story was great, but it went into to a little too much detail about the Mage's questline. That is absolutely fine. In fact it is encouraged to give as much detail as you want. But if it gives a little too much, or you THINK it MIGHT be too much detail, then it's better to be safe than sorry. This ensures that everyone can enjoy the thread as we can keep it in the General Discussion forum. So a moderator had to put that part in tags.

Still, we are awaiting the continued adventures of Linx.

What a start for Tomar! This should be interesting. Those poisons and traps look astonishingly cool. Sorry to hear about the Kyns.
Thanks...I hope so...Yes they are...Thank you again.

Sounds like Big D is doing fine. I had to pass on the spoiler. Thank you for noting the content. However, I did glance at a word or two while in the reply window. Do we expect the pitter-patter of little D feet in the future?

----------------------------------------------------------------

Tomar is leveling rather quickly. He is almost to level 9 after 6 hrs of gameplay. that is really haling booty for me. So far he has increased Destruction some, along with Archery, 1H and Smithing. He has yet to make a potion. He still suffers from Amnesia. Yet he is compelled to collect any ingredient he sees. He doesn't know why.

Exiting the tomb/ruin/cave/dungeon/thingy place, Tomar is all nice and dry. He is getting hungry and there are a few Slaugerfish nests near the shore, he can rob. He jumps across a few big rocks and bends over to harvest some breakfast. He is startled by, what seems to be a Nirnquake. He is sadly mistaken. He was just as mistaken in thinking a line of 10 Horkers were a bunch of rocks.

They hit like a truck, but they move like giant snail. Still, he had no real means of taking one on, let alone 10. So, he ran walked away.

After a bit of gathertng, it started getting dark. WTF? It was just 7 AM a second ago. I still had the game set to Vanilla time. That was immediately changed. We stumbled across a few skeletons and it was getting pitch black. This would be fun.

We had to position ourselves where the skyline silhouetted the damn things. Then I realized they were easily tracked by the neon blue eyes. (derp) This led to another spooky ice mountain. On top we could just make out a Skeleton, and what appeared to be a wolf, in the far distance.

Tomar has a bow form the other bone men and a firebolt staff from the wreck. He draws the staff and targets the wolf. He shoots and scores, from a hidden position. This magic mod must calculate a spell bonus, because he one shot that wolf. Still in hidden mode we eased fumbled around in total darkness, trying to pick up on the skeleton.

30 min later, we made it to the location. There we found a broken skeleton and a table...hmmm. No wonder that wolf didn't move. Well, it did have four legs. I am now curious about the one-shot on the Skeleton with the staff.

I hope not too soon, or Filnjar might be the one handing out cigars. Big D only gets sweet Comfort about half of the time. Plus Sylgja won’t always cook for him. She’s probably buggy, but maybe she’s just tired from working in the mine.

Duralekh has reached level 20 at 34 hours of play. I hoped that focusing on health and just a few skills might build a durable aggressive melee character, and it seems to be working. (Two axes, non-enchanted fur armor, no blocking.) He’ll only wear his wedding ring and the necklace that Sylgja gave him, so a less sentimental character would be in better shape. Two-handed bandits can still be a real danger in close quarters. Also someone recently shield-bashed the heck out of him, that was a surprise.

The Bulsakh and Erik made it through their trial by steam in the Dwarven ruin. I was very, very nervous about the big shiny guy at the end. D was well prepared with vegetable soup and his last homecooked meal from Sylgja. The fight was fast and furious, and very loud. Erik’s dremora caitiff has a real mouth on him. It was a little worrisome at first when I noticed that Erik joined the battle by plinking the monster with an arrow, but he got with the program as soon as D took his first serious hit.

The closest call we had in that whole adventure was earlier against a gloomlurker. Damn he was tough. It did not help that D had two ice spikes sticking through him already from Erik fumbling with staves. Big D ended up running around a fountain healing himself while the summoned dremora cleaned up. Not his finest moment, but he lived.

Erik had some nice conversational offerings throughout. My favorite was when the two of them were viewing a defunct centurion early on in the ruin, and Erik remarked, “The stories don’t say why the Dwemer disappeared. I wonder if their machines turned on them.”

The fellows are heading up to Solitude for a rest and possibly a ride most of the way back to Shor’s Stone. The Bulsakh is usually not one for carriages, but he is worn out and missing his lady. He’s also not much of a looter, but he does have a few little gifts for Sylgja. Some glowy things from the ruin (chaurus eggs) and some nice blue flowers from Hjaalmarch (deathbell). He’s sure that will put her in the mood for love.

That is an interesting concept...may be a hint, of as to where the Dwemer went.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tomar could see the top of a, man or mer built, structure. It was just breaking the misty canopy. Making his way to it. He comes across several wolves, horkers and a bandit. Eventually he makes it into the small town of Winterhold.

He stumbles into the local mercantile and finds the shopkeeper having trouble starting the fire. Without hesitation, Tomar ignites it with a quick burst of flames.

BIRNA : Hey! Watch it with that magic!....damn vizzards...

TOMAR : Sorry...If you were actually trying to prevent a fire. I can easily exting...

BIRNA : No, no. That is fine. I just get the jitters sometimes, from being close to that college. Are you a new student or professor?

TOMAR : I...I...I'm not sure?

BIRNA : Hmm...you are a strange one...You will fit right in there... How can you not be sure?

TOMAR : I mean I can't remember. I just came to inside of sinking ship, off the North shore. I spent the night in some kind of tomb and made my way here this morning. I can't recall anything else.

BIRNA : Oh my! that's horrible. That foggy cost is littered with many vessels. Most are small fishing boats. The larger ships usually stay away and port to other areas. You are very lucky. That is for sure. Well, you have magic skills. The College could help with that and maybe they could help with your memory.

TOMAR : It is very fuzzy, but I think I could always do that. Like it was shown to me as a child. I can see myself but the teacher is blurred out.

He thanks the shopkeeper and as he is leaving....

BIRNA : Remember, I will sell just about anything. If it is worth my time. :bunny:

TOMAR :  oookaayyy, I'll....just...um..yea.

Tomar approaches the bridge. The elf is short but they eventually come to terms. He expresses interest and she offers him a test. Being a novice in fire, she shows him how to trow the fire. This was good....or maybe not. He can make fire, but he by far, no mage. Finally he was able to spit out a small blob of smoke that barely discolored the ground. Though not impressed, she allows him entry. Maybe the college can make something out of him.

Tomar spent the next few days at the College. No one there showed any interest in helping with his Amnesia. Even the Illusionist, wrote it off as a bump to the head and comments that "Things have a way of working themselves out....eventually."

However, his time spent there was not for loss. He realizes he has an uncanny aptitude for the Alchemicals. Gathering every ingredient he could carry, he slips out in the middle of the night. He enters the local Inn to trade a few things and get some food. He chats with the Innkeeper.

DAGUR : New in town, huh?

TOMAR : I am actually on my way out.

DAGUR : Figures. People don't stay here too long. That damn college scares them off. Where are you headed?

TOMAR : I don't know.

DAGUR : Well the carriage out side will take you to Windhelm.

TOMAR : Windhelm? Whats that place like?

DAGUR : It's the main hold in the area. The Jarl Ulfric resides there. There is also tale of strange things happening there, so be careful.

TOMAR : What kind of strange things?

DAGUR : They say, a boy by the name of "Quentin Tarantino"...is trying to contact...the Dark Brotherhood.

TOMAR : The Dark Brotherhood? hmm....That seems familiar to me, for some reason.

DAGUR : Well, lets hope it not from the wrong reasons.

Tomar hails the carriage to Windhelm. It should be quite the ride.

And it was. This was the first time I have tried this mod and it seems to be a very nice one indeed. Along the way they come upon a guard walking in the middle of the road. Not good...for the guard. The carriage runs him over. A couple of bounces and you hear the guard "ugh!..argh!" You have the option to ask the driver to stop here. I looted the guard and we continued along. It also has the option to "wake me up when we get there".

We arrive at the stables of Windhelm.

Wow! You had 10 coming at you? Did you provoke them? Or do you have any mods that alter the wildlife? I ask this because I know they are not initially hostile. I leave them alone because I think they're cute with how they put their "paws" (how are those called?) over their faces, like they're ashamed. There I go all mushy again...

I found a new liking for Erik! Somehow I never took him as a follower before. But my definite favorite line from him is when you walk somewhere with an impressive view and he goes (putting this in spoilers as it gives insight on Erik's personality)
Spoiler
"By the NINE!!" It's just the way he says it, he's so truly impressed and moved, it's funny sometimes! haha...hmm what's that you said Erik by the how many?....Gotcha! Welcome to the club!

Ha! They will turn hostile, if you get too close. It only takes one. There were a lot in the area. It was probably more like 6 or 7 but it seemed like a dozen.

Exactly! I can never get that kids name right. I have called him that (in my head) from the first time the game said his name.

I am new to DID and after reading several of the posts and how this play style works I have decided to give it a try.

I typically have been playing on Master difficulty but for the purposes of this I am going to take it down to expert.

Name: Krosis Dread-Pulse
Race: Breton
Class: Battle-Mage
Current level: 8

Major Skills: One-handed, conjuration (zombies), restoration, and destruction (ice)
Secondary Skill: Heavy armor

Krosis Dread-Pulse is undead. He has little memories of his past before death but more and more comes back to him as he murders and kills. He was resurrected for unknown purposes in High Rock but his undead features (white skull tattoo, pitch black eyes) scared his people and he was forced to flee to Skyrim. He only comes into towns after dark so his features are not so noticeable, he preys on anyone wandering on their own after hours and reanimates their corpses only to smash their skulls with his mace (he is quite sadistic(first victim was Sven of Riverwood, should of stayed in the tavern)) He has had some fragmented memories/dreams (he is not sure which) of Skyrim and is looking for answers.

Anyways we will see how long he lives, hopefully for a while cause he is quite fun to play. !

Glad you are here. I hope you enjoy your gamer as much as the fine people that have taken up this "ironman" playstyle.

Be sure to read OP, if you haven't already. It gives a detailed insight to the the memorial and post #2 and #3 list all the fallen that have been in Skyrim. The OP also links to the DID Wiki.

Good luck.

Saw this thread, and had to join the forum just for this. So, heres my first DID character. Note that he mainly uses unarmed, which is something of a role-playing choice, to simulate advancing age (unarmed being very effective at low levels, but less and less as the game goes on - as he gets older, and physically weaker).

Name: Dar'Zak
Race: Khajiit
Skills: speech, heavy armour, sneak, archery, enchanting, smithing.
Personality: he is self-interested but not immoral. Though the nords of Skyrim would mistake his cautiousness for cowardice, he is simply prudent. Probably ;). His first priority is to get rich, so that he may eventually retire, and stop risking his life for a living. Under certain circumstances, he has actually been known to act counter to this philosophy, especially when family is concerned (his, or someone else's. A sore topic, as his parents died when he was young). Quick-thinking and cunning as many Khajiit are, he will be tested by the years to come...

Well, been a busy few days for Caendil and Lydia... Lots of looting, joined the stormcloaks (Lydias idea), mined loads of gold, killed a couple of dragons, helped some of the companions kill a snow bear when we crossed paths, still rocking an ancient nord sword (found a 'honed' one, whoopee!!), and no close scraqes to report.

Caendil also had a mystifying happy feeling, and the words 'promotion' and 'west ham' float through her head, closely followed by 'tottenham' and 'Europa league' which caused an alarming amount of hilarity. Didn't seem quest related, so she put it down to too much mead...

Wolfstanus
Nord.
Light armor, one handed, marksman, smithing, restoration, sneak and alchemy
Killed those who deserved it. Went out of his way to help. Relentless, and Remorseless when committed. Always in the shadows or in the corner of a inn. Never really spoke.

While out stalking his latest targets. He was stopped by a man running down a hill. The man was in rags and looked close to death. Taking this mans appearance as a sign he was close to his targets wolfstanus asked a few clipped questions while giving him some directions to a town and using his skills to heal him. The man ran off after telling him all he knew. Wolfstanus continued on his quest for several more hours. Noticing that the forest looked dead.vthe further he went the more it looked so. Being ever ready he pulled his bow out expecting to see the dead. As he continued on he saw what he had been expecting. He saw bandits and they had been killed. This coverd 2 things. The third he was still trying to figure out... Untill it hit him.

We are certainly glad you joined. Welcome to the forum and welcome to the thread. Have a complementary http://images.uesp.n.../Fishystick.jpg

Your character and concept is very interesting. We can't wait to hear about your Kahjiit.

Great story, but I am a little confused. (At my age it doesn't take much.) So, forgive me for asking, but you speak of your character in past tense. So is this a new guy or has he passed and you were just sharing his final moments?

Tomar makes it to Windhelm. He will spend the next few weeks doing small tasks for people to earn gold. He is very good with his hands and his attention to detail is unrivaled. The Blacksmith is very impressed.

He spends a lot of time in the local Alchemist shope. The old man that runs the place is a complete ass. Especially when he sees that the young Tomar is so talented. The assistant befriends Tomar in hopes that some of that will be bestowed upon him.

One night, after more than a few pints, Tomar was stumbling through the streets. He is staying at the Alchemy shope, after a sad turn of events placed the Assistant as the sole proprietor. Tomar gets to the door and cant find his key. Even in this drunken state he manages to pick the lock. Only to pass out on the floor as the door closes behind him.

*fades to black*
*dreaming* - Tomar has visions of a young boy with his parents. The vision is distorted, but he can make out their activities, around a small house in the woods. Then the image is overcome with several Minotaurs.

MOTHER : Tomar!

The father is struck down as the mother escapes with the child.
- a few hrs later -
*fades in*

Tomar awakens and finds himself not in the small shope of potions, but in a seemingly abandoned home. He isn't even sure if he is in Windhelm.

The following contains related info about the DB questline.

Spoiler
Tomar follows the cadence of a striking object and what sounds to be a low chant. As he enters the room of origin, he startles a young boy.

BOY : You came! I can't believe it really worked! Oh! Thank you Night Mother, for sending an assassin from the Dark Brotherhood!

TOMAR : Quentin Tarantino...

QT : You know who I am? Man you guys are god....um, I mean good!

Tomar is overcome with passionate feelings of motive and provocation. The boy begins to dictate the details of the target.

QT : There is this old bitty named....Hey! are you alright?

Tomar closes his eyes and slightly turns his head, as a faint voice whispers in the back of his mind...

TOMAR : Grelod of Riften.

QT : Woah.....you guys ARE good...I mean god.

Tomar makes his way back to the shope and start getting his things together. The carriage outside the gate is in route to Whiterun. He can go there first or wait until tomorrow for the next carriage to Riften. Or he could just purchase a map from the driver and set out on foot.

He gets a map and upon his viewing..."Hmmm...Whiterun. Why does that ring..."

TOMAR : Driver!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT : Spoiler free. Wrapped in tags to make it appear that is is not just a wall of text.

Spoiler
Tomar arrives in Whiterun. His head is hurting from trying to remember. Trying to remember who he is. The dream gave him a name but that is where his identity ends. There is no sir name to put with the first. There is no history to put with the sir. Who was he? Tomar knows that he is tied to this Brotherhood...But how? Why was he drawn to Quentin Tarantino? Who or what spoke to him? How does the familiarity of Whiterun fit into all of this? Maybe he will find answers there.

Tomar enters the gates and makes his way through town. He patrons the shops and finds himself in the local tavern. Here he should pick up on something. At least a potential job to fund his journey. Where ever that may lead.

He takes a bounty for some Bandits in an old tower near by. This will give him a chance to test his archery skills he has been working on. As well as some freshly brewed potions. Some good and some bad...well, mostly bad.

Along they way to the Bandits tower. He gets the opportunity to hone his long distance shots. He takes out a few of the local wildlife, and spots a shadowy figure atop a hill in the distance. The figure is but a speck at that range. He checks his map. That spot is noted, form a book he recently read, to be a popular place of hostile necros, He was not taking any chances. Tomar aims and fires the first shot. He seen the dust fly a long ways below the intended target. The figure gets jumpy and starts moving around. Tomar can see something being conjured next to the, now known, Necromage.

Tomar is too far out for the Necro to spot the arrows origin. He settles down and returns to his...what ever he was doing. Shooting again from hidden. Tomar adjusts his second shot. This time he aims a full body length above the Creepy figure. He takes a breath and holds steady....The arrow finds its mark. The mage was down.

SIDE NOTE : (I added a line to the ini files to increase the distance of the effect the arrows have in relation to the actual flight. It doesn't change the physics of the flight trajectory, but it allows the arrow to actually damage the target instead of just passing through it, at lone range, in the vanilla game. I don't know why Beth...oh, never mind.)

Now at the tower, well the tower is in sight, and there are bandits moving around. At first it was like shooting fish in a bucket. Then they spotted him. There were three left. One was a Bandit Chief and he wasn't going to be nice about it.

The started across the bridge, one was way in front of the BC and his little buddy. Tomar coats an arrow with a poison that forms a toxic cloud upon contact with the skin. This lingering cloud will harm all that pass through it. This was an experiment, but it had to at least help.

The shot hits the first guy but he comes out of the fog. And is not slowing down. The rest of the gang runs through it and just grunts a little. Ok! time to split. Tomar ducks around the corner to break their line of sight and slams an Inviso pot. He strips down to stay silent and sneaks out the back door.

Now at a safe distance, he can regroup. The bandits give up and headed back to their post. The last guy would not make it. The fog lifted, but not before the first Bandit walked back through it. (idiot) There were only two left.

Two inviso potions and two slit throats later. He headed back to Whiterun.

New character:

Name: Annabeth
Race: Breton
Gender: Female

Class: Mystic Archer
Skills: Sneak, Archery, Conjuration, Alteration.

She buried the dagger deep into his chest,
"I'll see you in Oblivion, Father."
The young Breton withdrew the blade, the elderly man uttered a gargle, coughing up blood, and fell to the ground.

Annabeth, the Breton girl turned to the corpse of her mother.
"You didn't deserve this, at least you can take solace in that I avenged you."

Annebeth's Father had, in a drunken rage, felled his wife. The young Breton girl, long the subject of her Father's abuse, thought it only just to put the old dog down for good.

Annabeth buried her mother as best she could, she left her father to rot. The girl, at the age of 16, left her modest home, too many bad memories.

"Well, lass, I definitely have a job for you. Bandits. Just over the border there into Skyrim."
"Alright," responded Annabeth, "Just have my gold when I get back."
"Yes, yes," said the Barkeep, "I'll have 200 septims for you. Bring me ba-"
The door slammed shut, Annabeth had already left.

As she left the inn, Annabeth took the time to contemplate her life. She had been doing oddjobs, hunting down marks for gold for a while now. She had grown older, 23 now, by her count, wiser too, she liked to think.

Her long white-blonde hair trailed behind her in the wind, in contrast to her tanned skin, accented by a snow white face paint pattern, surrounding one of her mystical grey eyes. She shivered in the biting cold, her small frame didn't afford her much warmth. She bit her plump lips, and wrapped her cloak around her tightly.

Eventually, after crossing the border, the cold got too much to bare, she hunkered down in a hollowed out pine tree and tried to get some sleep. She made sure to conjure a familiar so that she would be protected from those that wish to do her harm.

When she awoke, mist surrounded her. Her body shook and she became aware of a constant rattling. She opened her eyes.

"Hey, you were caught trying to cross the border, right?" A Nord sitting across from her accosted her. She turned away and remained silent.

She was on a carriage, alright, what looked like Imperial soldiers, flanked the convoy. The other prisoners must be Stormcloaks, she thought. This would be a hard one to talk her way out of. She was confident that she could escape a jail cell.

She blanked out the ramblings of the Nords around her. They were headed into a village, soldiers everywhere, citizens stared from afar.
"This is Helgen," stated the Nord across fron her.

A headsman came into view. Annabeth drew a sharp breath and hopelessly scanned for avenues of escape.
"What do you think?" The Nord replied to the Horse thief adjacent, "End of the line."

I think I'm going to try this, by golly! Sounds like fun.

So here she is, my very first DiD character whom I started today:

Name: Idriel
Race: Bosmer
Gender: Female
Class: Hunter
Skills: Archery, Sneak, One handed (dual-wield), Light Armor, Cannibalism
Only playing on Adept because, for me, that's difficult enough....

Haven't really developed a backstory for her yet because I usually develop it as I play the character. She's pretty much just a run-of-the-mill Bosmer who ended up in Skyrim. There are a few RP things I'm specifically doing with this character, however:
  • Cannibalism:
    Spoiler
I got Namira's quest out of the way so I could actually use the mechanic, and use it often
  • Bosmer life style: I'm hunting animals, eating only meat, using mainly animal products, and wearing as many "natural" armors as I can. Basically following the Green Pact. Even though that really only applies to Valenwood flora, it's part of her life-style and both she and her stomach have gotten used to it. No veggies! :yuck: Archery is my main form of combat with a sword and dagger used if the enemies get too close. No blocking.
  • Realism: I try to eat when I can, find somewhere to sleep at night, bathe every few days, travel mostly between midday and late evening, and not run everywhere I go.
Don't really know how long this character will last (since I tend to die a lot ), and I probably won't be playing her constantly, so updates may be few and far between as long as she's still living. She already had a run-in with some Forsworn today that almost ended badly, but she managed to get out of there by the skin of her teeth....

Edited for spelling.

Well, finished Idriel's first successful session of life in Skyrim.

Overall, it was rather uneventful, though not completely devoid of excitement and adventure.

She got to experience the joys of flight for a brief moment after Alduin landed in front of her and Fus Ro Dah'd in her face! Not quite ready to take to the sky again, she decided it was time to head indoors. She hung out with Ralof for a while and, after escaping Helgen, she strolled on down to Riverwood, expertly sneaking by a pair of wolves on the road. She spent the night at Hod and Gerder's place, then set out on the road again the next morning.

She walked down to Whiterun, hitched a carriage ride to Markarth, and spent a few days running a few odds jobs while staying at the Silver-Blood Inn.
Spoiler
She also heroically saved Margaret from a Forsworn assassin by swiftly planting an arrow in his back.
After a few days in Markarth, Idriel decided it was time to move on. She began exploring the Reach, which was not without its perils. Her first encounter with a pair of Forsworn nearly led to her demise. She managed to kill one with her bow before fleeing, moving her little Bosmer legs as fast as she could. Later encounters were much more successful.
She spent a night at Old Hroldan Inn, and the next morning was greeted by
Spoiler
the ghost of a long dead soldier!
From there, she began traveling north past Karthspire Camp and, though her archery skills had improved considerably since her first Forsworn encounter, she decided stealth would be a much wiser approach.
She continued up into the mountains, fighting (and feasting upon) Forsworn and taking in the beautiful vistas. A particularly harrowing encounter with a bear left her running for her life once more (those bears are persistent little buggers!), but she managed to escape, and she now waits upon the edge of a cliff overlooking clear, blue rivers, ready for her next adventure.

She finished the session at level 6, and is currently wearing a full set of Forsworn armor, and wielding a Forsworn bow and sword, and a steel dagger.

He's dead... A named dragon killed me... Picked me up. Thought lydia had my back...

Currently using a nord female rogue. That has a altmer look to her also used the console commands to get night eye.

A barbarian named tosk. He looks just like the killer instinct tosk.

And a new wolfstanus paladin..

Hopefully the end of the line for her is a long way off. Good luck with the Breton. Great start.

Welcome to the thread. We are always glad to see new members to the family. Your Bosmer is off to an interesting start. I wish you, and her, much success.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tomar receives his reward from the Steward. The Steward offers him another opportunity, but Tomar respectfully declines. On his way out he meets the Court Wizzard. They chat for a bit and...

FARENGAR : You now, there is something eerily familiar about you.

TOMAR : Oh? And how is that?

FARENGAR : You bare a striking resemblance to a former member of the local community. Were you by any chance a relation of Absorben La Vidia. I speak of him in the past tense, as he has been deceased for many years now. If so, I am sorry. If not, then it's all the well.

TOMAR : I am not sure. As of late I am having a hard time recalling anything. Did he have a place of residence her? Who did he associate with? Maybe I can uncover something to help jar my memory. If it's even an avenue at all.

FARENGAR : I am afraid there is not much to tell. I wasn't much more than a child when he passed. He mostly kept to himself. A very quiet and some what eccentric fellow. A local...Olava was seen in conversation with him on occasion. Maybe she could be of some help.

Now, if you will excuse me. I have exceeded my daily limit of commoner interactions.

TOMAR : Thank you...sheever sh...

FARENGAR : I'm sorry...?

TOMAR : *walking away* - Indeed.

Tomar beds down fore the evening at the Bannered Mare. The next morning he finds Olava.

TOMAR : Excuse me. I was told you may be able to assist me. I am looking for information on....

OLAVA : A very dear man. That is no longer with us.

TOMAR : How did you...

OLAVA : I know many things my child. You have his eyes. The family resemblance is with out question. You may find what you seek at the waterfall of the West wall. That is...IF you are...

TOMAR : What? If I am what? And what do I do there?

OLAVA : That is all I can or care to say. If you are indeed family and if it was meant to be. Hand to hand will be the key.

TOMAR : Great...a riddle. This whole town is nuts.

He makes his way to the small waterfall outside the West wall of Whiterun. He finds nothing...at first. Upon closer inspection, Tomar notices a very weathered imprint of a black hand on the rock wall behind the falls. It is almost an exact print of his hand. He places his palm against weathered paint....

The ground shakes slightly and the rock begins to move. Tomar is...home.http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/559816336008269204/5222438CEAD172A2F0CD429791733586C40A645E/

I am tempted to start one of these. Would probably get me playing to survive :P

Are there any other rules to this? For example, when your health is low, can you clug down 6 potions in a few seconds to survive? lol.

I am glad you show interest. I hope you at least give it a try. The will to survive is what makes this exciting for me. It really changes the way I will play forever.

That is perfectly fine. If you can get them down fast enough. Your character can be one shot, pending your HPs and most can be crit killed with 50%. Once the killmove starts AGAINST your character. No amount of potions will save you.

i think i shall give it a go. This is my xth playthrough, i cant remember how many playthroughs i did but this playthrough i decided to use the DEAD is DEAD rule.

Name: Varric <---i know this is from DA2 but eh this guy is cool
Full name: Varric Tethras
Age: 35
Race: Imperial
Starting attributes:
-Everything else 15
-Archery 25
-restoration 20
-speechcraft 20
-lockpicking 20
-sneak 20

I use the Live another Life mod, came to solitude by boat, player level set to 5. Player health is 150, rest is 100. Adds 5 basic perks to the 5 starting skills.
I will use first person view. Set timescale is set to 5.
Day 1: I arrived at solitude. Finally. Damned captain threw down my bags, my bianca(crossbow) case and my bag of viagr-- i mean vegetables before he set sail to windhelm. At least i made it to shore. I m not certain if that captain could survive the trip to windhelm if he keeps on cruising his ship that way. I walked up to SOlitude where the guards say something about roggvir getting his butt chopped off.

Suddenly, an abomination from the skyrim mob mod appears. Playing on Expert at lv 5, i died in 2hits.
GG

i will never use a DA2 character again!!!
