Started a new character just a few minutes ago.

Name: Ahnassi
Race: Khajit
Class: Rogue (thief/mage)
Born: 4E 182

Ahnassi was born in Leyawiin to a minor merchant family. Growing up she was always wandering around testing her natural abilities as a sneak and thief. Often using her skills to play pranks on both friend and foe alike. Around her eighteenth summer there was a faire and carnival in town where she was fascinated by the myriad of strange and eccentric sights and items from all over Tamriel. Also during that time she discovered magic of the illusion school in all its glory. There was a prominent traveling trickster and magician entertaining carnival-goers nightly. Ahnassi became enchanted with his displays and thought that the illusion school could aid her natural talents and tastes for theft and pranks . So after a show one night she asked the mage where she could learn more about the school of illusion. And explained to her that the College of Winterhold in Skyrimwas the best place to study magic without bias and politics hampering her studies. Also around that time she heard of the Khajit Carravans heading to Skyrim to seek their fortune amidst the chaos of the civil war. So shortly thereafter she said her farewells and set off on her path seeking experience, knowledge, fortune, and adventure.

Small update on Elezabyth (whose name I keep misspelling every other second):

After narrowly escaping Helgen with her head attached, thanks to the sudden appearance of a dragon, Elezabyth stands at a crossroads. Should she continue following the Imperial soldier who aided her escape, or strike out on her own and try to locate the College? Perhaps the residents of this "Riverwood" that the Imperial keeps going on about might know the fastest route to the College...

Haven't had much play-time lately. I'm getting my own personal PC today (the one I'm currently playing on is somewhat shared with my roommate - it's mostly his) so I'm testing the mods to see what final pack I'll have on my PC. (my roommate is reformating his PC anyway so...)

But I did have a bit of time to fight some falmer. Man those things hit like hell! My armor is around 400, health is pretty high too (I don't put a lot of points into stamina - I go light armor and with appropriate perks I really don't see the big appeal of having a huge stamina). Those guys were hitting me once and they would take away half my health or more. Even the ones with the bow were deadly. I swear, I think these guys have something like 200 in marksman.
This fight was even tougher than with the new Mighty Dragons!

I think I'm getting the "dragons hunt in swarms" mod, or get a higher difficulty of "Mighty Dragons" OR I'll stop being a milk-drinker and work up the courage to give the CK a go. I was waiting for the bugs to be ironed out...but there are a few thing in "Mighty Dragons" that are not really up my alley.

Starting my first DiD character today- Thadon the Wood Elf. If you recognize which TES character he's named after, you're full of win.
He's an archer and spellcaster combined - using destruction runes and his bow to maximize damage dealt and minimize damage received. He also uses Illusion spells for tight situations. His class is inspired by a number of threads on this forum.

He was sent to Skyrim for execution by the Thalmor - he's a former Thalmor agent, who then became a part of a small rebellion in Valenwood. The rebellion was crushed, but Thadon escaped ... Only to be re-captured and sent for execution. The Dominion tried to dispose of the rebellion quietly, so as to avoid further uprisings in Valenwood.

Looking forward to a great roleplay with Thadon! A bit worried about him dying though ...

Duralekh gro-Bulsakh has reached level 13 at 18 hours of play. Here are some moments from his latest adventures.

As he left town, he walked straight into the meat cart while gawking at Hroki. This guy needs a perk tree for lady skillz.
13 after 18, that's impressive.
Big D and the Bulldog...so fitting.
He hit the cart. Ha! I love it!

I never did play with that spellsword, I started an Assasain an got carried away...

New character:

Name: Havel (Guess the reference)
Race: Breton
Gender: Male
I leave characters from time to time. We wish you well with the new one and await the great reads.

Congrads on the new rig. Hope you get it up smoothly. Those Falmer are tuff, for sure. You show real gut, biding for the tuffer Dragons. I wish you well.

I am a lame old brain fart, so I am just full of total loss. Drop another hint?

I am glad to see you with us. Your character sounds interesting and we welcome the upcomming updates on him.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I am afraid I have been sidetracked from ValKyn and MyKyn. I started testing and just playing around with some mods to support an Assassin Alchemist and trap setting tactician. Kind of playing off of a Sniper / Explosive expert type from my FONV characters, in a mystical and magic kind of Skyrim way.

I have unexpectedly taken a ;liking to this character and have spent all of my recent time on him. It started as just a tester, but I have enjoyed it so....I can't stop! :shocking:

His name is Tomar La Vida (Spanish for Life Taker) I started him with no real backstory. He used the LAL mod and just dropped into game at the docks of Solitude. He came to Skyrim to start a new life. He is completely full of mystery. I have no idea what his intentions are or where he is heading.

Interestingly enough he has not fallen...yet. Right now he is very sneaky character that is very fond of poisons. "Wait! Don't drink that!" He is making money selling potions and smithing gear. The procedes are funding his Alchemical education and training. He has leveled very quickly. Already at 15 after what seems like a few hrs, rather than a few days.

I am currently testing and trying some mods that introduce traps into the game. All are great, but none allow the player to apply "his/her" poisons to them. I am fighting a loosing battle with the CK, attempting to implement that very option, with Bear Traps.

I have a thread started on that subject here, if anyone has a direction to point me in, during this failing crisis. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1374438-bear-traps-equip-poisonenchant-where-to-start/

Just a reminder, no finger pointing, just a side note : Anyone starting a new character and/or new to the thread, please use "Spoiler Tags" where applicable. This will keep the thread in the General Discussion Forum,

Thanks, and again great stuff guy/gals. Keep us posted.

Thank you! It's up and running now. You should have seen me, haha, I was jumping up and down the room like a madwoman!
Now I can finally test my own mods. My roommate wouldn't let me do this on his PC...I barely convinced him to install the mods we have right now, he's very pro-vanilla.
But no more! The Age of Oppression is done! Mwahahaha!

I really like how Tomar La Vida sounds, with the traps and all. I had hunter/assassin characters and it always bugged me that we don't have traps/bombs etc.
I would love some smoke bombs for assassins, you know, when you're in a tight spot and surrounded.

Good luck!

Maybe it can run Skyrim... do you know a test/run site who can scan my stats and stuff?

I have really enjoyed D’s slow leveling. Adept difficulty means no arms race and minimal Smithing, which has helped a lot. I’m going to try something similar with future alchemist characters, and only craft what they are going to use. This play style makes me more thoughtful, which leads to a great connection with the character. Plus adrenaline! Woo hoo!!

I’m also glad that I’ve put almost all of D’s points into health. He got into a drinking contest the other night, and…
Spoiler
When he went to negotiate with the giant, the big guy took offense. D nearly got nailed by the giant’s club. He was down to a tiny shred of red in one hit. Screw Malacath, he ran like hells.
If I had put one more level-up into stamina, he would be dead.

I like the idea of rune traps for a sneaky archer. Hmm…

Thank you, and the smoke bomb would be classic, indeed. I may take another look at the mod that had a lot of different traps. There were explosive oil, poison gas and compressed air. As well as boulder traps. I may rethink this...*taps chin*

Slow? I thought that is rather quick for me. I guess I am just a turtle player. And yes to the rest of that. Adrenaline, Woo Hoos and all that!

That's how Tomar has evolved. He started out, mainly interested in poisons and picked up a Fire Rune. I spent two perks on that, just to be able to cast the stupid thing. I have never used them before or any destruction that much. Sadly they do not do much damage. (I may look for a mod that beefs them up.) But they make for a nice doorbell to keep something from sneaking in the backdoor, while sniping.

Then he decided he wanted to pack around a few Bear Traps. The combination of the two works well. Now he wants to have the ability to add poison to the BTs.

I am thinking about using things like Paralyze to simulate a "holding effect. as well as things like Weakness to magic and then have them trigger the rune. I think I saw a mod that allows you to set multiple runes. That may be an option as well.

Right now I place a Bear Trap in the center of the rune. That looks cool and it marks them in the dark so Tomar doesn't set them off. The runes are safe but he can still activate the BTs. This would be great if there was a slight delay on the runes. That would give the BT time to trigger and administer the poison. Then a second later...the rune fires off.

Tomar needs to work on his pickpocket skills next. He has a level 50 Alc Skill and with the Alchemy Apparatus mod, he has an M&P, an Alem, a Cal and a Retort that increases the potency of potions and POISONS. (God, I love those things. I wished they had a lot more effects.)

Eventually, I want him to have a ton of different ways to take out the mark. When I start the whole Assassin questline, I like for each job to be unique and interestingly different from the last. One of my favs is placing a Lingering Damage Health and be gone just as they kill over.

EDIT :

Below is a shot of Tamor La Vida. I have installed several armor mods that give a good selection from start to mid game to end game without being OP'd. This is still the entry armor, just upgraded a little. It is just under Leather Armor.

One of the mods adds several Assassin type blades to the game. One of which is shown in the screenie. It is a reversed dagger. It sheaths up side down and is equipped with the blade down. Great stuff indeed.

He also has the "Bandolier" extra pouches and satchels on. They look cool and increase the players carrying capacity. Very handy for trapper, potion and poision packing Assassin. With all of the Bandolier gear crafted and equipped the potential top carry weight (w/100 Stamina) is well over 500.

Oh, whoops! I tend to go for hybrid characters (using multiple magic schools, weapons, armor, and multiple crafting skills), and they level up like lightning at first compared to Duralekh. Especially if they are well rested. I’d eliminate that bonus if I could.

Here’s a picture of http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/DandErik.jpg. D is wearing the necklace Sylgja gave him. He has one that boosts his light armor skill, but he still wears Sylgja’s. Of course he also had one that would give him more money back on every trade, but he sold it.

The Bulsakh has been given, er, a very special staff. He had to deal with his ex-girlfriend again, but this time it was worth it. Erik the Slayer provided a surprise during the last part of that adventure. He raised a dead necromancer to fight with the D team. I’m not sure if the necromancer raised one of his own buddies, but there was a lot of blue smoke and groaning going on. Erik had a Staff of Zombies in his loot bag, and I guess he decided that a dead necromancer was too much of a temptation. The Bulsakh missed out on the irony, but I had a giggle over it. He’ll probably give the special staff to Erik, if he thinks of it. Otherwise it will just be another walking stick.

On the way out of Riften to deliver dead gunk to some orcs, we had a little excitement. A dragon attacked right by Snow-Shod Farm. Some Riften guards got involved. This dragon liked to land and snap at people, so there was a lot of running and shooting through the trees. At one point it looked like the dragon had a guard cornered under one of those dirt ledges. Big D sprinted to the rescue only to discover that the guard was actually a pissed-off troll. Slightly on fire. With another troll up on the ledge behind it. The dragon took off for another circle, and the Bulsakh did some backpedaling through the trees followed by angry trolls. Right into the triple frostbite spider fight that had broken out with the actual guards and Erik. Outstanding. I love the Rift!

That fight really stirred the blood. Afterward the Bulsakh was in no mood to deal with a bunch of backwoods hick orcs (like himself), so he turned around and headed for Shor’s Stone. Wearing Sylgja’s gift necklace, of course. He has a butterfly in a jar he wants to give her.

*
Tomar looks very cool with his assassin gear! I can usually keep a lid on my mod-envy, but right now it’s getting the best of me!

Despite many cool suggestions, I have character's block. I spent about an hour makin a nord that looked like the governator, and then a breton that looked like jessica beil, but I think for now, I'm gonna try DiD on FONV. I still look forward to reading your adventures though!

Have you done a shield bashing destructionist, only found or purchased robes (no enchanting)? That's on my list.

The Bulsakh has had an interesting couple of days. I’m putting this in spoiler tags, because it is really long. A lot happened. And there are pictures.

Spoiler
First, his trip to Shor’s Stone went very well. He broke into Sylgja’s house to leave the pet butterfly for her, and surprise, she was home and delighted to see him. I mean, what’s a little B&E between friends? That led to a few happy hours. When he woke up she was gone, but Erik the Slayer was still standing there. That’s when he remembered that he had forgotten to ask Erik to wait outside. Oops.

Now, there is an expression that one should not buy the cow if one is already receiving free milk. Despite Big D’s willingness to put out, sweet Sylgja still wanted to make an honest man of him. Best to skip the milk-drinker joke, I think. Anyway, the Bulsakh headed straight to Whiterun to invite his friends to the wedding, pick up all of his cabbages from Uthgerd’s house, and rub Ysolda’s nose in it.

Back in Riften he put on his wedding attire (Sylgja’s necklace, fur kilt, and the hat that Ulfberth and Adrianne gave him) and headed over to the Temple of Mara. Here’s a picture of Big D going, WTF? http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/WTF.jpg It seems that he was a little early. The next morning everyone showed up as expected. Whew. Here is a picture of D and Sylgja's wedding. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/BigDsWedding.jpg

After the honeymoon (sorry you had to see that, Erik), Big D walked outside to greet the day. And a dragon. While he was running up and down the road trying to draw it away from Shor’s Stone, he had a thought. He never got around to completing that contract to kill the dragon at Northwind Summit. And Northwind Summit was… right up there. Dammit!

Cue extended period of scrambling over rocks trying to get up to Northwind Summit in the hope of luring the dragon back to its lair while fighting off various trolls and wolves in the area. (I always forget about the easy way to get there until AFTER the climb.) When he finally got to the top of this knife-edge ridge, there was a big whoosh and he was blinded by fire. OK, so this one is a fire dragon. Since he couldn’t move while the fire was in his eyes for fear of falling off the cliff, he took a moment to put on his Boots of the Chill Sakh (40% resist fire, Twin Moons bless those Khajiit!) and scarf down a few legs of roasted goat. :whistling:

As he hopped down over the edge he heard the dragon cry way off behind him at the same time he took another face full of fire. What the— two dragons? He managed to lead the Shor Stone dragon up to the Northwind Summit one. Nice.

I should mention that this was my first time with two dragons. It was awesome! D used up most of his arrow and poison collection, but he still had some healing potions at the end. Erik showed up eventually by some miracle, and he used the staff to get his Caitiff in the fight. Here is a picture of them when it was over. http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/TwoDragons.jpg D is saying, “Holy fetching dreck! Did that just happen?” Erik is saying, “You know, I thought I would miss farming…” Love that kid.

And there’s more. After the fellows unloaded their tons of dragon bone and got paid in Riften, they headed back out to the orcs. Erik is developing quite a soul gem habit, as he is now an enthusiastic staff wielder. There was another tussle at the stronghold gates, which was surprising. After the big one went down, Duralekh realized that Erik and the Caitiff were still engaged with unknown enemies. He topped a small rise in time to witness the two of them battling hostile goats.

They must have missed one, because later inside the stronghold during a rather important speech, Erik whirled around, summoned his dremora, and went haring off to slaughter another goat. We could hear the KABOOM, cursing, and maaaaaaah over what the very important entity was saying. Big D still got tasked with some orc business, though. That’s next on the plan, after he checks back in at home with Sylgja.

A final note. One day of married life has made a real change in the Bulsakh. He seems to have developed a fear of spiders. Or more specifically, a fear that his bride will be eaten by spiders. I foresee many trips home for a loving chat, a quick scan of the mine, and if he’s lucky a taste of Sylgja’s homemade pie.

One suggestion is you can use the "Edit" tab, on the bottom right of your submitted post, to add to that post and make it look like this. That way you are not double posting.

Was AtW the monk you mentioned? We heard nothing else about that character. I'm sure it was a great trip across Skyrim, with just your fist. To reach level 22 that way is quite the achievement, for sure. He is added to the CCSM.

For your next character?...hmmm...Well there are literally an endless numbers of character types. Try to use a character from another game, movie or book. To inspire you and build from that. It can just be their personality or you can adhere to their traits as well. It can even be someone you know, like the guy or girl from the neighborhood, the butcher, your doctor....your/a mother-in-law (that may make a good Vamp character)

Yes...um...yea. he..he..he

Wonderful stuff, indeed.

@Everyone : Remember folks. Just because there are 10 or so ongoing characters in this thread, does not mean that is all that reads these. There are a bazillion members and guests that read these adventures.

So, post and post often! :thanks:

Thadon has been exploring Falkreath hold. He battled and killed many a Spriggan, and a warlock in an abandoned watchtower. He soon came to a cave, with an injured hunter sitting outside of it. Thadon handed him a healing potion, and together they explored the cave in search of the injured man's companions. I won't spoil the quest for you guys, though.

Thadon then headed back to the town of Falkreath, and witnessed the funeral of a little girl. He's now in Falkreath jail, staring at the monster who killed the child ...

Alas, Thadon is dead already. DiD is harder than I imagined! Note to self: bring more healing potions next time ...

Hey, congrats on the new married life! :celebration:
Oh, and about the fight...damn, never had two of those! Good fight! Must get the Swarms mod. I want them coming at me like there's no tomorrow!

your/a mother-in-law (that may make a good Vamp character)
This is gold! I think I have my new character! But this one MUST use the Thu'um.
I'm really thinking of starting a new one since Malik seems pretty tough now. With smithing at 100 and 3 pieces of enchanted smithing gear....I think I went a bit overboard. Maybe ditch Marcurio, or make some new armor with lower AR, or limit the amount of potions I can carry.
Except for those Falmer he handles the fights pretty well. Hmmm...maybe some Deathlords...
I don't want to kill him though. Good on him, he made himself a semi-god and maybe he'll retire so he won't disrupt the balance of the world. I mean, he went into fort Greenwall all alone and had no problems with the people there...whoosh, slash, bash and it was done in a couple of minutes.

Alas, Thadon is dead already. DiD is harder than I imagined! Note to self: bring more healing potions next time ...
Thadon
Wood elf archer, male
Level 5
Killed by the bandit chief of Bilegulch Mine.

Ah, man I'm sorry! And I just wanted to suggest that you should find him a Diadem...those bandit Chiefs are a really tough bunch! Especially at lower levels...

Haha, thanks. Bandits hadn't been giving him much trouble at all, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to do a bounty quest. Of course, I didn't even think about the chief and his warhammer ... It's a learning curve though, right?

Well, I thought I'd give this a go

Caendil
Bosmer
Sword n board
Light armour

Caendil is a former thief (hence her good sneak, lockpicking and pickpocket abilities). After getting caught in unfortunate circumstances, she came out the other side of Helgen deciding that not only should she stay on the correct side of the law, she should also learn to defend herself better by learning the ways of the warrior.

I think I got her to level 9 or 10 yesterday, had a couple of close shaves though! Enough that I've swallowed my pride and asked Lydia to follow me around, first time I've willingly had a follower. Good thing she's a good shot with a bow and arrow, was about to get thumped by a bandit chief, we're both low on health (I'm pretty sure his swing was going to land first) when all of a sudden he grunts and falls backwards with an arrow protruding from his face.

However, her antics against the DB assassin irked me somewhat, cavorting in the stream whilst we battled back and forth across the bridge. Hey, she saved my life so I'll cut her some slack :3

Yeah, I know. I had that happen to me on some occasions. La-la-la, kill bandits with ease, then - enter Bandit Chief - BAM, I'm dead in 2 hits, preferably with a finisher because they're stylish like that!
