Having the option to become a werewolf together with your companion and roam around would be so sweet.

Spoiler
Aela, the huntress, is actually a werewolf as well. To become a werewolf, you must drink her blood. She serves as a companion in a few quests. It would be great if one could marry her and if she transformed into one while you are a werewolf.

Why did you ask the same thing twice? You made two topics that both end up asking if you should play a werewolf. Stick to one topic so it's not spam

The first topic was about whether the companions/werewolves were evil, it just so happened that whether they were evil or not factored into my character. I thought that discussing my character on a thread about the Companions/Werewolves would be off topic, that's why I created another topic.

Back on topic, can werewolves jump/leap farther than normal characters?

I really hope we can have a werewolf companion.
Pack hunting would be sweet!

Yes.

Great! So perhaps werewolf form can help us bypass some obstacles in dungeons, but more importantly we can leap for the kill like a true werewolf.

I love how the werewolves now retain their mystical aspect. In Bloodmoon we had an ability called "Spirit of the Wolf". Reminds me of native american aspects of nature.

In Skyrim we had a minor dialogue as well
Spoiler
Are you prepared to join your spirit with the Beast world, friend?"

This will be great.

There is deadric quest for Hircine, beyond that we don't know. I'm gonna guess and say yes though.

I forgot about the Hircine quest, I want to have werewolves that travel the province from city to city and town to town. Also werewolves that live in society besides the Circle.

Well I said this in an earlier post but since the threads have been merged I can't find it. But I'm guessing they would fallow the formula from Oblivion like they did with Vampires.

That is some connected to guilds, the Circle in the Companions. Then there might be some in society and even more spread out in caves and what not. Just a guess but what else do we have to go off of other than what they've done in the past.

Is it like Morrowind though and when they see you the whole province knows you are a werewolf or just that town? And will they forget after awhile?

I agree that the whole province shouldn't know you're a werewolf if 1 person sees you. I also don't think anyone should know if a random person on the road sees you and you kill him or a cave of people. I also don't think criminals should be able to spread the word of you being a werewolf. That is where I cross the line. If a villager sees you turn and you don't do something about it I think the Hold should know of your curse, not the entire province of skyrim but the hold you showed yourself to should know. And I don't think they should forget because I mean who the hell would forget about something that dangerous.

It would take a long time to forget something like that. Secondly it adds to the fact that being a werewolf is both a curse and a gift in it's own right. You should be punished for showing yourself to the people. That is what adds to the fact that there is responsibility with the curse. It would be kind of stupid if you transformed right in front of a few villagers and killed a few people and ran off into the wilderness and your story wasn't heard in the nearby towns. I can 100% tell you that any group of people with brains would spread the word. Just like with the Dragon I am sure the guards would tell the Jarl of the land and would send word to other towns of the hold.

There is a reason the circle is secret.

Edit: something else crossed my mind while writing this. It would be interesting if they tied the friendship meter to this kind of thing. For example if everyone in whiterun likes you and you get them all to be your friend I think you being a werewolf shouldn't change their opinion unless they for a fact hate werewolves in general. Unless you go around killing of course.

I think I read that there MIGHT have been more werewolves.

a person was going thru the game at night and saw a pack of something running on four legs in the distance towards a village, could have been werewolves but not sure

Thanks for the info people! :)

This sort of makes the Companions conflict with my roleplaying. I'm going to roleplay an Inquisitor/Witchhunter kind of character who hates the profane, stuff like Daedra, Undead and Vampires. He will almost certainly hate werewolves as well to keep in character. Since the ruling body of the guild are werewolves, would my character be better off (in a roleplaying point of view) to stay away from them? Or will I be able to change the werewolf hierarchy somehow?
If you really want to roleplay you should go about your business in the game and pretend like you don't know they're werewolfs.

Yeah I see where you are going with them not forgetting, but i think there should be an option to pay off the Jarl of that town so you won't get attacked on sight and you are able to return to the town.

So there are execution animations as a werewolf and feeding on a corpse also has a animation like feeding as a vampire did in Oblivion.

Don't want to see any more spoilers on them than I already have so I didn't read through any of the threads. I'll just ask the same question I did last time I stopped by. Has anyone seen the front of a werewolf yet? A close-up in particular. If you have, what do they look like? If you have an answer, please speak up fast; I'll only be reading the next couple of pages or so for responses.

If your character hates werewolves, he can not possibly exist within the Companions.

They only inhabit a small part of the guild, the rest of the Companions probably don't know anything about it. So what your saying isn't necessarily true.

[/quot almost identical to the ones from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Especially the body shape and face. Except they have tails. They were brown in daggerfall, grey in bloodmoon, now they are black and a bit more bulkier like the van helsing werewolves. So awesome.

To the moderator:

I dislike that it's spoiled as well. However, since it is spoiled, we can't simply not talk about it. Anyway, you can't splice a bunch of random werewolf threads into one for the sake of them simply saying "werewolf." That's infinitely confusing. At least take the time to find out what the content pertains to before mashing them together.

As for them werewolves...Very interesting. I wish they had stayed spoiled, but...when you hand trials of the game out to journalists...well, we know how journalists can be. By the way, pertaining to a certain hour and a half long leaked video, you might take a look at some internet journalists. I forget which, but an article written sounds rather like what went on in this leaked footage going around. Can't remember what articles exactly, but I might edit this post if I find it again. Just sayin', leaking isn't something I like.

The werewolves have more fur than the lycans, but they do not have fur on their sides it looks strange.
