Bethesda, I really hope Dawnguard isn't your "big" D

You still see only the questlines...there is so much MORE

OH right, vampire lords, crossbows, new housing, haircuts, dragonbone weapons. And who knows what else. But, questlines are important to me. But thats just me.

How long it lasts will depend on how you play. I have around 600 hours invested in the main game and I still find new stuff almost every time I play.

Bottom line is, if you think you can get the most out of it, buy it. If not then you may be better off leaving it alone.

You hyperbolic spin doctors don't even know what lying is, you act like spoiled little 5 year olds in training diapers who accuse their parents of lying to them about going to Disney Land because their parents got fired and can no longer afford to do what they planned.

Molyneux and Todd do not lie, that would mean they pretend and invent game features just to make you excited, and if you really think that's going on you need to stop contributing to the Dunning Krueger Effect and learn some healthy critical thinking.

Over ambitious developers telling you more about what they want in the games than they are supposed to is the issue here, and people complain about developers for not telling them anything but the same old routine for months on end. THIS IS WHY. Game design is a fluid ever changing process.

If you actually realize Molyneux and Howard are simply talking too much about their ambitions, and you're still calling them liars, this makes you the liar. It's your fault we don't get nice things and the same crap is reported as gaming news for months on end without anything new, all because you can't realize these games are in flux and a grand majority of making games is about compromising with your producers.

Oh boo hoo, mommy lied to me.

I agree with you about Molyneux and I gotta say I do respect the man's ambition and vision even if he does get a little exited and announce features that dont make it into the final game, Todd Howard expecting us to believe that the lady torching her dog with a fireball was a totally random and unscripted event made possible through radiant AI on the other hand? Pretty sure that one falls under the realm of pure [censored].

Maybe even the remote possibility to visit a tiny peace of Morrowind, since Fort Dawnguard could be placed beyond the famous open gate that leads where many have noclipped so far!

Maybe we are reading a different OP.

No I think I read the same OP as Sage however I do think it is a tad unrealistic to expect something like Shivering Isles at this stage as DLC, perhaps later when the are ready to release a full expansion pack but not as DLC, personally with Dawnguard I was only expecting something a bit larger than Knights of the Nine but it looks like Dawnguard will be far larger than that.

last night (as you do) me and a couple of people did discuss what these *side-quest* might be , and we came to the conclusion that it will almost certainly entail the snow prince , who is now in-fact a vampire , and babeete will be involved

( please do not scoff , if you want to see the full theory ((it does actually add up pretty damn well)) look at "the snow prince" on the hints and cheats thread")

either way , if your the sorta gamer who smashes through the game and dosent play it again , i dont think any amount of hours is going to satisfy you for long :ermm: .

Shivering Isles was an expansion. Bloodmoon was an expansion. Dawnguard is..well, Dawnguard is 20 bucks. It's 10-20 hours of content, I'm wagering 10 per side, so really just 10.

10 hours of content. Lol. Who hopes Dawnguard isn't the "big" DLC that Bethesda has hinted at for a long time now? Who wants Shivering Isles/Bloodmoon quality/size DLC?

All I'm saying is, Dawnguard is not even near the size of SI and BM in terms of content, at least not from the hours we're being told. I want a proper EXPANSION. Please?

I am happy enough to be offered any DLC for Skyrim, 10hrs is around the base estimation of most action/adventure games these days, so I get DLC that long I am not going to be complaining. They want to offer something even bigger and better later on, that would be a nice extra.

im happy we're being offered this dlc but i see the op's point too.
a large expansion would be very welcome, and i'd be willing to pay full game price for such a thing.
im sure however that us fortunate enough to be playing this on pc will be more than catered for by our modmakers, who have already turned this game into so much more than the one i originaly bought! cheers

And here I was under the impression that DG would be more like KOTN, and the second DLC would be the Skyrim SI.
By the looks of it, DG is only giving minor new play spaces, kinda like Tribunal and Kotn.
The next DLC will be the BM/SI.

I think it just means it will be bigger than KOTN or fallout dlc, which was numerous but short.

It is much bigger than KotN in Area and Story, bigger than Point Lookout in Quests and Story but not in area

I didn't know they were adding new area. Sure, they adding two castles, a few dungeons, and a realm of oblivion. But to me, Soul cairn just feels like a really cool dungeon, not an exploreable area.

Are you a Beta tester? If not then maybe you should wait for it to release before judging it.

thats the main quest. like its been stated you can do skyrims mainquest in that time. what about the new content ect dawnguard offers. trust me you will easily get more than 20 hours out of this...

Skyrim's main story isn't really even that long. :nope:
