Heavies are sniped all the time.

Yeah but will take 3 or more shots im thinking. Only basing this on the fact that a sniper can only kill a light if he has a damage buff and the light has no health buff

I will definitely be focusing on more than 1 character. I will at least have one for every body, but probably more.

My 'main' will be a heavy medic, with general and soldier skills - going for a "Battle Priest" type build.

I love creating and editing things in games, whether it be creating maps, or characters and back-stories for City of Heroes, or whatever. I am a hardcoe nerd when it comes to things like that. I used to play RTCW and ET all the time...they were my absolute favorite games, so I am looking forward to playing Brink. But the character customization....I would love to just get my hands on that part of the game...I can't wait.

Hold the phone!

The medium guy, of course, is somewhere in the middle. Everyone starts the game with the medium body type, and as they level up, the option to upgrade to one of the other two becomes available, along with tons of other character abilities.

found that from http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/brink/news.html?sid=6253783&mode=previews

All in all i think that's a fair tradeoff to be able to unlock unwieldy strength and the ability to scarper over "15 foot walls" as you progress into the game.

Lite-speed without a doubt. I'm going to be free-running all over the place as an Operative.

I'll go with the light one, cus I can change location fast if using sniper and also i like the knife-stealth-playstyle. But I'll also the mid with sniper and knife if the hp and speed makes any different when running around with knife and sniper.

you can't run around with a knife and sniper - you can only use your knife if your pistol is equipped - and it isn't a one-hit kill knife.

Oh I see, but i can use more than one weapon right? so it will be sniper and pistol with a knife equipped on it. Close range and long range.

after seeing alot of people post on the forums.

I can gauntee you after 5 minutes of playing someone is going to bust out a heavy build with a monster machine gun, wipe out the entire other team
Which will be no doubt filled with small skinny players running around.

And we will have a HUGE flux of players moving to the medium and the heavy builds.
lol.

I am torn between medium and light. I always enjoy playing a recon class but as of late being the assault class has proved a lot of fun. So I think my main character will be a medium soldier with a nice balance of speed and health.

Once you see a team consisting of all heavy players across all classes. You'll see all the skinnies run for the hills. It would actually be quite entertaining to watch.

As i said before you'll have to unlock heavy and light body types (and be able to switch them just once) which is awesome because it means you start off at the middle ground and if you find you don't free run or jump around as much that heavy is your kind of thing in the first place and vice versa.

I bet there will be a lot of Sad Sally's for people who are choosing light builds...I keep seeing posts like "I wanna be quick and stealthy, killin with my knife and sniper." ...well, you guys are in for a rude awakening.

Also, being light doesn't make you any sneakier or stealthier - that's what Operative are for...which ANY body type can be. The only advantages you get for being Light is speed and mobility - that's pretty much it...you don't get access to exclusive weapons, (Heavies do) you don't get a sniper or knife damage modifier, you don't get a backstab ability (again, this is Operative)

Still, they haven't released any of the game types and they have definitely been working on stuff. In general, there is not a lot they can do with gametypes, imo the major variation will come in body type specific game types, so light can only face light; med, med; heavy, heavy.

Even if people do find out light svcks in comparison to the other two, fans can switch to PC and utilize dedicated servers.

I like the non-one hit knife, but the X>1 bullets to kill with a sniper sounds annoying. Not because I am a fan of snipers, but because that implies that if they weren't they might become overpowered, which implies the corridors will be longer than we expected... they better add a lot of cover to this game, and hopefully flanking routes.

edit: reading the forum, I really don't wonder at why heavies rage at lights, and lights rage at heavies anymore. Seriously, if a heavy can easily take out lights that would be utter BS. How it roles with light vs heavy is lights lag a bit and heavies are an easy target. Light needs a lot of easy hits, heavy needs a lot of lucky hits. Needless to say both take skill, its just that I hope SD allows players to avoid as many unfair adv encounters as possible, by separating body types into game modes for consoles. I always hated juggernaut in CoD4, and I hate slow-paced game types as well. Screw realism, hardcoe is boring for me, the faster the game the better.

I generally prefer fast and light characters, but it depends on what weapons are available to each group. In Tribes I usually went back and forth between light and medium and I imagine I'll be doing the same with Brink.

This is something I cannot choose, honestly. I think each bodytype has its advantages and disadvantages. When I first read about brink I thought that operatives will be best as lightweights. After reading lots of information, I have decided that this will not be true, probably. Since the game is not all about killing other players, but more about completing the objectives with co-ordination and teamplaying I'll probably choose what is needed at the certain moment, in a certain situation. I do not see one reason to play Lightweight, so I'm between Heavy and normal at the moment.

there is one gametype - objective - no CTF no DM or TDM, just class based team onjective gameplay - on or offline.

you will always play as an attacker or defender depending on the mission - you can choose to play through these in the campaign (story mode) in standard matches (no stroy attached) and I know stopwatch mode is in (the same objective gameplay, just whatever time it takes for a team to win, the next match the other team has that much time to beat it)

I like the non-one hit knife, but the X>1 bullets to kill with a sniper sounds annoying. Not because I am a fan of snipers, but because that implies that if they weren't they might become overpowered, which implies the corridors will be longer than we expected...
they did this to focus on the team element - if you put one-hit kill snipers in, you're going to have everyone hiding trying to bang out headshots - if you make snipers less effective, you have less people sniping.

I really don't wonder at why heavies rage at lights, and lights rage at heavies anymore. Seriously, if a heavy can easily take out lights that would be utter BS.
to give you an idea of how low health is for Lights - without a health buff, a knife can one-hit kill a light.

But without details, we don't really know how significant that is. If a knife can one-hit a Light, and leave a medium with 1% health, then it's not such a big deal. Also, if a Light's health is so low, he must be REALLY ****** fast.
