You and me both buddy. I still have the gameinformer mag with skyrim on the cover sitting on my desk. Well guys, as nothing is happening this morning I will check back this afternoon. Gonna go rage at Dark souls for a few hours ;) I am saving my skyrim character for dawnguard.

Win.

I think it would be awesome to be able to help debug this and future dlc for skyrim on a console mainly because i don't have a good enough PC to run skyrim. I hope I got in.

None taken, can totally see where you would be coming from.
Though, I'd say this seems to be more of a PR move, if they excluded everyone who hadn't already been a member on the site, would seem unfair.
Or at least, that's what the numpties who hadn't got it, would say.

This would probably be fairest, even if it would discount me; I'd almost prefer surrendering my chance so that more deserving people are chosen overall. But then you could miss out people who would do a great job of testing but simply haven't signed up yet, so it's a double-edged sword.

EDIT: Perhaps if you had to submit a currently existing bug to be accepted into the pool... that'd wheedle out the lightweights.

Most people just didn't make a forum account, I've had Skyrim since Day 1 but I didn't feel the need to make one. Doing that would/could exclude veteran members who just didn't make a forum account.

And then people could argue that those who bought the product did simply that, and weren't in the line of 'work' to give feedback other than the amount of hours they played. Fickle, but that's the way it is.

I think it would be better if everyone got a chance and not just long time members

True. Unfortunately, there are people who would do that..a shame too.

I agree with Codemac. I've been a member of the forums since the release of DLC for Fallout 3. I don't see any reason why veteran members of the forums should have any priority over those who might have just joined once they started taking applications for the beta. There are a lot of fans of many different series who don't feel the need to spend as much time as I do lurking on a developer's forums (which I am embarassed to say is a pretty astronomical amount for myself on the BioWare forums).

I agree just cause you are a member of the forums since fallout 3 doesnt mean you know anything about testing for bugs. Software issues, software making the hardware fail ........... Think its most fair for evryone to have a shot. Plus then you get more variety when it comes to players testing for bugs.

That is very unfair. It could ruin the chances of someone else because they made another account that took a chosen slot.

Perhaps if they used xbox live to check how long you've had Skyrim...? Then it's all fair.

Well then I'd definitely be likely to be chosen just like millions of other people who didn't sign-up.

Of course you'd still have to sign on to the forums and go through the process, they wouldn't just randomly choose people who hadn't even asked to be considered... derp!

If that's the case, then they'll see that my very first save was at 1am on 11/11/2011, shortly after the festivities of the Midnight Release ceased. lol

I loved walking out of the store with my Collector's Edition gripped tightly in my sweaty, anticipatory fists! :D

Ach, if we're chosen we're chosen.
If we're not, hardly an upset.
Lord Sithis knows, we're getting it sooner than everyone else anywho

I'm saying in an ideal world they'd have done it based on xbox live and would've obviously taken your gamertag.
