Dawnguard June 26 10-20 hours

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 7:50 am

Been waiting awhile for this to have a release date and it involves my favourite things portals and vampires :) would've been killer to be forced to wait even longer it would be worth it though.

LOL. You expect it would be out today or something?
No but a June 26th release would've been nice.
But that's has been known since Dec or something so like I said, minor annoyance.

I'm not happy with this tbh. I put off doing the the Main Quest of Skyrim, so I finished it at about the 50 hour mark but I think it only took about 10-15 of those 50 hours. I thought the College of Winterhold and the Thieves Guild actually had a longer and somewhat better quest-line. At the moment I am on my 107th hour(According to steam, but Steam often is a few hours behind) and I still have the Companions to do(But I doubt I ever will do it, since the fighters guild quests don't appeal to me) but the game has reached the point where all I have left to do are once-off or miscellaneous quests. Most people would be happy with this but I find non-quest line quests to be boring as they don't seem to add much to the story.

The DLC will probably add very little compared to the base game and based on the fact that my character is very balanced and I have almost perfected him, I think the DLC will only add about 5-8 hours for me. DLC for COD, Bioshock or some other generic shooter doesn't compare to a Bethesda game. Those games only release DLC for the multiplayer while this DLC should expand on the Lore and story of an epic franchise. I'd be happy to buy 8 hour DLC for Skyrim but I would not be willing to pay over €10 for something that will probably only extend my playtime by a few hours.

I bought Skyrim for €40 and got 107 hours so far, there is no way you can justify €20 for only a fraction of that playtime. In the end, due to the fact that I have to wait a month for the DLC and the ridiculously high price, I will probably stop playing Skyrim in a few weeks time. Then next summer when I am finished in university, I will probably get the Skyrim GOTY from a PC bargain bin.

They said Skyrim was 300 hours.. My Skyrim was like 130 hours and i did like everything.. Its 300 hours to read every book very slowly and if you haven't figured out about the warp system and that you can run in the game..

To me it is worth 10 dollars at that.. Probably less.. What I see from other developers is them giving out this size DLC for free..

What developers? What game?

And yes, it takes about 300 hours to complete ALL the quests in Skyrim- if you're only counting how long it took you to complete the main quest, you're not actually playing the game to its fullest potential.

I'm sure it is, but we all knew Xbox had the month first exclusivity when the game came out

Did everyone else miss the part when he said: "we are working on some other stuff as well and it's not all going to cost 20"

Also, patches that have come out have brought us stuff..
Creation Kit took some time and it still does..

Not to mention they probably did some consulting on TESO..

Yeah already said that. It's life, well one thing is, sometimes it is good to know stuff before actually playing a game spoiler or not, as in preparation for different character builds. So getting some understadning about the vampire and werewolf perks will be good.

I upgraded the memory capacity on my Xbox for Dawnguard. 20 hours worth of gameplay is brilliant, ten times longer than a map pack on COD can keep me amused for.

This DLC looks EPIC!

My only concern is that it's only 20 hours...i mean that's about the length of a normal video game.

BETHESDAS NEVER RELEASED AN EXPANSION PACK THIS SHORT!

Also i can't help but feel that xpack looks like more then 20 hours...did Todd mean with fast travel, or did he just mean the Dawnguard main quest?

Because seriosly if that includes evrey new dungeon and dragon and EVREYTHING...this is going to be a short mainquest for Dawnguard.

I'm betting i get more then 20 out of it.

I believe that the estimate of 20 hours was only for the mainquest im sure there will be extra stuff to find or look for in the espansion.

20 hours is not huge? Are you crazy?

Some $60 singleplayer games that come out today are not even 20 hours.

Who exactly released 10-20 hours of DLC for free? Are you forgetting Bethesda has already released free content. GTFO
I just can't see how ANYONE could possibly think they came close to doing every quest and exploring every dungeon in 130 hrs. That is without reading the first book.

I too am curious about any dev team giving 20 hr content for free.

I have exceeded the estimated 300 hrs of gameplay for Skyrim by 5Xs, with 18 different characters, and I have experienced about 75% of the total content.

VERY impressed by Dawnguard so far - well done Bethesda. The wait to July 26 is going to kill me, but at least its not Xbox-exclusive.

10 or 20 hours, it's just hypothetical. We'll probably spend a lot more in the game, having fun with all the new stuff and powers the dlc will give us. I think it's highly worth the money. :)
