Hearthfire DLC [merged similar topics]

Magic in Skyrim is some what lacking, it feels like it wasn't focused on by any of the developers, like they were too busy with the other forms of combat to test it properly.
I also think magic was an oversight a huge mistake considering this is a game series that began with spell creation and that allowed you access to great options and depth in customizing your mages spells that suit your play style and your character and that even opened up even more avenues for roleplaying.

All of that is just with spell creation and then look at the spells we used to have I just want the spells we had since Morrowind I talked to a few other people and Daggerfall level spells might be to difficult to implement into the current games, but in Skyrim imagine the versatility we could have with mages, spell creation, duel casting, runes, thrower spells, and all of the spells since Morrowind I would be great with the magic system.

With what we have now it feels gutted a shell of what it once was.

I hope this DLC is centered around PYROMANCE…...

Setting things on fire with your mind, villages, people around you… forests...

Burn it all down!!!

A solid magic overhaul wouldn't hurt, that's for sure, but at this point it's anyones guess. I do find it strange though, that Esbern speaks of hearth and dawn in his speech at :56 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNTLmojoWw4

It's almost like Beth is setting up for something... which is strange, and unlike them. lol, only time will tell.

Let's use those gates at the borders, shall we? Let us see west Morrowind or a tiny bit of Hammerfell. BLACKLIGHT!

As random as it seems, I realized today that I would love to have a pet bear as a companion.

A lot of the more serious speculation is that it will be focused around magic, possibly conjuration, since that's the subject of the book by the same name.

That supports my theory of the DLC being about a Lich... Liches do raise the dead which is conjuration, correct?

But , IIRC, the conjuration in the skill book isn't about raising the undead so that link would be tenuous.

I hope for the future of Skyrim that this next DLC is magic related. A magic overhaul is needed so badly, playing a mage is Skyrim is so boring and predictable with the same spells.

Alter of Spell making please.
More daedra conjurations also.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, so http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85634522 the document. I apologize if this has already been discussed.
Lol how did you find this!?
I've known that they trade marked it.... but how you got the actual documentation is beyond me... Kudos!
Yeah, that document first showed up on these forums round about the 24th of last month. Don't remember exactly when, but it's been know a good week or so and it's meaning has been discussed.

Still Conjuration though. And it would also help bring in more magic and prolly improve Magic since Liches are all about Magic.

Possibility? Certain.

Contents? Fireplaces. Many many fireplaces.
You mean an expansion based entirely around cooking?

How COOL!

Do we get new recipes?

Can we get recipes that don't involve salt? It's really bad to have so much salt in your diet.

Fair enough. I think some improvements to magic would definitely be a good idea.

Hm.. Dawnguard is improving other aspects of the game so what is Hearthfire is about a Lich and the improvements in it will be on Magic? It all connects pretty well and magic improvements is prolly most wanted thing atm, since many others are being fixed in Dawnguard...

I hope my theory is correct cause I want to fight an epic Lich!

There's also a Dragonborn trademark filed to, could be anything of course with that name but it could be dlc focused more on the Dragonborn after the main quest. Something to do with Talos, he was the first confirmed dragonborn, another event that the dragonborn plays a big part. Now the hearth fire sounds really interesting dont know what it could be.

I just have a feeling this will be related to the Imperials (the politics and such) and also a strong emphasis on magic (maybe we will get new spells?), based on reading the 2920 book and just the general feeling I get from the word "Hearthfire"

Obviously from the name this will transform Skyrim from an RPG to a "people" simulation game where you build homes, make families, have children, work a daily job and fight werewolves. It'll be called Hearthfire: The Skysims.

Not so much in-game reference, just game lore; Hearthfire is a month on the Tamriel calender.

Maybe it will be argonian history month?
